The fact that it took comments for him to realize how stupid it was to put the fucking promo after the initial part of a call-in is absolutely batshit insane. Thankfully he fixed it now

@charlesnewborn3760 or he did it where the most people would listen which was the smartest spot to do it.

Caller says this particular villain makes "weird" moves against him like raise the flop with middle-pair ace-kicker, and raise with a backdoor flush draw... meanwhile, depending on the flop, position, and situation; these are solver-approved moves! Perhaps this villain is better than caller thinks he is.

Whoever complained, are you happy now about Mr Bart doing the promo in a less harsh way? On a more positive note, Mr. Bart I really enjoyed your commentary on last weeks HCL. Would be a pleasure to have you out here at The Lodge. Thanks for the content. I always feel like I learn something from these episodes. Appreciate you. ❤️

I think with Villain's line vs our action, and obviously with the benefit of hindsight, it feels like his most likely holding is some mix of big diamonds, KQ KJ QJ. With an out of position aggressor, he can just call our bets with a bigger draw or some AX, and once he bricks out but we check on this board, he really does have a great spot for a bluff. The "head shake, muck" also eliminates a lot of AX hands since I would think SOME of those expect to possibly be good SOMETIMES and would still showdown. Aside from K/Q/J9d or 99, I don't expect he's got a lot of 9's too often that are following this action. Most of the non-diamond-9X combos are gonna fold out either pre or on the flop. When he "calls pretty quickly" on the turn, I'd expect these open-ended combo draws to maybe think for some amount of time about a raise/jam, but just something like KQd with just a gutshot for straight may flat. I could also see something double-gutted WITHOUT either flush like QJs calling quickly since they don't really have a hard river decision.

So villain makes light flop raises yet hero assumes he check called flop and turn with a royal draw 😂

Not sure what hand you're referencing, but literally none of that happened in this one.

On the flop, betting 1/3 in position with range is fine but oop we don’t get a lot of (if any) range bets

This is at least a 60% bet on the flop. You really want everything but an A or 10 out.

How could villain have more sets on flop if you 3 betting 7s plus 😂 this caller is getting way to much into solver land and forgetting we humans are simply mfers
@Badbentham
@Badbentham Час назад
Villain was characterized as loose-passive; so he could have about the same amount of TT/88 as we do. (We may sometimes flat from the SB with 77-TT as well) - However, a typical double-flat range is often fairly condensed (medium pockets , suited broadways) , while we additionally have a wide variety of Ax and (smaller) SCs, if that makes sense. 😉
@TheGuyCalledX
@TheGuyCalledX Час назад
Easy. The double flatter should have a narrower, condensed range compared to the 3-bettor. So even if they have the same number of combos of sets, they will make up a larger portion of villain's range

I don’t ever see villain having 9x, ever. There’s no hand that’s flatting pre than double flatting pre and flatting flop that contains a 9, except one specific combo, and that’s 8d9d. The snap call on the turn shows clearly it’s NOT a one pair hand like AK/AQ. It’s either a flush draw or a scared set of 888 or 101010.

9Js, Q9s, K9s, 89s, A9s spades. Diamonds are raising a lot.

Here's a classic case of the "theorists" diving so deep they lose sight of common sense. Yes, hitting a lower set on the Turn feels so, so good. But look at all the cards that destroy you on the River. Hero betting Pot on Turn was a little greedy (and almost transparent)
@joewhite9475
@joewhite9475 2 часа назад
it really dosent matter if he appears to be transparent. nobody is putting you on a turned set on the turn. also it's 2-3 so getting value from flush draws on the turn and giving them a bad price is the move in my opinion
@TheGuyCalledX
@TheGuyCalledX Час назад
A set of 7s is transparent on a double flush draw board? Hardly.
@MCFoultier

Well... Perfect spot to flat pre, great odds, good hand multiway with a high spr. With 77, you block the weak hands like 75,76,78,79 which fold to 3bets, but you unblock all Ax and suited broadway cards which may flat or even 4bet. So strongly dislike 3bet. On the flop, just c/fold.
@TheGuyCalledX
@TheGuyCalledX Час назад
I'm flatting pre as well. As played, I'm definitely c-betting an A-high board.
