Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry, Andy Pettitte, and CC Sabathia would probably be the Yankees SP Mount Rushmore until Cole came along. And that is all lefty. So weird he tossed out Guidry's name since we have had 2 other elite lefties in between.

I know he pitched in the bigs for a while but it feels super weird to jump that far back for a pitcher when the last 2 great Yankee pitchers were also lefties. Guys like Clemens and Cone in there too, but neither of them are mainly associated with Yankees alone. When you think of Yankees SP, regardless of generation, you are probably thinking of a lefty. Until this current generation who will have Cole.
