Like 80% of people took a screenshot during this mission, when the gang approaches the mansion. If a game can make all those gamers take a ss out of how epic the mission is then I think it's definitely the best mission.

My favorite might be Archeology for Beginners with Rains Fall in Chapter 6. Arthur's vulnerability, the non violent nature of it, and the interactions between Arthur and Rains Fall were a real highlight. Hearing Arthur talk about his son who was murdered was incredibly heartbreaking and an interaction you can completely miss.

Rockstar was, in fact, cooking with this one

I walked out of the Braithwaite Mansion smoking a cigarette, envisioning that Arthur lit it with the flames about to consume the former-slavers' home. I feel Arthur would walk out, taking time to see and take in the sight of his gang light the house up, his mentor yank around the woman who kidnapped the most innocent among them. Their reign of brutality used to show an example of "outlaw justice". Breathing smoke lit by flames spurred to life for trespassing people thought lesser than by slavers who would sentence their own to solitary confinement in an outhouse. This is like an act of somewhat reconciling with what they're capable of, as dubious as their honor may be.

The cinematography, the voice acting from all, and the music.. with the drums and the woman singing, it is just pure magic. Rockstar at its finest.

This mission was definitely my favorite. I remember how awestruck I was when almost the entire gang rode together to get Jack back and how epic it was to storm the mansion. Everything about the mission was fantastic.

While I agree this mission is the coolest, I don't agree with the perception the Braithwaite assault make the gang appear honorable or shrewd. If the attack on Bronte is the first mission where Dutch reveals his true colours to the gang, the assault on Braithwaites is where he reveals his true colours to the player: his gang is a mob that will invade your home and burn down everyone and everything you love in order to reach their goal. When you consider it, the entire chapter's morale is how Dutch in his own hubris under-estimated what he thought was just two clans of inbred hicks they could outplay, only to pay the hard price, having one gang member killed and another one captured. This mission is great, because it is the gang's swan song. It's the only one where the gang is on the offense, united, and comes out objectively "victorious". It's the last mission where you act like an Old West outlaw to be feared. In everything prior and afterwards, you are just a criminal eternally fleeing or fighting back forces stronger or smarter than you are.

If you played RDR1, the first play thru of "Jim Milton Rides Again" is such a powerful and nostalgic moment. From the classic music, seeing John back in a 1 man army shooting gallery, and especially after what happened at the end of the main story to the slower pace of the John transition in life. This moment always gives me goosebumps.

The most memorable moment of this mission for me is that shot when Catherine walks into her burning manor and the gang walks away, the vocal particularly is bone-chilling.

All the missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 are unique in their own ways, but the "Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern" mission is my favorite along with the mission "A Quiet Time" where you go drinking with Lenny in Valentine. That was so fun. The one where you build the house with John, Uncle, and Charles is also a favorite of mine for the song while is Uncle is working at directing them to work. 2:52 The scene where the gang is walking up to Braithwaite Manor is so well done from the camera angle, to the phenomenal music playing as you walk forward. It's the last time the gang is in unity when they rescue Jack and return with him to Shady Belle. In retrospect the scene where they're all singing, happy, and celebrating about having Jack back around the campfire afterwards is very sad, because it's the last time where this all shows.

I think the best mission in the game is My Last Boy. I think riding down the hill towards the oil rig, with Arthur leading the charge and that music blarring is the most epic scene in the game. I think fighting your way through the oil field while saving members of the Wapiti tribe perfectly encapsulates Arthurs character, a warrior who fights to save the ones he cares about. Dutch leaving Arthur to die is truly the point of no return, the audience knows that Dutch is truly gone and there's no going back. The ride back to Wapiti is also one of the saddest moments in the game since you know Eagle Flies was just a pawn in Dutchs game, and he didnt need to die.

"My Last Boy" Will always be my favorite

Imo, the best/hardest mission is beating rdr2 without crying.

I haven't got a favourite per se but talking about the camera pulling back to show the whole group.... the absolute best set piece in this entire game that no one seems to be appreciating is during "My Last Boy". Where the camera pulls back to show the riders on their horses as you all approach the burning oil field. The music, the guns smoking as you all fire at the army, the Indians firing their bow and arrows from the back of their horses... one of the most "Wild West" pieces you ever see.

The sacking of the Braithwaite Manor was for me both an awesome as a dark part of the story. Although it was the gang working together, being strong, in the end them murdering an (although despicable) family wouldn't have happened if they didn't stick their nose into their affairs or hopped fences playing both sides. Them leaving the manor burning felt for me the same as they left a bloodbath at Valentine, even though we see the story through their perspective, wherever the Van Der Linde gang goes they play their games, until everything goes wrong and they'll leave not taking any responsibility for the damage they leave behind for the locals. And this theme didn't end after those chapters, of course.

As always, It is a pleasure to watch a new Real Pixels upload. There is something so fascinating and entertaining about listening to an aussie breakdown a video game or a specific mission. I will be forever grateful that I came across this channel. It's proven to be one of my favorites. Thank you Real Pixels for making such quality content. My favorite moments in games tend to be when i feel like im part of the crew, the group or the silent second in command during the events Moments when instead of saying "cmon, i got this" i instead go "cmon, you got this, [Character here]." Or "cmon, [Character], dont you dare give up now." Its a small but massive difference. Thats how i felt getting Jack back. As the crew was walking up to that manor, i felt venom in my veins, was seeing red. I was out for (virtual) blood. And i wanted a LOT of it. I am 100% aware i am a real life person in our modern day playing a game involving a fictional crew of outlaws. I know fiction from reality But at the same time, I never felt so apart of something that doesnt exist. It wasnt just the gang getting their kid back. For a brief moment I was there too. And i hate i can only ever have that exact feeling only once. Same for every other time similar happens. From Delsin losing his brother to Geralt slaying his mentor's killer. From seeing the Alphas perish in HZD to kicking Gary's teeth in at that clock tower. Those Moments and more are ones i never forget ♡

My favorite apart of it was something I noticed on my first playthrough. Throughout the game John has shown not to show much affection to Jack and doesn’t really care about him. But during this mission John has to be calmed down twice during the ride, even before you talk with the Braithwraites John has to be calmed down once again. Then throughout the mission John is constantly on the front fighting and clearing out rooms

It's interesting how you talked about this moment as a high point for the gang because while the event absolutely unites them and makes them show why they're nothing to sneeze at, I also feel like it's a perfect microcosm of the gang's problems and a setup to what comes later. Bc think of it this way: the gang's response to finding out Jack was missing was to seek revenge on the Braithwaites in a big, flashy, violent and destructive act that only succeeded in letting them know that they were too late to stop their target from further hurting Jack. A revenge that would never have needed to happen in the first place if Dutch hadn't let his ego fool him into underestimating the families. Instead of silently kidnapping and interrogating Catherine for the information or finding Jack anywhere in the house and sneaking him out quietly the gang rides up to the house, murders just about everyone and set the house on fire. Dutch even goes out of his way to twist the knife for Catherine _just_ to hurt her through asking Arthur that question, even when there was nothing utilitarian to be gained from it. And what do they actually gain at the end of their ambush? Nothing except the knowledge that they now have _another_ person who they need to target, _another_ person who will take advantage of Dutch's vanity and envy to make a patsy out of the gang again, leading to _another_ revenge and _another_ act of spite that'll kill *two* members of the gang and erode it that much more. Another push away from the wilderness they found sanctuary in that will force them to deal with the embodiment of the civilisation they hate so much. As genuinely cathartic as getting to destroy both of these slave-owning families, as much as it's sincerely united the gang, even that rings hollow when you realise that in the bigger picture they're objectively worse off than before and neither their con nor their revenge got them the thing they actually wanted. It's just that this time they were all fuelled by the same desperation that made them unite, a sense of purpose that gave them faith in the grandiosity of it. It ends up being the last time they can ever collectively carry that faith ever again. "Vengeance is an idiot's game" indeed.

The soundtrack to this mission is one of the top 3 in the game.

Personally "Jim Milton Rides Again" is my favorite mission The fact John strikes his cover pose makes me happy even though his clothes and hair arent the same

to narrow it down, the home robbery with Hosea during chapter 2. retrospectively that mission is what I always come back to every New Game. It's one of the few Immersive sim-like missions that doesn't punish you too harshly for going off script. Blood Feuds, Ancient & Modern, is the big point in the story when every mission starts to become more and more restrictive which works considering the corner the Gang have been penned into. Chapter 2 on the other hand represents the relaxed nature of their situation by giving the player more leeway.

My favorite is 1000% My Last Boy. The whole gang riding up and the utter shock when Dutch left. (Also A Quiet Time, it was so silly 😅)

This is the best mission in the game and I still wonder why people don't talk about the song, which is even better, this song and mission surpasses all the others, in my humble opinion

The best mission in rdr2 is herbalist 9, first of all it’s entirely dependent on player choice and agency, it requires prep work, skill, it is teeth grinding and soul captivating, the player has to go through multiple different stages and fight against the game itself, by far the best mission in gaming history.

This - was their finest hour! ...and this is the finest channel.

I really enjoy this one, but my favourite is definitely the kings son (i think thats what its called, its the penultimate one that i mean). It just shows how far Dutch had drifted from himself, not to mention riding with a loyal group at the start, and being the force of good juxtaposed with supporting corrupt, horrifying motives from Dutch. Not sure if what i meant was clear lol

Really good breakdown. It really highlights Dutchs mental decline over the chapters. I really like how you pointed out the differences between 'Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern' and 'Revenge is a dish best eaten'. Those two missions always felt different - obviously - but this video shows why they're different in accord to Dutchs mental state and the gang overall and how the gang will continue to decline over time

I rember playing this mission.. The context of everything around this mission.. Sean dying, Jack kidnapped.. The music.. Uff I finished the shoot out I turned of the PlayStation without saving.. So I could play it again

I do think i prefer some of the missions on the latter half of chapter six and some in the prologue but this definitly one of the highlights of the game

General Sherman's tactics

Chapter 3 encapsulates the Wild West more than any other. It’s my favorite chapter, and this is my favorite mission.

I'm really hoping that GTA 6 will have a captivating story as RDR2 did. The plot and story telling of Rockstar games through missions like these and the characters they surround is what I love about their games. While GTA 6 may not take as serious of a route with the story line I'm still hopeful that it will be as intriguing and engaging in areas of things like quarrel between the two main characters and the ideals and decisions of both.

I shocked to see Dutch drag that old lady down the stairs. Unfortunately, Obstacle Beats spoiled it, but that didn’t affect my experience much.

Strangely epic and horrifying.

The first time I played it, I literally had my jaw open, goosebumps all the time. Meanwhile my brother in the background talking shit and making fun of cowboy accents, I just ignored all that because I knew I was playing the most special game ever

theirs one thing wrong with this mission, make a mistep and you wont be walking in the cool line with the rest of the gang, other than that its perfect. this and the mission with the gatling gun make you really feel like your Arthur Morgan.

Dutch is arguably one of the best and most complex antagonists in fiction.

The best mission is the whole game. This game made me cry at the end. To be able to give that kinda emotion and attachment to a video character is a feat. The writing, music, graphics, and character development is better than the best movies and books. There may never be another game like it.

My Favourite is Hell Hath No Fury simply because of the chaos, but I completely understand why this mision is considered to be the best.

I don't know about "best mission", but my absolute favorite line of the entire game is during rustling the Braithwaite's prize horses... Javier "Well that could've gone smoother." Arthur "That'll be on my gravestone."
