Feel like its a good trade for both clubs. Leafs moved some cap, while keeping some D depth. Sharks get a still developing player that hopefully moves forward with the extraice time.
It's honestly depressing, we have one druggie, injuries, have a Captain thats sadly M.I.A from an injury for a long time and shaky goaltending at best.
For MTL, they have a stupid amount of money on terrible vets, nearly 20 mil on Gallagher, Anderson, Dvorak, Armia, the rebuild isn’t done until that is dealt with. Around 7-8 mil of that is freed up this season because Armia’s and Dvorak contracts are expiring … thats the equivalent of a first line player in cap space. The 12 mil wasted on Anderson and Gallagher will require everything Hughes got to be at least partially recuperated.
Montreals players are just gonna grow and the team will get better and it sounds stupid but there’s probably not much plan other than playing their young guys. That’s just how I see it
