Thanks for the video. What day of the week does Amazon update the low inventory?

That's a great question. I am not sure. It is important to make it apart of your review when deciding your shipping plans on a weekly basis.

First, this is a nightmare! We are the brand owner and manufacturer of the products we sell, we are currently running low on inventory at our warehouse so there are a handful of items we can’t send to Amazon right now. The listings are obviously starting to run low on inventory but we do not have anymore to send right now so we are getting hit with this fee. Is there a way to let Amazon know that this item is currently out of stock so they do not hit us with that fee? Also, where it tells you “Ship 45 units in six days” is that what we need to send to not get that low inventory fee? Bc if it is, where the heck are they getting these “suggestions” from! It is not calculating correctly, at all! Example: I sold 21 units of 1 item in the last 60 days and i currently have 52 units at Amazon and they are hitting me with the low inventory fee and it suggestions that I need to send 182 units within 6 days! I know for a fact that this item will not sell 182+52 units in 90 days or even in a year! Any advice? Tips or tricks to get around this? TIA

Hi Tia. Perhaps Amazon is miscalculating your fee. For instance you have 52 units, 21 sold in the last 60 days. You shouldn't be at risk of the low inventory fee. I think their suggestion is based on their estimate for sales in the next period of time. As you state it looks like it is not accurate; an if you did send in those units you will likely get with long-term storage fees.

@@EnablingEcom thanks! I have talked to a handful of reps at Amazon and on the forums and they are telling me this is correct! Which makes no sense! At this point, me and my boss have decided NOT to listen to what Amazon is recommending that we send to FBA and just get hit with the low inventory fees. We’re going to see how May plays out and then decide if we will continue doing FBA. I know a lot of sellers since I’ve been managing our Amazon accounts for almost 10yrs and a lot of them are going to pull out of Amazon and focus on other e-commerce sites. Hopefully, once Amazon sees a lot of sellers pulling out and/or complaining they will do away with this BS. Or maybe a class action lawsuit??? Still not sure how this is legal or ethical!

Thanks for breakdown! If you have more than one SKU for an ASIN, and one of the SKUs gets low, but the other has plenty, is a low inventory fee imposed on the SKU that is low?

That's a great question. I am not really sure. I will look into it and see if I can circle back with an answer.

Was this column renamed? I am not seeing the same thing as you. I see "Low-inventory-level fee - Updated weekly"

Hello, on the right side of your screen in the header you can set your "table preferences." You will need to turn that column on if it isn't displaying.

It certainly changes the business of selling on Amazon for groups of sellers. If you are manufacturer or have control over your supply it shouldn’t effect much what you do. However if you buy from distributors or some other parties and you don’t have ample supply of product this will seriously change the profit margins. Especially for low priced items.

Does closing a listing solve the problem?
@EnablingEcom

Not sure, since this is new there are many unknowns other than what the fees are going to be and what products you that will get hit with it.

@@EnablingEcom thanks. I changed my listing to Merchant Fulfilled, to be on the safe side.
