I feel like you said so much about the songwriting process just breaking this down for us. Thank you, Kevin. I'd love to hear some thoughts about Bat Boy.
I love your breaking down the score videos! I was very happy to see this one! Also just had to say the "just pick a line people" had me laughing more than it should have probably 💜
I went to see this show when I was really young and this was the only song I knew, other than popular and defying gravity. I have a a sweet fondness for this song and feels nostalgic.
I really really love these videos! It's so interesting to see how much work and love are behind the songs that I know for ages, all the not-so-hidden things incrusted on them, making them even better than I thought before. Thank you so much for doing this!
I may be wrong as it was years ago but Bill Brohn told me the section at 7:43 (in the single stave) quotes from "You're out of the woods" from the original Wizard of OZ.
could you please break down the wicked opener!! the overture, ive been meaning to learn how to play the one from your video but i cant find the sheet music online :(
Thanks for a great video! I must say, I might be confused by the term "musical DNA" when the examples of the same seem to be exclusively motifs. Can you differentiate what is meant by "musical DNA" from the motif?
