Joel I'm a Commanders fan. I really want Penix jr because he's readymade to be on the NFL field. Sure he needs to get better and maybe he throws 30 ints and 30tds first yr. But he's not afraid to pull the trigger on a pass like a lot of rookies are and get sacked! Yea that's my guy! Plus I've seen him under center like a pro in the red zone already.😊
trade back from 2 get a blue chip OT and grab penix next....and enjoy your extra 1st round pick next year and prolly extra picks beyond that...Washington has dog water at left and right OT...they are not equiped on the line to protect a rookie...not even close.
@@jamesabc372 every qb needs to get better than they were in college if they want to play a single snap as a starter...I am in the same boat as you, trade back get a blue chip OT and Penix....our line is a disaster of wallmart bargain bin talent.
@@bodhisfattva7462 every player needs to get better. Penix jr is my first choice. But probably not the commander's choice. If this coaching staff is so good why can't they make a 2nd rounder "blue chip" and 2 3rd rounders good!
To me the most outstanding QB in this draft with all the skills, all the intangibles, and the most versatile and well rounded. Just wanna hear more about how he is the the huddle and leading the troops.
Rarely threw over the middle where you make your money in the NFL. Also going to be 24 years old when the season starts so an older prospect. Also had a breakout year but not as productive in past years
@@GeekazonDeals Well said Daniel. Forgot that he's two, three years older than the others. Add to that his injury history. But if he works on middle of the field passing and easiing the velocity on shorter throws he'll be fine. He gets anxious and wants to sling it. Can't deny his incredible talent though.
@shonuf5152 yeah he throws a pretty ball and can air it out. I like him, for my team (Giants) I wouldn't mind trading up into the back of the 1st round if he fell that far
The SEC defenses were absolutely awful aside from UGA & Bama, who got beat up at home by Texas. Nabers/Thomas Jr carried Jayden who then padded his stats running vs AUB/FLA/Grambling/Georgia Southern.
100 percent agree. Watch any of his ASU games vs. Utah. That D turned him into an ineffective passer despite having Aiyuk and other NFL talent recievers on the roster. SEC clearly had a down year on Defense. Despite this, JD didn't pull together a magic season.
@@aarontracy5160He was a freshman that year. No matter how “awful” they are in most conferences they be the best or one of the best. Just based on talent alone. Everyone loves Maye his best game was against Campbell this past year. Did Joe get carried by his receivers the year they won which had a way better team, or it was all Joe. Did CJ get carried by his receivers throughout the years having G. Wilson, MHjr, Olavue.
You’ve been scouting QB’s for how long? I mean people who’ve been doing it for 40 years still get it wrong yet you sound so confident. Wilson might have been good had he went to another team with a different system. We will never know. Well most of us won’t……
Telling you rn Penix at 11 is better than trading 23 and 11 for McCarthy who doesn’t even fit the skill set of your main wrs. He’s a playmaker while Penix is going to make sure your wrs get the ball
I think penix and Daniels don’t necessarily have high ceilings, maybe top 10 qb, but they can definitely contribute to a winning roster. They wont be holding back an offense imo
Daniels will be a bust. NFL will be faster than he processes. Some team with a dysfunctional O line will draft JD to high. We saw how he performs in those conditions at ASU. LSU covered up a lot of his flaws. Daniels was not a transcendant type QB at LSU. JD is NOT Joe Burrow. Not even close.
I see a lot of hating. To my understanding the environment at ASU after freshman year was horrible and not the only one to leave. Joe had way better team around then Jayden did. You could argue both Joe WR are best in the league right now. Many say without Jayden they are a 4-6 wins team.
If so, you don't think that he will compensate by making shorter passes and using his legs...at first? Wherever he lands, hopefully he gets at least a season to observe. I don't believe he'll be thrown in the fire. The only QB who may start off the bat is Caleb Williams. And even he needs some games to just observe and get a sense of the speed of the pro game.
Penix won the pac 12 championship and sugar bowl against good teams and he was the main reason they won he throw the bowl around unlike the hand off king jj McCarthy
