I left the cult 35 years ago when there was no internet, or info at your fingertips. I was at BYU on a drama scholarship. In the library one day, doing research for a paper that was due, I read about the Mt. Medow massacre. It hit me hard. My first thought was "what have my parents gotten me into", they had joined when I was 4. I hightailed it out of BYU and started reading Ed Decker books (a guy that we'd been warned was serving saten). It took me several more years to actually leave. I call myself a cult collector, as my indoctrination was so complete that I just rolled from one cult to the next because I didn't understand how to unfuck the the mind warp. I see why other members have fallen into the cult of Tim! With cult groomed mind set it's natural progression. I'm still deconstructing all these years later! At age 60 I found RU-vid. I am SO happy to find so many exmo's telling their stories. I wish I'd have had this community back when I left. I feel like I wouldn't have kept falling for bullshit if I'd had this community! Thanks CB for what you do! I love comedy, so also appricite your humor. Everyone tells me to write a book because of my crazy Mormon experiences and others. If I ever figure out how, I'll title it The Cult Collector. The mind warp is real folks! 😘😘😁✌️

The level of corruption in Utah is staggering. From Tim Ballard, OUR and their enablers to the leaders of the LDS church, all are a disgrace. Church and State are as one, never a good look. I sincerely hope this will not be buried by the church powers-that-be. Why would members continue to tithe? I would demand a full refund. Police forces, around the world, have known about TB's behaviour for years. They were often threatened when they tried to report them to OUR.

They're a multi billion dollar corporation masquerading as a church. Rather than actually helping people with all that sweet recurring tithing, they install vending machines around Christmas time so that members (and others) donate MORE money that they can use at their discretion to help poor people... provided those poor people attend church and pay tithing themselves over other needs they or their family may have. People feel the spirit and "Light the World"*. * Terms and Conditions apply Do better things with your money, Mormons. They have enough land and other investments to serve the lord... they just DON'T (or do on a VERY limited basis).

I remember Dr. John Matthias (Hidden True Crime) commenting how Ballard taking the alias name of Black reminded him of Mr Black in Westworld, cosplaying as some action hero to fulfill his fantasies, so to see “experience vacations” called out in the lawsuit was so on-point! I can see all the conspiracist making hay of the fact that this dropped the same week as the class action against the LDS Church regarding the use of tithing donations, but the two really go hand-in-hand when you consider the detail of the Church handing out financial documents to OUR so they could target the big donors. Super interesting to see how the tithing forms changed in 2012 and all the financial details in that lawsuit. So much corruption!!!

Best. Response. Ever. When i was pregnant out of wedlock but planning on baptism for our daughter my boyfriend and i went to this tiny dark Italian Restaurant with both our Moms. Tucked in the corner is the jead priest of my bf's church with a stunning young but legal alter attendant. We got the full baptism. Still not married. Our daughter turns 22 this week and is getting ready for Law School.

Angel Studios, the home of 'The Sound of Freedom', is super sketch. The falsely charged a bunch of people $15. I had a random $15 one morning from Angel Studios. I could not find where or why this charge was made. I went to the bank to have it canceled, and ran into multiple people there for the same reason.

The premise of the movie is great, and I'm all for that. BUT before he and his associates went off dislocating both shoulders in patting themselves on the back, they should have taken a long long look and personal audit and inventory of themselves, and made sure their closets were clean of all the skeletons. This scandal is just as intriguing as the Ensign Peak scandal, and it's yet another massive black eye to the behemoth corporation.

Kids died under her care. Another example that the real people that help with the real problems dont get or seek attention. They just help. The problem has been there for decades but not in the way Tim and associates represented, I worked in a locked institution for girls 14 to 18 in California in the 70s most of those girls had been involved in the sex trade. Many runaways, not all the really awful truth was many of their users kept in touch with them through their imprisonment and there was little we could do about it at that time, however, their families rarely did. Girls were not suddenly kidnapped from the street but came from backgrounds were communication or care often both had broken down.

So i have a really good "friend" that was seriously addicted. At their worst point there were delusions of grandeur. Consequences? What are those! It really contributed to reckless behavior. With the recent issues of the SEC and issues alike I stopped paying tithing and I have no problem telling my bishop that I don't feel comfortable right now paying a tithe while there are all these misappropriation of church funds going on and he was actually pretty understanding. No church, power, institution, state, corp, etc is exempt from accounting a true, full, and transparent disclosure of funds. I love the church, I disagree with many things, don't believe in some things, never liked Joseph Smith especially ( I believe he was called a prophet of the restoration, but that he fell into sin as we all do, but his position and influence amplified the types and severity of his sin). I go because I believe in Christ and I can separate the sinful actions of people from the Church/God.

THANK YOU! My job is closely involved in working with survivors of sex trafficking, and for years many people involved in fighting trafficking knew something was off with Ballard and OUR. No one, at least in my circles, could have guessed it was as bad as it was. Trafficking is defined in the USA as, "Human trafficking occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud, or coercion to compel another person to work or engage in a commercial sex act"... With that in mind and the couples ruse now being brought to light, its about as bad as it can get for Ballard and OUR.
