The Northman was written for filmmakers to drool over the skill it took to film, not about the story, or how enjoyable it was to watch. They're trying to win Oscars, not hearts lol. The last cinematic movie that was good was TENET. Good in every way.

I agree, the visuals and the depiction of Vikings culture was good but the story was not written well. I honestly expected a Troy style movie and it just wasn’t anything near it.
