Even at relatively slow speeds for a helicopter, by the time the pilot saw the side of the mountain, he'd only have enough time realise how dead everyone was before the aircraft turned into a burnt metal pancake. Flying in that terrain in that weather isn't just reckless, it's suicidally stupid.

One of the difficulties with finding the helicopter i think is that since hrlis dont fly that high, the helicopter woyldnt have had line of sight to communications infrastructure at all times, as mountains get in thr way. The helicopter moght have been flying for like 10 minutes or more out of contact before something went wrong and the area a helicopter could have ended up in in that rime is pretty lsrge
