Jaylon is reportedly asking for 20m plus per year. It would cost the bears 17 million to tag him this year and a little more than 20m to tag him in 2025. One of the pitfalls of wanting to be the highest paid is its cheaper for the team to tag you and pay you the average of the top 5 at the position

So to me it seems pretty clear whats going on with jaylon. Teams have a plan on how they want to allocate their cap. The bears current cap model might not include a big money CB. If thats the case the bears should slap the non exclusive tag on him. It allows him to sign with another team. The bears can match the offer or take two first round picks in return.

I know this sounds scary but I would tag him and trade him. He wants the bag and frankly I don't believe he's worth it. This scheme doesn't rely on top corners. Also, historically corners notoriously underperform on their second contract. I just think the Bears could get great draft picks now that the season is over. I was surprised teams didn't offer a 2nd. I just don't like players only motivated by money. I would pay him if he didn't make huge demands all the time and just played ball.

JJ only performed because this was a CONTRACT year. He can go somewhere else and quit trying until his NEXT contract year. To heck with him and his garbage selfish attitude. Sauce is exponentially better than JJ on his best day.

If they can tag him anyway just offer him whatever the tag price is this year, per year over 3 years with most of it guaranteed. He doesn't really have a better option. Otherwise its play on a one year deal and risk injury that could diminish his value for a future contract.

Bruh knows he replaceable! Smith snd Stevenson up next. Even EAZY G cam plau outside. We can draft a top cb or sign a FA to play any to top 3 spots. It is what it is. If we invesr in front 7... It majes their job alot easier. Not payimg him top $$$ maje too much sense. Rather have OL and DL .

We'll see how it goes. The chief contract negotiator was just fired, and contract negotiations will be different from now on. Hopefully the new negotiator will be better and a good deal will get done.

We cant sign someone who wants to be paid like the top CB for his contract year. He gets injured way too much and we need to take that into account. 18 Mil sounds fair.

If you select stats a person could say Stevenson was better than JJ because of the picks and tackles. It all comes down to how many games has he averaged and was this just a contract year bump in production? I still think you pay him but not over 20 mil

Sign him and trade him for draft capital. JJ is great and I would love to see him back. However, he deserves to get paid top dollar and the Bears have 2 possibly 3 rookies that can replace him. By getting more draft capital we ensure the Bears will be able to get discounted talent via rookie contracts for a long time. Only if you feel the team is ready to make a super bowl run this year do you keep him. JJ would be good on the 49ers or Ravens. He'll get paid and be on a playoff team.

Poles couldn't give Harbaugh, Pete carrol, Bill belichek, Vrabel a look at for head coach? Their teams are well coached and don't make dumb penalties all game and pre snap mistakes football games full of false starts like eberfluse bears teams have been in both yr. Both yrs fluse has put a bad product of football on the field. Are fluse teams discipline? Because Vrabel, Harbaugh, carrol, belichek their teams are discipline football team. Poles could have changed the losing culture. Beardown with fluse!

This is simple. Trade Fields cut Nate Davis. Draft Caleb Williams draft Olu or Joe or any other out of the top three Left Tackles in this draft. Move Braxton Jones over to Left guard put Tevin Jenkins back at right guard. Now your ready to pay JJ oh and your welcome.

Ryan Poles has failed to build justin fields and the whole bears roster a coaching staff under him and fluse. It has been a disaster. Jamyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, Aman st brown, Jordan Addison, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Love, Cristian Watson, jayden Reed, Romeo doubs. What offensive playmakers have the bears drafted? Tyler scott... Poles and fluse have drafted terrible compared to every other nfc north team.

Ok Poles is probably the best thing to hit this organization in a long time! The rebuild usually takes 3-5 and Poles has been here only 2 years. As for Fields technically he was Nagys Pace's rebuild. Poles more than likely will draft his own quarterback as part of the rebuild. I hope they sign Jaylen Johnson but I don't know if they'll do that. I trust Ryan Poles in his rebuild plan.

I've been a bears fan for 46 years and the Bears have always paid money to defense and never drafted offense well. I'm hoping this year will be different. I want MHJ the team owes this to the fans! He is generational and the best WR prospect since Megatron
