The straw that broke the camel’s back was when the USW supported Biden in 2020 after Trump had brought back so many jobs to the US. They never got another dime of my dues. When Biden broke the rail strike in 2022, I thought it was a huge mistake. (I might be Conservative, but I sure as heck never cross a picket line.) For sure, there were issues with the transportation of goods in this country, and the economy was in a problematic state (all thanks to Bidenomics and Biden's cosy relationship with the corporatist arm of the Democrat party)... but I don't think it was Labor that was at fault. There are so many problems in the Supply Chain, a lot of it due to the radical Green agenda and the way BlackRock & Vanguard & other Wall Street players own the railways.

@@dbmn7571 they may be lining their own pockets, but i work for UPS and believe me, the benefits that we get are beyond amazing. we have one of the best health insurance policies in the country and we don't pay a dime for it. nothing comes out of our checks for insurance. The Teamsters pay 100% of the premium and the coverage is incredible. we have a pension plan, vacation, holidays, and job security. It's almost impossible to get fired unless you really fk up.. you have to almost want to be fired. Union dues is only 2 and half hours a MONTH (so if you are getting paid 32 dollars an hour then that is 80 a month and it is split weekly... so 20 a week) and we get yearly raises. by the end of this contract in 2028 i'll be making $30 an hour and when i started 11 years ago i was making $8.50. So he is lining my pockets too.

I knew he was speaking with conviction, but I’m not a union guy so I wasn’t connecting too hard to it. Then he said “and I stand for all workers, union or not” or something along those lines and I immediately thought okay this is a bigger deal than I’m realizing

Both union and non union need each other for strength. The non union workers should be getting treated so well to not have the union that the great treatment should trickle down into union jobs as well. And the union workers should be getting such great contracts that it trickles into what non union workers are also given to keep them as workers. We just experienced this after the boom of President Trump in office and the American worker was once again needed and valued. I left the non union job for a union job because that union job was struggling to find workers. Not too long after I left, that non union job had to change and started offering more benefits and ant across the board higher raises for all workers just to retain the workers they had left, as union jobs were picking off their workers like crazy. Now the non union job is paying comparable to the union job and giving even better things as far as vacation and stuff, along with treating workers better to keep them non union. And it's the first time some of the union workers have left to go with the non union job, which will then have it's affect on keeping the union workers happier because they start to struggle again to find workers. They need each other.

That's nothing new. Not all non-union are in a position where they're scabbing.

Unions historically get gains for their workers and then the fear of unions brings in benefits to all of us.

You can still vote for whoever you want to. Just because they say vote for a Democrat doesn't mean you have to, but it is good that they have such a well-spoken representative who actually cares about their best interest and doesn't just collect union dues for nothing.

My Mom was one of the few ladies in a Teamster Office 40 years ago. So my Mom was a Teamster and my Dad was a skilled tradesman in a union in the car building industry (rubber company before that)! What I like about Trump….. he knows our US needs jobs here! After that let the negotiating begin!

We all see it. We see one of the Democrats biggest donors, Walmart. We see Walmart only wants part time workers, so those workers require food stamps, and that those food stamps get spent right back in Walmart. @J-rt9ez Right… like Trump is going to force his corporate donors to ensure that workers get healthcare. This practically sounded like a Bernie Sanders rally lol. Don’t get me wrong. Trump is no doubt the most liberal Republican nominee in modern history by a long shot, but even most of these things are too liberal for him. The only area I can really see was in trade.

@J-rt9ez Yes, many of his corporate donors already have unions… which is why they’d be mad if he empowered them more. You certainly drink all that Koolaid though lol. First of all he did not get an endorsement from the Black Panthers. Fact check that buddy. You misread too what his intentions are. I’m sure he does care about the country and people in general… but he cares about himself first. Money is not what he desires unlike what most people get corrupted by. He already has all the money he'd ever want. Power and attention drives him. That’s really the main reason he’s a moderate cause he'll take any position he thinks is the popular one. Change his views on a dime if it meant he’d more likely be president. Also hard to believe this whole thing about helping people as his mission considering the whole election denialism and the events that occurred on January 6…

@@Bobo-jy5mg Some of them, yes, absolutely. Not all of them. That's okay. OBrien acknowledged that there's not 100% agreement, but he praised the act of opening dialogue and listening. Trump is certainly the most pro-blue collar candidate the GOP has had in a very long time.

@Bes248: I’ve been a Union member for over 34 years. I know an endorsement when I see one. I was there when Gus Bevona sailed out of his position with a “Golden Parachute” dear, and held strike lines in between.

But he's still anti freedom. He doesn't believe you should have the right to work places without being part of a union. Don't be FOOLED!

@Bes: I agree, but I’m not surprised. There’s been serious discussion behind the scenes from the lowest ranks all the way up to top. We are all in agreement. It’s time for a restructuring change in the corporate system, but we have to restructure the board of education first. That has a chance with President Trump in office.
