Man the Big Show in Smackdown 2 took me back. You know what I don't see enough discussed is the crazy shit you could pull off with a Gameshark, because you could actually play as him.
The stage numbers keep increasing, and only reset to 1, incrementing the world number by 1, if you grab an axe at the end of a Bowser stage. I discovered this accidentally by screwing around with a hack called Strange Mario Bros. There are some stages where you can skip the axe and find a flag exit, and which you take will determine what your world/stage number will be on the other side.
@Lady Decade: In the original Super mario bros. since they are only 8 world, world 9-1 is just visual representation of garbage data, but not all of it are garbage data, for example world A-1 will look like the sky bonus but that is just where that bonus room as been created, normally when you access the sky bonus with a vine the world number and lv number will not change but you will still be send to World A-1 which is the coin heaven bonus room, and when you fall in the hole to exit, since the world number stay 3-1 it will know where to spond you in 3-1. Since you just enter dirrectly from where it was created so it shows its appropriated world number A-1 but because it is a bonus room not meant to be enter as a world, since the number will not match 3-1 or 6-2, this is why it will keep looping when you try to exit the bonus room. The same think with underground bonus. Since when you played a lv normaly in order for the level to properly load they are mirrored copied (parralel universe) so probebly for example with the minus world glitch which send you to world 36-1 is just a mirrored version of 2-2 and 7-2 you just access the mirrored version dirrectly and since you access the mirror version dirrectly it got problem loading properly because it will used actually 2-2 or 7-2 as the loading trigger which does are not meant to be where it look to fine information about the level.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X sorry for taking so long to reply, they are two theory on what minus world is, you already know that it is world 36-1, since it is behond world 8, it is just garbage data that just turn out to look like 2-2 and 7-2, the other theory world 36-1 the minus world is just a mirror version of the level, like when you play world 7-2 normally since you can't scroll to the button, that same level is copy at the buttom kind of like a parralel universe, since you load 36-1 you load the mirror version instead of the real level, so if you could scroll up, when you in world 36-1 the minus world, 7-2 would just be above it, and the buttom of 36-1 would just be random title, and random object, like for example object that are no loaded yet, or deleted will be under the mirror level of the actual level.
Each of the 256 worlds have 256 levels, so that's 65,536 levels in total. The easiest way to access all of them is with the 256 worlds rom hack of the game, but you'll need several Game Genie codes in order to play most of the levels. Another problem is that if you can't complete a certain level ( F-1 for example), you can't get to the other 255 levels in that world. That goes for castle levels too, as completing those takes you too the next world and bypasses every other level remaining. Even the legitimate worlds 1-8 have 252 levels we never get to see. So what we really need is a rom hack that let's you access not just all 256 worlds, but also all 256 levels within them. I'm thinking of a hack that starts with a black screen menu. You choose the world *and* level to start on. The hack would also either disable the timer or give infinite time. In addition, it would let you toggle on and off things like mid-air jumping, walk through walls etc. that are needed for some levels. Lastly, you'd have a skip level function that works by pausing the game with start, then pressing select. It would probably take a lot of work to do this but would be so worth it.
9-1 crashes likely because the location of a block or enemy's data that it is trying to use is too big for the it to be used. So the game genie there is likely a really good tool to manipulate where the system is trying to load the data. So for example if it pulls a sound file and tries to load it as an enemy it will fail.

Ok mind is blown. I remember having a game genie and it involved leaving the door open and game not smashed down so there for the mandala effect of having to mash games down to work is busted 😃
Okay how does somebody actually figure out you can glitch the game like that by using tennis? I mean does it have to be tennis or can it be any other game? Why the tennis one? It just seems so random. Once again awesome video!
No need to create a Super Mario Bros B3313 romhack or an ARG series called "Every copy of Super Mario Bros is personalized". Nintendo themselves did it for us in an even more eerie and unsettling way than Mario 64.
We need a hack for Smackdown 2 that makes Big Show, Ken Shamrock, and all the Unknowns playable. They deadass made a whole roster of inaccessible characters
