I decided to revisit the tutorial map to see what other incorrect ways I could find to behave in it. These are my findings. Songs featured by Geoff Harvey and IvyMusic Sourced from pixabay.com/ Thanks for watching!
the empty pod arrives creating a legend of a rogue helldiver invisible to the authorities of super earth when in fact he accidentally killed himself in training
No matter how much you know how to swim, i don't advise you to swim with 68 pounds of weight bud. This is the minimum equipment load for average american military personnel WITHOUT COMBAT GEAR, now imagine it with anti tank or a fucking laser cannon's weight
@@Plain--Janegamers actually have many jokes its just that journos have a meltdown over most of them so might as well go straight for the source of our entertainment.
@@mr_bunker1944no, all beings has the obligation to be a helldivers when offered, and clearly they stepped over the line, meaning they are helldivers. i'm gonna call the nearest officer for your treacherous thought.
Introducing the first squad of terminid helldivers. Apparently they somehow made it into the cape-giving room and took the cape, so uh, good luck Helldivers. Make sure to keep applying the "friendly" pheromones to your armor and they won't maul you. Hopefully.
The Cape Ceremony is sacred. If you've made it to the room, you've made it to the battlefield. You are worthy to commit the rest of your pitifully short life to spreading Democracheeks across the galaxy. SOMEBODY GET THESE BUGS A HELMET.
Ngl having a small troup of low-teir bugs/robots as a stratagem would be absolutely Baller. Imagine rolling up with a Queen, 3 Grey armored bugs, and a dozen fleas and just siccing them on something. Obviously not too effective in higher tiers but it would be pretty funny to watch Bug gang-violence. (For robots you'd get one of the At-st's (walkers) 4 of the 'flower backed' ones, and maybe 4 of the melee guys. Nothing particularly special about em, they just have a bit more health and help you out instead of trying to murder you. ((Bug variant being 'Inversed Pheromone Case' and Robot one being 'Edited Drop-ship flare.'')Either that or some kind of throw-able that temporarily turns them aggressive to Everything else.)
@@lratio674 It could also be a reactionary stratagem. Throw into horde, create confusion. For Automatons: "Cognitive Matrix Scramble" For Terminids: "Experimental T.C.S Pheromones"
The solution to people running through walls is simulating what happens if you do that irl; they take damage and get stunlocked for about a second before recovering.
That's basically how I feel while playing it. Halo 1 and 2 were two of the games that got me obsessed with out of bounds exploration in games. When I play any game I look for ways to break it. 😂
@@CodyGudmundsen Speaking of glitches, ya'know how you said in this video they fixxed jumping into stratagem testing area? Well you have access to grenades at that part of the tutorial. GRENADE JUMP IS REAL! Plus that wall clip you did at the start? Wellll.... this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dyyz8CIlcA4.html
i love how since people were miserably failing the dive section of the tutorial they added voice lines for the facility operator CLEARLY explaining what your supposed to do.
Upon getting to the area with the ship instead of going to the rocket, you can get back inside the course. If you then retrace your steps to the start of the course you can blow up the small single fence wall with a grenade, giving access to the area with the shaking crate.
plot twist ending to the video: the machine gun startegem you land on yourself gets promoted as a helldiver and wears a smaller cape and helmet taped to the side
When he did the Tutorial for the first time, my brother threw his reinforcement Strat straight up into the air. It despawned, wouldn't refresh, and broke the entire tutorial. This was last weekend. 🤣
I found the cave spelunking part as well. It looked way too intentional NOT to enter, I tried diving through the flat ceiling at the top only to get stuck and end my adventure.
the moment you realize that all of the terrain around the training center is technically explorable has me concerned that the Devs are ready to Mars be invaded when the time comes
I *think* it's essentially confirmed that every planet is at risk of destabilization. Enemy forces will push in and we'll have to likely defend Super Earth, too!
@@CodyGudmundsen consider this- its basically confirmed that there will be a 3rd faction soon, and that the automatons are a separate group from the cyborgs. I feel like there is the potential of a 4 front war. Especially if the automatons reach Cyberstan and the Cyborgs are still enslaved on Cyberstan and its sister systems
I still haven't completed the tutorial. As soon as that first gate opened, after reading the signs waiting, went full RP and Dove into the pit breaking the crouch/crawl under barbed wire sequence. Tried diving under and got stuck under the barbed wire by invisible barriers. Quit training, went straight to ship, and proceeded to playing with friends unlocking everything else.
Happened to me and a friend too, for some reason the ground isn't low enough sometimes. You can always replay the tutorial though, so I just did that and it worked.
Just so you know, you can orbital jump over the ledge out side the map still but you just need to dive at the right time as the orbital hits the ground, there is no invisible wall there, its just stops you from climbing on top of it. You can also go right around the map to the spawn/start zone and climb on a rock to get back inside, thought you will be stuck there cause you have no orbital bombardment to break the fences/walls to get back out of bounds nor can you go back thru the doors as they wont open again except for the first door. [WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?]
WHAT? I was in that area twice during that play session and I didn't notice a statue. Tunnel vision looking for other stuff. 😅 I didn't really record much behind the launch pad in the expanse because anyone can get there and explore without having to exploit game mechanics to do it. Thanks for letting me know!
My game broke the first time I started it, the barbed wire ur supposed to walk under at the beginning was abt 2 feet lower than it should have been. I'm not even sure how that happens.
in the cape room you can spawn infinite machine guns. you can use 1 on the black floor and 1 on the white floor to climb on and get out of bounds. Can also ramp up a slope by going diagonally and get on top of the training course
2:51 this is why I don't have the tutorial achievement. Several patches ago when I jumped the fence and meleed the bug to death, it didn't count the bug death and never gave me a grenade to finish the tutorial, so it soft locked. I found out I could just return to ship at this point and never saw past that part of the tutorial.
Yeees! This is what I was doing as well! You can still access the area you said was patched by launching yourself with the stratagem explosion, also said stratagem can blow up the black doors so you can go back a bit (wonder if you could blow those out of bounds). There is also flamethrower you can pick up to the left of the ship at the end, next to a charred corpse. Hope you discover more interesting things, I love doing that kind of things too
Neat, you discovered the same water glitch I did when I was trying to find breaks in the tutorial. You got a lot more skills with this than I do though. Great job! There's a lot of running around the map you can do though and get in the base from different angles. Found a container with bugs in it. Even found a random flamethrower.
if you go left of the shovel statue past the hellpod rocket, you can go behind the spawn. huge canyon there with several caves and stuff. theres a spot where theres a buggy sand drop off, you can scale it to the right and explore the entire area that you could get to before they patched the grenade jump spot.
You can use pods to get up on that ledge too. You can also walk up some slopes with wiggle walking. Also there is a fence that is breakable by dropping a machine gun pod on it letting you get back into course with weapons. The turrets you dove under are unbreakable btw
I did a little of this as well a few weeks ago. You can also reach the other side of the camp by going right past the hidden statue and circling around while dipping in and out of the boundry. You will eventually come back to the starting gate where the dead body is. If you continue to circle around you will be able to get under the level and use a few tricks to climb back up to see the other side of the base. Deploying the machine gun will allow you to gain some height. I took a few screenshots on steam as well.
your tutorial is way better, the turret pit was bugged for me, i could only see the turret on the left, the one on the right was buried under the map for me. so it took me a few tries to finally understand why i kept dying to a turret that wasnt there. also the amount of sand/flooring in your turret pit is so little, mine was like a whole dune in there, which explains why the turret on the right was apparently buried and hidden for me.
You can get out of the map if you go near the lake and use a call-in strat to break it and then your free sort of orbital strikes means you can only go so far from the cover but you can survive as a "bot lover "
Using the machine gun stratagem I was able to climb over that rock wall to the left of the extract. From there you can do the same at the bodies to climb onto an invisible walls that keeps the helldiver from going over the barbed wire tutorial part. Walking across that you can get over to the big tower and to a bunch of crates containing terminids. They arent actually there but one animated box suggest that they are. I havent been able to climb the tower, but I assume a way will be found. To use the machine gun stratagem you have to run onto the it right after it land and before the gun pops up. Easier than trying to strafe up a wall.
My friend experienced a glitch that made that first bit impossible. the barbed wires spawned lower into the ground than they were supposed to and he could not pass no matter how low he can go.
On the first dive you did, I managed to dive under the wall and into the area behind it, skipping the entire tutorial to get to the Rocket! It's a fun as hell glitch
Nice! That's what I was trying to do! Initially, I was just trying to jump right over the barbed wire wall, but realized I could fall through the floor. I thought I might be able to swoop underneath to the other side if the momentum was right, but I couldn't get it.
this has inspired me to try breaking the tutorial myself I successfully softlocked by grenade jumping over a barrier and being unable to proceed, or even respawn
you can use the machine gun stratagem as a stepping stool to get to even more places, its just a little too tall so you need to place it next to some other incline. in the cape room, by the back left corner of the stairs, you place 2-3 machine guns you can climb out and into the room between the cape room and the parkour course. from there you can find stairs that lead on top of the cape room, if you jump on top of the fence you can access the entire base by walking along the top of fences and walls.
I figured out how to use the machine gun stat (Which i got to keep even when getting to the rocket) to call it down, use a second one or a slope to climb it, and get almost anywhere in the entire map lol, made a post about it on the sub-reddit.
1. You missed a hidden Helldiver statue. It's behind a small cliff if you walk towards the desert from the droppod rocket. There's also a destroyable shovel and two flags. 2. The orbital strike strategem can destroy the chainlink gates. 3. There's an entire canyon system you can explore without going traitor by walking around the perimeter. I've explored the side you access by going left pretty well, and there is a fence that seems indestructable to grendades, however, it appears you could get under it. I haven't tried that yet. I think the landing pad is behind that fence, though
If crossing the line on the carpet in the last room means you signed the contract to be a Helldiver, would that mean the bugs you brought with you are Helldivers too?
You can also use your machine gun stratagem to build your way up the ledge at 6:22, without any precise jumping. Also the stratagem is able to destroy the non-fortified fences in at least one other area to pass through
The fact they added a lady to audibly get more disappointed the more you fail that much makes it so much funnier to me. They had to know someone wasn’t gonna figure it out
i found out how to use the stratagem to get to the other side of the tutorial base (like where you went on the out of bounds area) and also that while ur gonna do that you hear a creature growling at you
you can leave the mission area and trigger the traitor execution, then manage toreturn to the pod with shell fire at you, you will also die with a direct hit once you enter the pod.
I'm not the only one who spent way to much time doing this. To note, i'm suprised you didn't include the statue or the flamethrower, I mean its easy finds,. Also you can climb up the hill to the right side of the final area, or you can run around left past the statue and climb up that hill, and explore all around the outer edge of the map, Both will lead you around the base, and you can checkout a bunch of stuff
Fun fact: first time i did the tutorial i did take to muchdmg from the machine guns and died to the battle injury simulator. It was honestly a bit of a jumpscare
My first experience with this game I opened the tutorial and got into it while streaming it to my friends on discord they are all laughing their asses of because i got hardstuck in the tutorial and didnt realize it. The barrier that you crawl under spawned lower than usual completely blocking me. It took me so long to figure out it was just bugged
Lol I was stuck after sticking and climbing over a barrel when I didn't want to. The only way I could get out was crouch drown and go prone and call in a resupply drop that broke everything around me lol I was then able to stand up.
