I was just listening to this record. It is interesting to see how it was recorded. I imagined a chamber organ in a studio. Especially the trio sitting on the balcony explains the unique acoustic of the recording.

Bought the album last night and listened to it this morning. At times edgy and dissonant, other times gorgeous and melodic. Frisell plays with generosity and humility giving Downes and Cyrille plenty of space to roam. Weirdly, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the best moments in Grateful Dead jams. Weird.
