Reese's fake streak has disrespected the game so much, that finally the Liberty had enough. That's remarkable considering that the whole league was trying to prop up reese, like when they fouled reese with 7 seconds left, let angel get rebounds late in the game, etc.

My least favorite part of this streak was the coverage of it. She went 3-13 this game and her team just lost by 15 points. She had eight points. But ESPN headlines “Reese quadruple teamed to break streak.” Like demanding the ball for garbage time points is not the real story.

Nothing against BreaAnna Stewart "Stewie", but wasn't a big fan of her after her she basically dissed CC and stated "you can't be a great player unless you have national championships" ...says all the players who went to the powerhouse program and took the easy road, I'm sure she had an all star team for teammates back then, just like how stacked South Carolina roster is these days. CC took the road less traveled and stayed home and elevated her home state program to national relevance, legendary. Diana Taurasi made a similar statement of why she was included on the USA basketball team when was coming in as a rookie, because she had X number national championships (and CC had zero national championships). It's so hard to watch people put others down to lift themselves up.

The best moment was when AR was quadruple covered for a quick moment she got an example of what it was to be constantly covered like CC is every game compared to having a regular coverage.

I went on Google and I am flabbergasted at what I read. The article said that since the start of the WNBA there have been 6725 double doubles but only 34 triple doubles! Wait! What? Is this true? You mean to tell me that this insignificant DD stat is what the powers that be are using to push forward Angel Reese as the rookie of the year? Is Angel even cognizant of this foolishness? It seems to me that a DD is a dime a dozen! No big deal. I'm not trying to put Angel down but it seems to me that she has to do a lot better to be compared to CC or most any other player in the WNBA! Quite frankly I think Angel should be trying her best to handle A'ja Wilson! Which at this point in her career, I have serious doubts that she can! Admittedly, I haven't seen every video of A'ja but from what I have seen she is a beast ( and I mean that respectfully) that can run Angel out of the gym crying and screaming!

The worst part about the streak is that Sky and Reese would literally go out of their way to keep it going. When you compare it to CC, she easily could have broken couple more records by now, but she actually always tries to win the game at all times. Reese tries to look good at all times. I think that's the biggest difference between the two and is why CC is way more popular.

Fitting that the fake streak ended against the Liberty, who had just experienced Caitlin Clark putting a triple-double on them, but, more importantly, Fever WON THE GAME against the Liberty. As you stated, Reese will be a GREAT player, but she's not on Caitlin's level, and needs to work on her game instead of her stats.

That's not true that Carter wants nothing to do with the streak. 2 games ago with 12 seconds left, Carter took the inbound and sprinted 100MPH to bring it into the frontcourt and give the ball to Reese in the post with 7 seconds left

Chennedy carter said in the presser about the stat padding game against the dream that she was going to dribble out the clock, but the crowd screamed to get Angel the ball and she went along to get her the double double.

I have actually gained some new respect and admiration for Chennedy Carter (in spite of the hip check to Clark) because she would not pass the ball to Reese in the Atlanta game. She wasn't going to do it here either! She clearly respects the GAME!

She was consistently double teamed and even triple teamed in the paint, and as everyone saw she was quadruple teamed on that last play, so Clark is not the only rookie receiving tough defense. Teams are targeting them where they’re strong which is why Reese gets it in the paint and Clark gets it on the perimeter. Reese needs to take this as opportunity to develop her perimeter game. This may be seen as a pivot point in her career if she handles it the right way.

In AR's previous game she went 5/17 and in this game she was 3/13. 8/30 shooting is about 26.4%. Is that enough to earn ROTY honors? Hell no!

Let's be real before I even get into it. I am NOT a fan of Angel Reese, nor have I ever been a fan of Angel Reese. You can call me a "hater" if you want, but hate is a strong word, and there's a special place for me in hell if I did hate her. I don't like her attitude and her sense of entitlement, and I hate her pettiness. I don't like her character. It's that simple. Now, to my point... Angel is the best rebounder in the game. Let's call a spade a spade. She is the best rebounder. She is quick under the basket, she is physically strong, and she has the potential to be the greatest rebounder this league has ever seen. Angel also has the potential to be a solid scorer under the basket. She has the ability to drive to the basket, and she has some nice moves. Some of the moves she has reminds me a little of David Robinson and Dennis Rodman put together. She has that ability. That is where her game should be focused on, not individual accolades that mean nothing. Angel's biggest problem is not the WNBA fans, the league, the media, or even Caitlin Clark's fans. Angel's biggest problem is Angel. Angel's biggest fan is Angel. Angel's biggest enemy is Angel. She cared more about this streak than she did about winning. This isn't college anymore. She isn't playing in LSU anymore. She isn't playing for Kim Mulkey, and she isn't playing for the powerhouse team that won the 2023 National Championship anymore. She is playing in the WNBA with grown women who couldn't give a rat's ass about her streak, and it was only a matter of time until a veteran team like New York got in that ass and shut it down. These women see players like Angel Reese and think "flash in a pan" that's taking food off their table. They see Angel on TikTok and Instagram, posing for these magazines, modeling, and getting whatever endorsement deals she's getting, and we all know how petty most of these veterans are. This is how these women pay their bills and feed their families. Look at how Caitlin Clark was getting treated. While we can talk about the pettiness of these veterans, you have to understand that they don't take kindly to rookies coming in and "not knowing their place". If Angel wants respect, whether it's from the media, the fans, the refs, the players around the league, or her teammates, she needs to earn it. She's gonna have to earn it everyday. The same goes for every rookie in the league, and that INCLUDES Caitlin Clark (but this is not about Caitlin). Angel is going to have to work hard day in and day out. She will have to show everyone that she is not all flash and no substance. She will have to show everyone that she CAN score, or she will have to show everyone that she IS the best rebounder in the game and maybe sacrifice scoring, if this is what it takes to help her team succeed. She needs to put her team first and not make this about Angel Reese. This is why the Chicago Sky keep losing... it's all about Angel Reese. Last thing... the Chicago Sky is NOT Angel Reese's team. She's not the leader. It's not her time. Right now, this is Marina Mabrey's team. She's the leader of that team. That team's offense runs through her. Chennedy Carter is another leader, whether anyone likes her or not. Since that flagrant heard around the world, Carter has done an excellent job of stepping up as a leader of this team. I actually respect her game. Angel has everything it takes to be a leader in the future, but she is not ready. She's not mature enough to handle it because she's selfish. It's all about Angel. The Chicago Sky don't really have a bad team. They're actually pretty good, but right now it's a shit show. Until Angel finally decides to put her team first, her struggles and the team's struggles will continue.

I think players realize that Angel was taking all the attention from players that were actually playing good. ESPN was all about double doubles streak and ignoring everyone else.

Breanna is a hater but Angel needs to learn and grow from this and get better. The Sky seem to be in a funk the last two games but it’s a learning opportunity. It’s the time to rise up and show what they can do.

What amazes me is that she very rarely gets double digit assists. It’s always points & rebounds. If she is double, triple, or quadruple teamed, her assists should be huge.

I still think the extreme attention and recognition the doulbe doubles has brought Reese is going to ruin her the rest of the year. Came to end all right, it was an embarrassing end for something that was already embarrassing for Reese, the league and sports media. Reese is leading the league in rebounding, but her rebounding is as suspect as her doubles doubles streak. 40% of her rebounds are offensive rebounds which is an extremely high number compared to other top rebounders in the league. I agree with you about Reese's rebounding skill. She absolutely needs to work on any kind of legitimate offensive skill, even just routinely hitting layups. Maybe she should try the Mikan drills and develop the skyhook, although I am certain that the irony would be lost on her. Caitlin needs to work on her defense as badly as Angel needs to work on her offense. Right now, the Bird/Magic comparison is flawed if you are looking at their games. Angel looks like Rodman, while CC is a combination of Nash/Steph Curry.
