Breguet Type XXI Ref. 3817 & The link to aviation 

oh thank you a lot Marc, I went to Paris for the 31 of Jan. to celebrate my 25th birthday and I went to the Breguet shop on that special day because I wanted to see the museum as i m a watchmaker student. Unfortunately it was closed but the manager offered me the great honor to put on my wrist some incredible, beautiful, marvelous watches. I especially asked for the type XXI because I m in love with it, so I got all excited when I saw this video :D From that day I decided that my goal to reach will be to work for Breguet

Thanks Marc-André for the video. I used to confuse Louis Breguet and Louis Blériot, another illustrious aviator and plane manufacturer. I guess they were competitors at the time. I greatly admire aviation pioneers.

I always associated Breguet and aviation actually, and I didn't know that the pilot watches were such a small part of their collection. Interesting video !

I didn't know much about Breguet apart of his inventions. Came to know with this video that he was connected to another thing that I like which is aviation. Great job guys!! Always great pleasure to see this wonders. Still looking forward to add a nice pilot watch to my collection.

I really like Breguet because they make beautiful watches with interesting complications in a price range that's within reach of most working professionals. I was within a hair of dropping some serious cash on purchasing a Breguet but chickened out.

I would never have imagined Breguet selling aviation watches. The watch looks stunning albeit the gold rotor makes no sense on a tool watch in my opinion. Another great video and thanks for the information. Cheers!!😊

Really good to hear about Breguet... you forgot to mention that AL Breguet invented the wrist watch as well. I still don't understand how can people go for IWC or Panerai eventhough this is complete different style when you go for a Breguet for same kind of money

Wow, you can Breguet Type XXI Ref. 3817 in unworn condition for only a little over $10,000. Very reasonable actually.

Very beaytiful watches, and, as always, a well done clip!!! But i never seen a pilot wear a Breguet...maybe cause is not exactly a "bush pilot" watch? 😀

Marc, what is your opinion of the movement in this Series?

Is it really a solid gold (24K) gold rotor or an alloy like 22K 916/1000 gold?

so which one to get the type 20 or 21 ?

So Breguet have some legitimate history in aviation but the crown still belongs to Zenith, they were there first with Louis Bleriot wearing a Zenith as he flew his precarious flight across the English Channel in 1909. Hence, Zenith is the ONLY watch maker permitted to write the word “pilot” on its watch dials! And that is why I have a Zenith Type 20 although I do rather fancy a Breguet Type XXI!
