He does Layne serious justice, you really can ask for nothing more from somebody covering such hallowed material. I would pay decently to hear this live. It's all very good.
The thing that’s crazy is that tickets for Layne’s tribute shows are really affordable. $25 a ticket or you can get tickets to both shows (the acoustic set & this one) BOTH for $40…and of course all the proceeds go to The Layne Staley Foundation/Theraputic Health Services to help those struggling with opiate addiction. ❤️
@@Seannone-ya-vc7pl The tribute band here (Jar of Flies) that plays at Laynes tribute each year mainly does shows in Seattle and surrounding areas. But the lead singer (Brendan Maier) actually lives in Illinois and he also sings for another AIC tribute band in Illinois, that band is called Facelift. Brendan also has a solo music career as well. There is another really good solid AIC tribute band called Rooster out of Denver that I’d recommend seeing too if you are ever in the area.

You can tell I believe with aging his range has changed alil but still no one close to this kid in singing Laynes vocals. Dont get me wrong no one will ever replace Layne, but it's nice to be able to hear similar vocals like that again, coz they never will be anything like him again, so something so close helps ease the pain of losing someone so amazing.
Completely agree. So far this guy is the closest I've heard to Laynes vocals. Hes Still so far off Laynes vocals too. If that makes any sense. Layne has/had the most unique vocals I've heard in my lifetime. Just my thoughts. This guy sounds good but still off

I respect their decision to pick up what’s his name as Layne’s replacement but they could have shopped around a little longer. They really missed a special guy here I think.
Holy shit, this is pretty amazing. I would 100% go and see this tribute band in a heart beat if they come to Chicago. They went above and beyond my expectations. Layne and AIC would be proud of this vocalist, especially.

Some dude on TikTok made me aware of this dude and I am quite pleasantly impressed. Not just his voice, which is astounding in it's own right, but he's got the whole energy down. I can't explain it, but it's just f'ing right. I think, and hope, Layne would be honored.

The first guy wasn't too bad but yeah the guy doing Chris's and Mark's parts sounds like he's doing a Phil Anselmo impression that turned into a Rob Halford impression lol
right turn is the telltale song...very few dudes can do Chris...however....these cover guys have their own attributes, of course. Brendan does a nice job! His job is not an easy one...

Sounds nothing like layne. Go listen to any alice in chains song and immediately listen to this kid sing right after and you will notice way different voices. He sings to low and can't match layne when singing high.

This guy is absolutely amazing. My gosh, he sounds so much like Laine. Man, he kicks it as well as the band does a great job, too. I know that Layne and Mike would feel honored that a new generation is getting hooked into AIC as much as us who were around when they were at their ultimate best with Layne and Mike.
Those screams are well done almost like it was layne singing at times, i think that maybe he can make it sound even closer to Layne but thats hard as hell to do perfectly, but he nailed a lot of parts in every song just a little details and it would be perfect is crazy

It's hard to follow Layne's vocals for more than 2-3 songs let alone covering 15 of their best songs and sound that good. I've watch a number of Layne's live performances on youtube and there were times he had trouble getting the high notes to sound like the studio recordings. This guy does a great job!
I agree to the fullest. It's like a healthy Layne . Don't get me wrong Layne and Jerry created this legendary music and that says more than anyone imitating as I'm sure ever this band can admit out of creative respect I'm sure

This is unbelievable. I get why Jerry went with a singer who doesn't sound like Layne to avoid unfair comparisons, but with someone like this singing I'd be infinitely more interested in seeing the new AiC in concert. Great stuff guys! Chorus of "Rain when I Die" was amazing.
it's silly that he thinks like that because common-sense says remove just one component from successful art and it wont have the same qualities that made it rise above all others to the top. That's why no founding member of a band that's made it big should be fired no matter what.
