I'm shocked, Layne is hands down my favorite singer of all time and this guy is crushing it!!!! Layne was a beast, why isn't this band more prevalent? My hats off to you.
@@eddiejackson1566 He is good, and i like his voice. But he cant entirely replicate Layne's sound, and he has admitted that in interviews i have heard. he doesnt really try. This kid sounds scarily similar to Layne Staley!
Totally agree!!! When I close my eyes I can see Layne.. It's eerily similar how he can hit that range it's like he is channeling Layne through his voice! I'd say to hell with William Duvall get this kid to take his place and let Layne live on!

He’s definitely a showman drummer like Peart, and agreed, staying true to the original part would’ve sounded authentic but nonetheless pretty damn good.
To all the critics bent on bashing me for my obviously off tempo on this VERY MUCH LIVE VIDEO..I offer these facts to squash some of the hate! I'm totally guilty of rushing the fill directly before the guitar solo,that partially due to my Second visably shattered drumstick during this song, one flying out of my hand without missing a beat! But the rest of my dragging was purposely performed that way cuz that's the way we always rehearsed it, to have a durge kinda feel, as I've heard A.I.C.also do this live! In addition...I sang All the backing vocals while playing this wich was slightly difficult but doable, even at some cost in my long stay with this band, I definitely never played verbatim to the studio version, but other than Neil Peart.. I haven't seen too many drummers that do...we just felt it and played for the moment!! So forgive this almost 60 year old fuck for my human mishaps..I believe I gave it a good go anyhow! Those vocals are insane! And he nails all the nuances, starting off key, coming into the note in key, just like Layne did on the live versions. Absolutely flawless vocal cover, amazing!

Further more, I have listened to Layne Staley for over 20 years now, and this cover is extremely good, considering how hard this song is to sing. For a "sober" person, I would say your judgment is rather poor... That being said, no one can ever sing like Layne! No cover will ever do justice, but this is one of the best in my opinion. Also, keep in mind that Brendan Maier is well known for his covers of AIC, wich is quite wierd, considering how you think the difference is so big and the quality is "so so"...

OMG! I never would’ve thought this possible! Layne had such a unique voice, I wouldn’t have thought anyone could ever replicate it. Turns out Layne’s voice is right in this dude’s vocal wheelhouse! And he seems to pull it off with such ease! This is reminiscent of AIC’s performance of this song at the Moore! Absolutely stunning cover!

Nailed it! Absolutely even got some of the motions Layne used to utilize his voice better. I recently did a vocal cover of this myself. That was PERFECT THOUGH and any singer or Chains fan, knows how hard that is to do!

Happened to stumble on this because of autoplay while I was doing chores around my house. I wasn't paying attention to the video only listening while cleaning, and when I finally did glance at the tv my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it wasn't AIC. Fantastic vocals! Excellent cover!
