Conor's my favorite mma fighter, but this guy clearly doesn't know anything about Boxing. Conor hits harder than Canelo??..... that's a genuinely preposterous statement.
"Conor Mcgregor has quicker hand speed combo's than Saul Canelo Alvarez..... Manny Pacquiao, Miguel fucking Cotto" - Brendan Big Brown Schaub ladies and gentleman
I've heard some absurd statements from people about this fight, but that one right there by Schaub was next fuckin level stupid. I had to rewind that shit just to make sure I heard it right.
The idiot also jumped over the fact that Conor fights with hands down. Lets see that speed 10 ounce gloves held up, 12 rounds provided it gets there. Floyd will knock him out off the basis that people have been talking shit since the Pacquiao fight. This one wont be a chess game. "Conor wont box him... he will throw a jab" lol Schaub. Oh and good luck with that jab by the way. Conor has one punch. A left cross or hook if going backwards. Time and time again. He bites with the right, opponent (who's not a boxer) throws, he parry's the punch and throw that left. Good luck pulling that off on Mayweather
Supreme Clientele you took nothing in he said. You're expecting a pure boxing match it won't be that. No one you named stands or moves like mcgregor. He's not going to change up his habits in this fight. So yes to mayweather the shots will be coming quicker because he has no way to train or predict it. Conor towers over those guys you mentioned. He won't win, but to think he won't be effective at any point in the fight isn't smart
bro Mayweather isn't getting tired what the fuck is he talking about. Conor has got tired in the UFC twice already. I feel like ALL these UFC people are getting bonuses to talk up Conor.
Jordan Aguilar he was in the UFC and is rooting for McGregor. He definitely isn't a boxing guy if he says Mayweather is going to get tired. He hasn't got tired in 20 years of boxing.
Have yall seen how Mayweather trains??? They came under fire for the crazy stuff they do ... Floyd will definitely not get tired. He can fight 3 10rds back to back. Especially against a non boxer.
Mike Michael did I say Mayweather wouldn't get tired in MMA? I said Brendan is saying that Mayweather is going to get tired in boxing u fuck. The are boxing Mayweather has done it for 20 years never got tired once.
I think it's going to be a lot like the Burton fight. Conor is going to just keep coming and coming maybe landing a couple on him but Floyd is just going to pick and pop Conor whenever and where ever he feels like it.
Adam Gloster it's a pretty simple concept, how will you slip a punch that comes from angles and stances that you haven't seen before? You aren't. There is one fact about this fight, Mayweather WILL have to adjust during the fight, it will be 99% impossible for him to win if he tries boxing Conor like he would box any other boxer. In the first couple rounds Conor is gonna hit Floyd, it's just a question of if he can put him away in that time. IMO it would be smart for Conor to do to Floyd like he did to Diaz in the first round of their first fight, go all in and chase a KO, because Floyd has nowhere near as good of a chin as Diaz. No point in taking it slow because over time Floyd will get better
After the only fight that Connor (of recent times) has absolutely out classed his opponent is Eddie Alvarez while not taking into account Aldo however mayweather has out classed everyone more or less, not only that but the only reason Conor's power seems as good as it is, due to the fact that he is using 4 ounce gloves hitting every shot with power in boxing you are using like 16-18 ounce gloves taking your time with punches as it's a longer fight which McGregor will need to adjust to end of the day floyd is gonna win...
Brendan says you can't evaluate boxing skills off of sparring practice tape yet contradicts himself when says lomenchenko took 4 rds to adapt to TJ's timing thus concluding mcgregors advantage?... Oh Brendan. You are the the new more sophisticated Brian redban.
Mcgregor's hands are only good because of the size of his gloves and also the added issue of Kicks takedown etc. Please don't compare the 2. Mcgregor isn't that good of a striker in pure boxing. Mayweather isn't getting enough credit for his pure brilliance in the ring. I don't even like Mayweather. I'm routing for Connor.
people dont give mayweather enough credit? i think he's gotten about 700 million credits so far. have hope in your boy. schaub lays down some very interesting evidence. that shevchenko-dilashaw story was very interesting. he's absolutely right, imo, regarding the tactical implications from the maidana fight. no way floyd ties up conor with an under hook. and conor would stand better in the pocket than maidana. maidana was just flailing. to me, it was kinda silly. conor will back him up against the ropes at some point because that's happens in every single damn mayweather fight, and there is where the fight will become very interesting. conor will pressure him, but with patience and he will not get tied up - i fucking guarantee you. brendan is right. no way conor gets tied up.
Steven Lee yes someone with 0 professional fights is going to walk down Floyd Mayweather and pressure while raining down blows the way world class boxers couldn't? lol you're a comedian 😆😆😆😆😆😆
WTF did he just say McGregor was faster than all these guys???? are you kidding me??? lmfao lmfao really dude makes your whole argument trash ... someones a homer
"Yeah but look how great Conor is in his MMA fights! Look how he smacks guys around in there!"... 1 minute later.. "Yeah so he lost to Nate Diaz and people will say Nate outstruck him, but that doesn't matter! MMA striking is totally different." Brundon Spleb, everyone.
These were the same guys saying Ronda was the greatest athlete EVER. Once in a lifetime. That she had world class boxing skills. THIS, is selling a fight for the good of MMA. Reality says this is beyond stupid!!! How many super fights has conner had??? HOw many great or world class fighers? HOw about ... how many world class boxers in ufc? How many world class boxers has he beat in UFC?? This is just stupid. FLoyd been doin this his entire life.
ANd i will ignore the fact i was the only person to say her boxing was in the stone ages. Everybody i heard mention her said she was a beast. COuld knock out anybody. blah blah blah. Yea, she looks good against soccer moms and women thats been doing MMA for a couple years TOTAL! Conor hasn't gone against ONE person tht has had HALF WAY decent boxing skills. I mean, the most basic skills. Head movement, foot movement. A lot of his success has been against ppl caught up in the talk and forgetting the skills they do have. And just being a target. THe one person that didn't get caught up in it... Nate Diaz! Is Nate that much better than the last couple opponents.. HELL NO!! He just faught like he ususally does. Nate is barely a top 10 fighter (and boxing SUCKS) and it was a close fight. If diaz can do that on their feet... my god! ANY world class boxer can knock him out inside 2rds
get off his nuts brendan schaub. you very well know Nate Diaz is a 155 lb fighter and only fought @70 because he was coming off of a beach in mexico. speak the real truth
that guy just won two racks because even though Mayweather might not one shot knock him out but a lot of shots are going to accumulate and the ref can stop it and the corner can throw in the towel if the ref sees that he's taking too much abuse and Punishment he's going to stop the fight that's his job.....FACTS!!!!!!!
Yeah but normally it's if he is taking a lot of abuse at one point not over the whole fight (you could of meant that just didn't fully understand the comment)
So many misstatements I stopped watching : Conor fights at 155. The fact he ever made 145 still baffles me. Conor is not smaller than Alvarez. He's in a fact a bit bigger. Nate is a bit bigger than Conor but he's a lightweight, albeit a big one. If you need to twist these facts to make your argument, than whatever thesis you have probably won't hold any water.
Raphael Raffster i hate how people make nate diaz out to be this huge welterweight when most of his success is at 155 and the times he went to 170 he looked like shit
Charles Bronson I actually like Conor but come on... Nate was rag dolled when fighting welterweights. You know who fought and was actually a champion undersized? Frankie Edgar. He could probably make 135 but was a champion at 155 and nobody talks about it.
Erik Nymo they are roughly the same size, McGregor a little taller, Eddie, a little more muscular but how can one say the he " was fighting a bigger guy? " Come on... Conor was much bigger than anyone else at 145. It's almost a miracle he ever made that weight. Remember his pictures on the weigh ins ? He looked like a sick guy...
this fight won't go more then 3 rounds. mcgregor is in a different world all u MMA fans will see the difference between a good striker and a real boxer.
Floyd is going to knock Conor out just to prove a point. It wont go the distance. If I had a million pounds to put on it I would. People misconstrue things. Floyd stopped going for the KO and merely outboxed world class BOXERS. In this fight Floyd will capitalise on the openings and Conor will slip up. Schaub forgot to mention that Conor always fights with his hands down, he will make the slip of dropping his hands whether entering or exiting and get caught. Conor also strategically uses his teep and back kicks to gas opponents which will not be there. He's going against a true cardio machine. Man couldnt handle Nate Diaz cardio. We've never seen either fighter taste the mat due to a punch but Conor will
t.J was on this podcast saying vasyl was putting him in bad spots buy not firing getting mental reps t.J. would obviously attest that he has no chance against someone like vasyl
John Getek exactly he said that there was no pressure I doubt loymenchenco* was taking it as seriously as a fight he could of dusted his in one round...
Everyone's all butt hurt about this but Brendan Schaub is finally the first person to break this down where it actually makes sense, everyone else I've heard break this down just doesn't understand the kinda fighter Conor McGregor is, period
People are too fixed on Mayweather winning, they forget about Conor's advantages. He's taller, stronger, also very skillful puncher. Mayweather will have to really ditch and avoid Conor's punches. Brenda Schuab's break down here is very accurate, I agree with him.
Three facts about Brendan Schaub... 1. His pants are tighter than the pants gay men wear during gay pride lol 2. He talks more than any man I know of. He literally asked a question, then answered it for them LOL If you want to know what the voices of the other two guys sound like fast forward to 9:48. 3. He doesn't know shit about BOXING. Bonus Fact... 4. He really didn't want to make that bet LOL
Poor Schaub. So his argument of Lomenchenko taking 4 rounds in PRACTICE to figure out TJ Dillashaw holds water, but Conor getting tagged in PRACTICE shouldn't hold water? Because it not real life? Sounds like he is talking out of both sides of his lips. He is literally comparing apples to apples and calling one oranges just to support his point.
Hey Big Brown, your swimming analogy was close, but better put like this. "You are comparing a medley swimmer (race consists of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke then freestyle) with a freestyle specialist". Yes Conor trains striking, but it is one of many elements he trains. Striking with hands only is what Floyd trains.
Honestly, when there are so many variables to consider especially ones that we've never seen wagered against each other, the smarter bet is to the man, not the statistics.
It isn't so much that Conor has beastly power, he is just super accurate, with great timing. However, in bigger gloves, that accuracy isn't nearly as devastating as it is with UFC gloves.
This fight is gonna go down one of two ways : Naseem Hamed vs Kevin Kelly or Naseem Hamed vs Marco Antonio Barrera . Either way I'm gonna stream it for free
When fighters fight Floyd, they don't throw many punches. Floyd counters everything they throw which makes them not throw those punches. He simply but systematically takes away their weapons one by one and decreases their punch output. Pacquiao who used to throw 1000 punches in a fight only threw 429 against Floyd. Why? Because Floyd took away his weapons. While a lot of fighters just think about punching and knock outs (Conor), Floyd is taking you to that mental level. These guys are playing checkers, Floyd is playing chess. Conor takes too much pride in his punching power, which will ultimately be his downfall. He relies too much on his left. Whats going to happen when Floyd counters Conor's left? He's got no other weapons. But hey whatever. Good luck to Conor and make that money.
the only chance Connor has is a 1% puncher's chance. you are talking about a man who has never boxed before, going up against the man who has never lost at boxing. in a real fight Conor wins in 10 seconds, in a boxing match he is going to look foolish against floyd.
Sorry Schaub but you know shit.. Canelo would 100% beat Conor, Manny would also destroy Conor, he would be just too quick for him. The best knockout artists have all tried to KO Floyd and failed. Mayweather started this whole circus, he knows he can beat Conor.. It's a robbery.. We're talking about the most skilled boxer of all time. Conor like every other boxer will be looking for an opening, hoping to time Floyd for the counter but as always he will end up playing Floyds game.
schaub loves the hype train. a good analogy for this fight is a triathlon champ vs michael phelps in swimming. To bring up any accomplishment in MMA that isn't boxing related is just trying to make it sound better. And getting striking analysis from a guy who has been described by joe rogan as very robotic doesn't help his case
Stupid bet from Shaub. Connor has the power to knock out Aldo moving backwards. Mayweather will have perfect technique in the late rounds when Connor tires, then he KO's him. He loses the bet either way. In my humble opinion a Mayweather KO is most likely, then Connor KO, then decision Mayweather. I won't even rank Connor by decision.
It'd be like the NewZealand All Blacks challenging the Patriots to a game of foot ball, the odds would be against them but the Pats would never touch them in a game of Rugby
2:47 This is the 1 thing we can ALL agree with him on. Also this is partly why you will NEVER see top tier MMA fighters with records of 30-0 or like Floyd's 49-0, because there are far more aspects to MMA than Boxing, but boxing is more refined and technical.
Everyone in this world is prone to overstating things. Kellerman is simply making the point that Connor could spend 100 rounds in the ring with Floyd and never see the kind of openings he saw fighting Aldo or Alvarez, just to name two.
a closer analogy might be football and rugby. recognizable similarities and rugby players would be better at football than average people but no rugby player would immediately be effective at football vice versa
Max Kellerman went to Columbia not Yale, For every straight left Conor throws, floyd is countering him with 2,3 of his own by the time that hand comes back, Max kellerman said Floyd vs Conor is like a water polo player racing a free style swimmer.Distance aint a problem for Floyd, Mcgregor doesnt even have the foot work to keep up
No help for cable cutters. Who needs ESPN online for Monday night football if you have a cable subscription? If you are travelling, every bar and hotel in America will carry it. I recomend You to try on ScreenVariety
My prediction: Floyd might give him a bit of respect for the first few round keep his distance work out his timing and his movements, conor may land a few good shots if he pressures him but after round 3-4 Floyd will start the clinic and he won't be able to land anything clean after.
Also Lomachenko is NOT #1 p4p on everyone's list. That's actually something almost ALL boxing fans think is stupid. Dude is 8-1 and hasn't really fought "The Best". Andre Ward is number 1 p4p on most people's list. If not him than Terrence Crawford or Kieth Thurman. Lomachenko on a legit list wouldn't even make top 5 or 10.
I comeback to this video every other month Since the fight happened. And it still makes me crack up watching Boppa talk about the angles and all his shitty points he's trying to make. And he said it all so confident. And after. This fight u think he woulda learned his lesson. But here we are years later. And Brendan hasn't gotten any better as a fight analyst. I think to this day he has only gotten like 5-10% of his predictions right
