Maglovesari Irk? He just never seems to think really highly of himself. The fame and all the attention doesn’t seem to have gotten over his head. Brendon doesn’t seem to think he’s better than other people. He’s honest, has self doubts and simply believes in himself. He believes in us too. I’m glad that he exists. He’s wonderful.
Zach Sang is always asking unique questions that lead to great little insights and gems. Seriously,I have been seeing a couple of your interviews for a while and am constantly impressed by your take on journalism and the fresh perspectives you guys bring. I even dare say I like this interview much more than the first time you interviewed Brendon. Take care!
Totally agree! Zach totally listens to the artists and facilitates really getting to know them and their process and he doesn’t have an agenda but just runs with it, so good.
This was such a pure interview. I'm so proud of Brendon for everything he's accomplished so far. I'm also happy that Brendon can talk about the past band members and Ryan without it seeming awkward or forced.
Isn't that quintessential Panic! though? Even as they grew up and matured and continued to explore themselves and music -- forever and always mixed emotions, restless energy/hunger for life paired with questioning oneself through little stories. ..... The Only Difference, Time to Dance and There's a Reason these Tables are literally about wanting to shake up the world but feeling like try-hards that want to reduce themselves to trophies, suicide and popularity, and passive-aggressiveness paired with vanity..they are all quite dance-y songs. ...... Pretty. Odd. isn't as dance-y, but it still pairs She's a Handsome Woman and I Have Friends in Holy Spaces with upbeat instrumentation, etc, etc, etc. ......Vices and Virtues as an album is literally based on this concept. The idea is you have a blast of a time simply living life, but at the end of the day your mind is spinning with a touch of melancholy or regret or insecurity. .....And as Brendon said, he's been focusing more on portraying this Panic! approach to life in not just the lyrics, but also the music as well through the art form that is an album, by hitting us with those minor chords in End of All Things, welling horns in Impossible Year and the achingly thin Dying in LA this time around.
once a sinner will always be a sinner. i love panic at the disco so much. he got me through middle school and high school i went through a lot of bullying due to a hearing loss and when i heard ballad of mona lisa i was just taken by the vocals and then i heard nine in the afternoon and the lyrics just spoke to me because i was going through something at the time and now im just a fan of panic at the disco he just helped me a lot.
I was scrolling through the comments so far... and why has no one mentioned that girls/girls/boys was originally about a threesome😂😂😂😂😂 Edit: holy chickens that’s a lot of likes😂😂😂
Also, if by whatever chance you're seeing this Brendon, thanks for this. Outlandish tales are fun and half the reason you make us smile, but your authenticity is what we keep returning for....... thanks for making selfish music!
Ohmygod, he's one of my biggest inspirations and idols, I love him so much. He's always so much fun during interviews and I love hearing his thoughts and mentality. Brendon is a simply amazing human being 💞
Can I just say, this man is my biggest inspiration for everything I am or have become, or will become. He makes me want to grow to be just like him, his energy brings so much joy to me and many others and I can't wait to see what he has for us next, and I've always dreamt to do album art for this man ♡ I love his personality and everything about him ♡ Keep being you Brendon! ♡
“Flying by the seat of my pants” “Hes penniless he’s flying by the seat of his pants” - Lin Manuel Miranda This collab needs to happen My Hamilton and Brendon urie obsession just conjoined
The politics talk really made me happy. The part where he said “he’s trying to take out humans” “and I don’t think that’s right” goddamn those words hit me I love him
its great that he thinks selfishly because when people stress too much about what other people are going to think it doesnt end up as great as it would have.
ok as someone who is in college right now for journalism, I've been learning interviewing skills and how to be a successful interviewer basically, and I love watching Zach, because he is so talented. I love that he asks questions that are fresh and new, and genuinely cares about the answers, and also about the interviewee's life and feelings. He genuinely wants to understand them, and I appreciate that so much, because it's different from other media personnel, who are just asking what they think fans want to know. Thanks for being great Zach, as an aspiring interviewer, I look up to you
his vocabulary and use of language after each question is so liberating, his not always saying “like” which most celebrities do. i like how Brendan also explains his art in such detail you can tell it’s pure unlike some celebrities who say “um” after each sentence because they have no idea what they’re talking about.
I love this interviewer. He makes Brendon feel comfortable. It's literally one of very few interviews where I see Brendon allowed to say what he thinks. Other interviewers keep pushing an agenda this guy seems like he truly wants to understand and allows Brendon to steer the narrarive while prompting and enquiring him. I think that's how all interviews should go.
I wish I could tell brendon how remarkable it was to learn about panic. and pretty odd was such an amazing album I've come crossed. I was 14 that time, never forget...
Here for Urie 100%, but Zach Sang is an incredible interviewer, and his little entourage know exactly how to stay out of the way and add some jokes and shit. Class fucking act
I know 😭 I saw him this last Tuesday and he only did one from the Fever and one from Pretty. Odd. He did Nine in the Afternoon in the beginning-ish and then Sins in his encore set. But I need MORE 😭
Trinity Walker Yeah I was really hoping for Lying because I know he’d probably choose that one if did more from Fever. My favorite on that album is But It’s Better If You Do and I’d just die if I ever got to see him do it live.
Kay Daniels I remember in one interview he said if he had to add another one he’d probably want it to be Esteban because he has the most fun performing it? Idk he could’ve changed his mind from then.
Trinity Walker I just want a throwback tour but he’ll never do it if it’s just him 😢 I know it’s been so long since but there’s still a lil sliver of hope in my heart they’ll do at least one more performance all together
Oh my gosh I love what he said about picking and choosing aspects of Mormonism that he likes. He just wants to be a good person and not locked into a religion or certain doctrine that's 100% how I feel after growing up in it and now not being religious at all. Loooovvveeee him
i thought dallon contributed to the lyrics??? to make it more about empowering the lgbt community with the line "love is not a choice". i swear he tweeted about it recently
I like how he talked about the younger generation coming to his shows now. I discovered them a few months ago and now know all of their songs and I'm completely obsessed with Brendon!😂 A Fever You Can't Sweat Out came out the exact year I was born. Something about that to me is cool because Panic! At The Disco started becoming popular then. I almost feel honored to say Brendon Urie's career kicked off the year I was born. That's just downright awesome!❤
I used to only know a couple words from a couple songs from Brendon, so I didn't really care, but lately I've been listening to Panic! so much and I'm now a huge fan
Man, Zach Sang, I am so impressed by your questions and the way you actually listen to your guests instead of tryna find the next question to ask on paper. Great interview!
Love panic at the Disco as an artist especially Brendon Urie but now he's taking his talent to a whole new level and it is great to get a little piece of the real him and a little insight on his music thanks for the interview bro
