Kevin Phoenix there was that one episode where Data took over the ship and put a long encryption code in Picard’s voice, I wonder if he did it 😂 It sounds dubbed but you never know!
I was lucky to meet and talk with him at a convention once. I asked "how is Spot doing?" He reply's "He is doing fine but u know it wasn't a cat. It was a little actor inside" What a funny guy!
He lied. It was a trained rat inside. Called Spock. When the rat died it was replaced with a puppet worked by one of the Jim Henson puppeteers. It was known as the Spock puppet. Honestly, I’m not spoofing just because I’m on the internet 😂
Remember the episode where Data is reciting a security code in Picard's voice? Brent lip synced this insanely long number. Always wondered how long it took for him to get that scene done.
+PrehistoricUFO okay, fair point, hadn't considered that. But I'd still say it takes a bit of effort and more than a couple tries to read the lines at exactly the same pacing as Patrick Stewart.
Mind-blowing and immaculate effect to me as a child, one of them did a great job of mimicking pace. As an adult though I can see in my mind how different Patrick Stewart's mouth would have looked pronouncing those words at that speed, every voice has its own signature.
i remember Patrick Stewart was asked what the other cast members of TNG might do when the series ended, what he said about Spiner stuck with me. he said he could basically do anything because he was so talented. His impressions are frightening
In the pilot episode he was dubbed, because nobody knew he could do this. In the 4th season episode "Brothers", when he stole the Enterprise and locked out the command codes with the password from hell, he wasn't dubbed, that was him, doing this.
Calling Patrick Stewart's wife was EPIC! I was told that one of the cast members said that the fans had originally missed out on how amazing of an actor Brent Spiner was, because he is cracking jokes and clowning around, and yet when they say "Action!", he just turns into the emotionless Data. The irony is so incredible that his character later had the ability to do that (in the movies when he got, and could later turn off, his emotion chip), but the actor was credited for doing exactly that!
She said "Brent' One of the most perfectly delivered comedy lines in the history of the genre. The fact that it is paired up with celebrity status, well deserved fan adulation and absolutely perfect mimicry of the subject is total gravy. I'm so glad I eventually found this clip.
This is golden. I'm not sure which part is funnier, when he says Patrick Stewart "doesn't like it" when he impersonates him, or when he talks about the phone conversation with Mr. Stewart's wife(one of them) and finally the wife figures it out and she says *Brent.* LOL!
I didn't know Brent was that good. I defy anyone to distinguish his impersonation of Patrick Stewart from the real thing. His impersonation is spot on. I laughed my ass off.
If you listen very carefully you can just hear a couple of times it's not patrick stewart but if you didn't know it was an impression I think it would fool you
@@pallando100 Agreed. The story he tells about the phone call "reads" just about perfectly. If I heard the impersonation, I'd think it was Stewart. I could hear that for several minutes, even, and assume it was Stewart. But, if someone called my attention to a possible impersonation, I'd at least be unsure. There are little bits that could be Stewart, or possibly not. Someone who knows Stewart quite well would probably pick it up more quickly. It's still an absolutely phenomenal impersonation. Not knowing it's Spiner, I'd just be somewhat unsure. I could not confidently say it was or was not Stewart. I'd be doubtful either way. I wouldn't trust it was him, but wouldn't trust it wasn't either - hearing the entire thing. Of course, this is becoming more "moot" all the time, with ML-based generation of voices etc. But, very impressive from a human being, still.
I just met him today at the Calgary Comic Expo, and he was hilarious! As he was flipping through another fan's autographed photos he read each name in Patrick Stewart's voice...Lance Henriksen...Katee Sackhoff...ah, Hayden Panettiere. Great guy!
Brent is the most hilarious guy when it comes to telling stories. I just crack up every time. Oh how I love this man. Also, he totally deserves to be in more films! Please someone offer him a role.
Why is he so magnificent? I was watching Independence Day and I saw Brent on there and I was like, " How have I seen this movie and not notice him?" He was amazing until he died.
😮 That mimicry is so UNCANNILY good, that at first - I actually thought it was a trick & that he was merely moving his lips while Patrick Stewart was speaking into a nearby microphone!
What an amazing talent...! I'm so not surprised.... this guy is amazing on film...!!!!! And more so... when in interview.... What an amazing actor and showmanship Respect..
I always loved Brent Spiner as Data (I have a weakness for non-human males... far easier to deal with than the real thing!), but I had no idea he was so good at impersonations (well, at least this one) - nor that he was so funny! Being able to imitate someone's voice/mannerisms is all very well, and can be very impressive, but being able to also be funny at the same time is quite rare. I suppose that becoming well-known as a character in a popular film or TV series is a double-edged sword: you probably earn a lot and enjoy a lot of fame *as that particular character*, but it must also cause many people to underestimate your *other* abilities - and indeed your acting talents in general. This really was an eye-opener for me, and genuinely made me laugh... "In fact, you may call me *Sir* Mr Stewart" :D (And why do I get the impression that Brent Spiner and Patrick Stewart are perhaps *not* the best of Real-Life friends...? ;) ) Thanks for a really entertaining upload! :)
I have no idea why this appeared today but I thought I would listen for a giggle as I truly expected it to be rubbish, but seriously... BRAVO from another really picky bald British guy! Incredible impersonation.🇬🇧🏆🇺🇸
Loved his character in the original ‘Night Court’ TV show. My husband and I wish they would bring back Brent in that role again in the new ‘Night Court’.
OMG OMG OMG I have NEVER seen him do that before!!! He is BRILLIANT!! Well, more brilliant than I thought him to be before LOL I just love Patrick Stewart and Brent! Thank you so much for putting this up!!!
One of my favorite stories is the Duke of Westminster (not the current one) on an ocean liner playing cards. As a duke the proper form of address to him is "Your Grace". So the duke says, "gentlemen, I want this to be an entirely informal affair. You may address me as 'sir'. "
I adore him as an actor I remember when he was on Night Court he was great I can't believe how close he gets to Patrick Stewart's voice damn and may I say he was good-looking when he was younger he's even better-looking now with the gray hair
Spiner also did this wonderfully funny role on Night Court. Spiner's IMDB has him very active. Wil Weaton is an active gamer and vidblogger. Sirtis has a full imdb. Just because you aren't seeing them doesn't mean they ain't acting and doing stuff.
Brent Spinner is in my opinion one of the 5 most talented actors to ever appear on any version of S. T; alone with William Marshall, Lenard Nimoy (Spock, not sure of spelling), Mark Lenard and the 'late-great' Ricardo Montalban. All fine actors that brought a unique and blended perception to the characters that they played. Most sadly, three of these great actors are no longer with us, but I will always remember their gift to the Star Trek Universe, thus I reverence in memory their performances. If I was pushed to ad 2 more actors, they would be Sir Patrick Steward and Mr. Avery Brooks. I am looking forward to any debate on this post. Thank you.
Brent is awesome. The whole next generation series with Patrick and the gang was so enjoyable to watch. The follow up to their stint was less than impressive. They were a great team.
Spiner comes across as the ultimate troll wise ass smart remark comeback king. Total opposite of his character. It’s like it would have been the hardest for him to become data cuz of how different he is. I can just see the director saying Brent stop trolling your fellow cast we gotta shoot, then Brent starts trolling the director
What would Patrick Stewart say if he and all others had to leave earth because it was barren, and Nightrider's car was the only thing left behind that could plant seeds again?
Apologies, but I couldn't find any appropriate videos to put this in, and I had to get it off my chest - Sooty's best friend loves going shopping, that's why they call him Supermarket Sweep! Sorry.
