I was a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan. #15 & his legendary teammates left me crying more times than I care to remember😅. He & Unitas were definitely my favorite "enemy" QBs. I cannot believe that the funeral for the field general of the greatest team in pro football history is NOT going to be at Lambeau Field. If Yankee Stadium was known as "The House That Ruth Built".... then Lambeau Field is no doubt "The House That Bart Starr Built". R.I.P. MISTER Bart Starr God bless our pro football heroes from a bygone era.🏈
Starr was a giant. You wont see it on stat tables, you had to know & understand the era & the importance of that team... this league was literally built on guys like starr. he was a major foundation piece on wh/ the modern sports of today that you see & enjoy nfl wise was built. he was also a grinder & morally strong man. people can discount people like that as not glamorous, but the truth is they were the glue that made the league such a strong enterprise in that era. the era in wh/ the nfl surpassed mlb as amer's pasttime. never wouldve happened w/o guys like starr.... RIP
Qb Stats on a running team are very misleading. The guy could throw it. As a Baltimore Colts fan I can tell you he was as good of a passer as all the greats. His field presence was second to none.
I would like to make a suggestion I think it would be fitting for the Packer organization to start a campaign to place a mark on this man's career. The Packers should paint a permanent marker on the field, where Bart Starr made his historic plunge into the end zone in the Ice Bowl. I think if any man deserves this recognition, Bart Starr has earned it both on the field and off. The simple "G" in the oval would be most appropriate as the mark of this man's excellence. Please let me know how you feel about this and help out in any way you can! Thank you! Leonard Pond
1. Bart Starr: played in a tougher NFL when you could really punish a QB. Huge part in winning Super Bowl I and II. Legend! 2. Aaron Rodgers: been carrying the team since Super Bowl 45. Barley throws a int. 3. Brett Favre. IRON MAN.....When he played for the Jets after the Packers I understand that he wanted to keep playing. However when he went tv and said I am playing for the Vikings because I want to win a another Super Bowl. Just 2 years after he threw an int at home vs the Giants which lost us the NFC Championship and the chance to be the team that beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl. That was painful gut punch.
starr is the greatest packer quarterback with all the titles in the TOUGH days without all the new rules protecting quarterbacks!!! Starr is GOAT in green Bay! No contest!!!
Brett Favre is in that Bart Starr air. He really seems like the guy that will always be there with and for the Packers. Always will be one of my favorites. Farve is like Roger Staubach to me. A guy you want in a huddle down 13 with 4 mins left and 1 timeout. I imagine it would go something like this.... Ok...we need 2 TD. We ain't using the sidelines so they can sit in that damn zone. We gonna let those assholes see that we're gonna score in less than 5 plays. Then our defense will hold. Get that ball back, score and crack open a couple at my locker. Hut Hut..
First green bay packers to win 2 Superbowl in NFL 🏆🏆 special guy in special before my time to watch but I heard many stories about him and saw a lot of his stuff on film great quarterback
Bart Starr won 5 championships in 7 years and NO ONE comes close to that. Believe it or not the NFL did not start with the Super Bowl like most people would have you believe. Bart was MVP of the first 2 Super Bowls. If the Super Bowl had started a few years earlier, I can assure you that he would have won them all. I knew Bart and there was no greater person.
Oh man. Fan favorite? Sure. But GOAT?? no way in hell. Guy is personally to blame for numerous losses with his pathetic decision making. His TD-INT ratio is very average
