My elderly mother, who was a child in WW2 voted leave. I asked her why, the reply was 'I didn't think it would really happen, I wanted to register a protest to the EU which is basically bossing us all around and taking too much money'. It has been hard to get over this.
@@larryandpaul The media treated it as a joke. I think a lot of people assumed it would never happen and voted leave as a protest, without really wanting that. I read a comment on the Guardian online from some idiot saying he voted leave to spite Cameron. I hope this has taught those idiots something. It still really pisses me off when Brexit is (always) said to be something 'we' voted for. No we didn't! A slim majority of over sixties, racists and idiots in England and Wales voted for it over everyone else! Not our fault! But we get stuck with the bill as usual, as the UK has long been controlled by the old, stupid and racist and this is merely their final killing insult before they **** off forever. Which will be soon.
Watching this in 2022. 5 tory prime ministers since the referendum and counting. We're like the tragic mid-life crisis friend who chucked his incredibly tolerant partner for a string of lunatics, and he's just starting to realise that maybe he was the reason for his own unhappiness all along.
Oh, my 4 years on and although frighteningly accurate. It has only scratched how bad it's been. My personal favourite, a contract with a ferry company that has no ferries..... yep, that's beng in control for you!
5:04 The subtlety of the Union flag upside down ( which is a sign of distress , or an insult) at the end was a nice touch. Probably lost on jingoistic xenophobic brexiteers though
Well observed. Never has a country committed such a stupid act of destruction, decay and sheer incompetence on itself as the mad Brexiteers. I’ll never forget Andrew Pierce - so called consultant editor of the Daily Hate - saying “suck it up - get over it” to Kevin McGuire, political editor of the Mirror on a Sky press review programme a few years ago. Happily, this wingnut is with GB News (!) so nobody knows who he is.
Love you guys! I smile when I hear that Boris thinks a Canada type deal can be negotiated in 9 months - that one took 6 years and was nearly scuttled by 5 regional Belgian councils. Good luck from your Canadian fan.
@@larryandpaul Nah ... I'm as southern as they come ... I know it does me bad with all the inflated prices and sea of Tory voters ... but someone has to fight the good fight down here. I know my place (wrong sketch!)
I had my son's proxy vote because he was away. I asked him how I should vote and he said "Leave". I asked him "Why"? He replied that all his friends were voting Leave because they wanted to give posh boys Cameron and Osborne a poke in the eye for a laugh and it was a protest vote because Remain would win easily. I had delivered leaflets and campaigned for Remain and I was dreading going to cast his vote, but he rang me up the night before and told me he'd changed his mind. The irony is that all his friends now want to rejoin because they all have jobs which take them to Europe and they can't travel freely any more. Serves them right.
That's the excellent Chris Cantrill from The Delightful Sausage, and the brilliant Amy Gledhill was the Scottish lass. Check them out if you don't know them already. Bloody excellent pair.
Brilliant, I have just seen this video and will now send it to my Brexit voting family in the UK…who are strangely quiet about Brexit at the moment. You got the Russian spot on, who would have thought…ahem
Where's Wales? Also, I'm English born and raised and I voted 🗳 stay! I Also voted 🗳 for our elected and accountable dear Comrade Leader: Jeremy Bernard Corbyn! I also voted 🗳 for The AV.
I guess the subtext here is that Russia would never allow any of its constituent republics to leave. They’d send the tanks (if they have any left) immediately. Being able to leave like the UK did must be confusing as heck.
