The Brian Auger's Oblivion express live at "Baked Potato", Hollywood 2004. The Band is: Brian Auger - Hammond Organ, Keyboards and Electric piano Savannah Grace Auger - Vocals Derek Frank - Bass Karma D. Auger - Drums
I saw Brian at this venue (Baked Potato) the past Saturday night, what a great place to see him, up close and personal. This man and his band are amazing. I've been a fan for 40 yrs and he did NOT disappoint at all. He plays here often and I will be back to see him
Brian is a somewhat overlooked keyboard genius... this is a fantastic rendition of the McCann classic. Great to see his son & daughter also ‘keepin’ it real’, wonderful stuff!
The only way his children could keep it real would be to step off stage. Nepotism at it's worst. Get a couple of pros, Brian! You deserve them. As for his daughter "really moves", Really?
@@patricktruchon9153 I my opinion both his children are a fantastic augmentation.I was privileged to see them live in Australia & would have loved to have seen a second performance.
Me either, followed his whole career, way back. Probably 1 of best B-3 players left on this planet. Saw him once. Wish I had seen again. Keep going back to the “Closer to it” alp/cd, love the live & studio versions. Cool his adult children play/sing with him
I can only wish to have that kind of talent and to enjoy it as much as Auger obviously does . . . (not to mention the relationship with his children) . . . He is blessed.
Love this performance! Been digging Brian Auger’s version of this tune since the Oblivion Express Closer to It album 46 (!) years ago. This one is just joyous.
Brian's playing is so soulful and grooving. Those dazzling right hand lines get all the attention but check out his left hand: it is just a rock solid groove machine. There is nothing haphazard about it. It lays the foundation for those amazing solos. Thank You Brian!
Killer keyboard player. Don't understand why he is not more popular than he is. I am a big fan since the early 70's. Had the opportunity to meet him and chat!
Love this performance of Compared to What! Brian's daughter really sings great! Please listen to the entire track to hear her go into the higher gear at the end, she's awesome!!! Brian and his son on drums, sound amazing! I hope to hear them on their spring 2020 tour. Man, Brian Auger is now 80 years old. He's amazing!!!
hadn't heard of him until about a year ago and someone was saying Brian Auger and The Trinity was what was on the turntable back in the swinging 60's. Gave him a listen and I can see why. Wow!
Cosmic song, listened to the Les/Eddie version probably a hundred times back in the 70's - and VERY pertinent today as well - I love his daughter and his song is rolling with it on the drums - and of course Brian is a Master
I have the whole concert on DVD. Loved Oblivion Express the first time I heard them in my teens and bought the Closer to It album. I thought Brian was phenomenal on keyboards and later bought the album Second Wind. I was blown away by Karma’s incredible drumming. I had always thought Keith Moon was the ultimate drummer. I have to say as a drummer myself, I have never heard anyone that’s even in the same building with Karma except Neil Peart. Lastly, Savannah Grace can really belt out a song. She sang Light my Fire on the DVD and she nailed with the entire band and I have watched it many times. The bassist I think is Derek Frank and he is great too. So glad I bought the DVD with CD. Savannah obviously stays very healthy. Most were enjoying beer n drinks, but she only drinks bottled water. It shows. Beautiful lady and ultra talented family!!!!
these young people have old souls or they've been here in another life. They totally embody the spirit and sound of the seventies.I like the way savanah weaves in and out of the music. she's not all over it the way some singers would try and take over the spotlight. you hear her and you think of Lydia Pense from cold blood, the same style...awsome. give her a chance, she can only get better. karma, well what can I say, i am an admirer of his work with Coryell- Auger-Sample trio,(another great group). the bass player is phenomenal. I play also and can only aspire to be as fluid and funky as he is. and wonderfull brian, brilliant as always or brill as he says. It's all in the genes and he passed down some good ones. father and son look like then and now, so much alike. I didn't think I would find another keyboard player to peak my interest since Joe samples passing but Brian now has my full attention. this is great music. a far cry from what's on the radio today. bless you Brian and bless you for posting this.
never heard of Lydia Pense or Cold Blood. Looked them up and am reminded of Tower of Power. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mvKHt2GbPx0.html
Saw him live in Chicago in 1970, the opening act for Harris and McCann, at a blues/jazz club on the South Side. Smoked some reefer with the guys in the parking lot. I was a green 19 year old from a small town. The worm turned, you might say, that night.
Loved the show I saw with him and Eric Burdon in S.F. long ago. Hell the tickets were $17.00 bucks. Seeing him at Winterland in the 60's with Delanie and Bonnie badass.
Brian's got it all - incredibly lyrical solo ability, beautiful harmonic structures, great rhythm - one of the best Hammond jazz guys I've heard in almost 64 (make that 70, now) years on the planet. Awesome! Les McCann would approve.........so would Jimmy Smith.
+Guy Merritt He belongs to a generation of huge talented players who made the history of rock, beat, progressive music... That magic humus produced awesome suond alchemies because they found out the way to write modern music... Geniuses, of course.
Savannah is around 30 when that concert went down. She’s an awesome singer and a beautiful lady. Her brother Karma on drums is a little older than her and I don’t know very many drummers with the kind of talent he has except Neil Peart. Moon and Bonham had always been my favorites in grade school, but both passed away in the very late 70s.
For sure again and again I do thank you all "Brian Auger - Hammond Organ, Keyboards and Electric piano Savannah Grace Auger - Vocals Derek Frank - Bass Karma D. Auger - Drums." ( Notations musicales : Bluedreams). 🎼🎸🎹💖🥁✿¸.•'**☆ ╰⊰✿💖♪
Brian's family band is incredible...Brian is real; he's authentic; he gives nothing less than 110% on that band stand... like Charles Earland and Chester Thompson, his playing is visceral and straight from the heart
I dont know if they are tricks . He is the real deal. And he comes to play. And when he does, he can really Manhandle the Hell out of it . I mean this in the best possible way .He won't be stickin a card between the keys when he plays .,No slight of hand and absolutely nothin up his sleeve .
Les &Eddie Harris owns this tune, but this group is a bad ass outta sight Soul genius of keyboard I'm overjoyed to hear them perform a classic......great musical geniuses
Jimmy Smith, Brian Auger, Lee Michaels, Joey and Papa John DiFrancesco, Keith Emerson, Earl Grant, Booker T.,Lonnie Jordan ...some of my favorite Hammond players
