Absolutely one of my all time favorite keyboardists.....love his Hammond work....a fan from the 70s and forever Brian.....I fire up my Roland kit and jam with you for hours brother.....👍❤
Brian Auger is a most incredible keyboard player as well as a singer. The man possesses a very mellow voice that's as smooth as silk. My wife and I saw his band (with his two awesomely talented kids) back in 2004 at the Viking Inn in St. Louis Mo. This gentleman was gracious enough to allow my wife to take several pictures of us together. He's definitely at the top of my list of Favorite Artists. The number of albums he's released is quite impressive! And my world is a much better place thanks to Mr. Brian Auger! God bless you, Sir!
Me as well. It was actually Lp “ Closer to it” that led me backwards to “ Second Wind” Followed him backwards, forwards, & in various artists he played with. I think he is best B-3 on planet. One sadly gone; Jimmy Mcgriff
Brian is a real Hammnond B3 beserk genius and gives his best on live gigs - Saw him in Berlin in 2008 or so - a very impressive live experience! The whole Oblivion Express was always on time!
Despite many legends of 70s are now average players at best, Brian, always was (and is) amazing! One of my all time favorite hammond players. Thank you so much for posting that! :)
wow, I wore out so many of his early records. Brian Augers Oblivion Express, now look, it's a family affair...Just think if he had one more kid...he could play bass, then it would be ALL AUGER EXPRESS....great version of an old B.A. tune. ;-) ;-)
That's his daughter singing. Love these guys since 1969 at Rose Palace in Pasadena. Listened to this song and whole Closer to it LP until it wore out. Have it on CD
My brother's and I would crank this song up on the old stereo back in the 70's with the brew flowing and the smoke rising and mellow out like there was no tomorrow! One of my all time favorite songs!
Savannah Grace Auger - VocalsKarma Auger - Drums, recording, productionDerek Frank - Bass, and I believe Savannah's (ex?) boyfriend, now touring with Shania TwainJimmy Hendrix performed his first gig in London with Brian Auger's band...This guy (Brian) is the real deal - playing with more great musicians (aka: international stars)Brian is world renowned and world respected. At the age of 76 he can do with a few fingers what most keyboard players dream of being able to do in their lifetimes...a true legend.
Gosh! I saw him there at the baked potato in 1995 or 96. And as soon as he played one note I knew it was Brian auger I went up to him and i a complement. Thee baked potato is about the size of my living room. LOL I love his style!!!!!!
I remember one night in 1974 coming home from a hard day's work on a Friday evening, mixing an 8-ounce Manhattan, and plugging my Brian Auger Trinity tape into the 8-track player. His music is the type of stuff I have always loved; after Jimmy Smith, I think he's my favorite keyboardist.
Yes..., I agree with Brian; everybody can find happiness, the important is that we look for it. The willing to choose our self destiny. But... when I listen Brian Auger play songs like that... oh boy, I've got my happiness!! :) Cheers!
Hate to admit it but I just heard this only today for the first time on the radio. Damn good jam, I gotta have it. Just ordered the CD on the group's website. Good Porsche drivin' tune. Rock on.........
Just heard it for the 1st time on a College radio station the other day. I thought it was Steely Dan at first, but it just opened up a whole new level of funk/jazz to me. Hell, I might even travel to Europe to see it Live. Love it that much. Very uplifting!!
Just when you think you've heard Brian Auger's best stuff, he rolls out another ripping solo that shows there's more to come from the B-3 Grand Master...
I know. He his my favorite “fusion “ player. On so many lps/cds. I have followed his whole career. Now WITH DAUGHTER & SON. Second Wind was ou, add for me Closer to it” He played on so many other artists as sessions player. OUTSTANDING. I got to see him once, 1974.
