RIP Mr Loeb... One of the Best of the Best! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us! Thankful it will live on for many years to come!
Definitely the hip groovy kind of music you would find on Fullerton Avenue! Chicago was and will always be my kind of town! These musical geniuses did their thing! Awesome!
Arguably the best smooth jazz album in the last 20 years! Arrangements, melody, soloing, accessible, and a blend of varied of influences that come out with a single voice that says Brian Culbertson. The presentation, IMO, seems to break new ground with respects to arranging and where the soloing is placed. You're never to far from a hummable melody, or a great improv.
Thank-you Brian Culbertson for such a momentous work of creative soulful jazz that included our late Chuck Loeb for the song. You are pure beauty with your heritage, disciplines and original artistry!
When you got the amazing talent to compose/write/arrange/play/produce music like Brian has that itself is a warrant for quality. Then add the magic from Ricky Peterson, Chuck Loeb (r.i.p.), Paul Jackson Jr, Jimmy Haslip, Will Kennedy, Eric Marienthal, Michael "Patches" Stewart and Luis Conté and you get one outstanding song! I totally love this!
i came up through junior high and high school knowing brian and his dad both.brian is so very gifted and i would seriously tell someone who wa s new to jazz and not sure if they where going to like it to check brian out because he is like so totally awesome and god has given him the talent and he is very blessed and thats why i tell all my friends he can play and check him out because he has awesome show quality and performance and on cd both.
Wow!! Brian has done it again. 20 years and still going strong. Here's to another 20 years of creating and live performances! an Loved the filming for the video. Thank you for sharing.
A lady suggested this on another video and I came to hear it. This is one of my favorites too. God bless Brian and his wife. God bless all the musicians. I miss the great smooth jazz concerts we had here in South FL and the greatest jazz station....LOVE.94.
BC, A late kudo on your production of "Another Long Night Out", as I find myself constantly revisiting your 20 year anniversary of the original production, and all of the stellar players on this track, namely the great, late Chuck Loeb...his funky groove and off the chart energy on the track is crazy! I will always remember Chuck with great respect and wish that he rest in peace. Also, you never cease to amaze me with how your able to weave harmonies and textured melodies...not dated, that will forever remain timeless. P.S. took me four years to take your advice, but I finally sprung for the RD-2000, and now hooked for life on Roland keyboards. Catch you this November...keep the groove coming my Brother and God bless!!!
This is an AWESOME song....both you and Chuck do a super job! Can't wait to see you both, in person, performing this piece, and hear the rest of "Another Long Night Out" CD.....
Brian I first started listening to you back in 1997 when I was on Vacation in San Francisco & Portland Oregon. Your music makes me feel relaxed and feel good. Thanks for your gift to the World! E.H.J.
This is one of my favorite tunes by some of my favorite studio cats. Eric, Jimmy, Paul Jr and last but certainly not least, the late, great Chuck Loeb. Amazing artistry and chemistry. Gone too soon, Chuck.
WONDERFUL BRIAN!!! You always seem to amaze and come up with something so refreshing and soulful from the depths of your heart. You have been talking about this release for months and Chuck Loeb and the gang sound fantastic!! You Sir are my favorite Jazz artist by 180 million miles. So enjoyed meeting and talking with you at The Denver Jazz Fest, come on back to Denver and bring along your good buddy the great Eric Darius with you..lol
God I love this track. Live or studio, doesn't matter. Funfact: this is Brian's declaration of love to his old place where he used to live while he was a jazz major. It's also the place where he recorded his first album.
Total Beautiful... I love this video "Fullerton Ave" with clips of Fullerton Ave, Studio Sessions, Chuck Loeb killing it on guitar and Brian Culbertson keys are beautiful, clear, flirty, his phasing is done perfectly and with excitement!!! Brian's music is so intriguing, emotional and full of LIFE!!! My Number One for Life, Sure Genius!!
i love this...it makes me fall in love with ur music over and over again....appreciate the glimpse into the process of creating such beautiful music! my heart is overjoyed....seeing all u guys, with Chuck Loeb and Paul Jackson Jr.....your team...geniuses!
Love how all the parts were recorded separately and then they put it together. Amazing! Great music, Mr. Culbertson. I'll see you in Atlanta in August!
Hey Brian, I've been a dedicated fan since the "early days", mid-'90s... caught you many times at the KKSF-103.7 FM mid-week concerts in the SF Bay Area. You always amazed the crowd with that funky, but smooth groove! Fullerton Ave. with Chuck Loeb is a fitting tribute to your everlasting greatness. Love the video as well!
