I remember watching this game and speech live. Watching it on youtube still sends chills up my spine. I really miss the good ol days and I'm sure Eagles fans would agree.
this speech is the most memorable event in Eagles history that i have. i absolutely admire b. dawk. he is hands down one of the greatest players to ever put on the midnight green. he has been my favorite player ever since i became an Eagles fan. this speech is just the pure heart and soul of a true player and professional. brian dawkins will never be replaced.
my favorite football player of all time. he is one of the most underated defensive players ever. he deserves a win more than any one. once he left philly he has gone straight downhill. if he never left he would have a well deserved ring on his finger after this sunday.

Man...can't believe this guy is retiring. Seems like it was just yesterday that I was a 14 year old kid in the stands watching him deliver this speech. Favorite player of all time.
The voice of Brian Dawkins is the perfect voice to get you hyped up. Whenever I hear his pregame speech, even I get hyped up and I'm not even on the field...lol.
MY FAVORITE DEFENSIVE PLAYER! Damn I'm gonna miss this guy in the worst way. I get fired up every time I hear or see his enthusiasm on the field. He will be sorely missed!!!
hell yea. he's my fav player on defense. he hits hard, covers well, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. an emotional guy who leads by example. gotta luv it!

too bad they didn't take their opportunities. there were like three years they were in the nfc championship game and would have been the favorites against the AFC counterpart and they didnt make it any of those times. 02 Raiders, 03 Pats, and 08 Steelers. Damn shame but it'll happen relatively soon I think (
u no after winning that game and all the celebration, the feeling was soo unbelievable knowing we actually had a chance to win it all (unfortunately it didnt turn out that way), but back to my main point, i am starting to get the same feeling i got then, that no one can beat us, this is our year! this week we got the giants, then the saints, then either the cowboys, bears or seahawks, and then we off to miami!
My favorite Eagle of alllllll time. I'm so sad that he will never see a ring. This team is in a donward spiral that they have no idea how to get out of. HE is the ONE player I hoped would be able to get a ring because of how he played his entire career. Nothing but class. I think it says something about eagle fans that we dont need three superbowl rings or 27 world series championships to be the most passionate and die hard fans in sports. were not spoiled. and we beat the shit out of the haters. brian embraced that passion for 10 years with us. brians heart is still in philly, he was the man here for a decade. and hell be remembered here forever.

Agreed. You always hear championships are so often won when you don't expect it-(Phillies anyone?). Being in last place most of the season,needing the Raiders & Texans 2 take out da Bucs & Bears on the last day of the season,proceeding 2 beat da hell out of our most heated rival shortly thereafter,taking out a tough Minnesota team & the top-seeded Giants in back 2 back games. Seeing him hold up that trophy I couldn't think of another player in the NFL that's more deserving of a ring than Brian Dawkins-(I'm not just saying that because I'm an Eagles fan either lol). I'll agree with the three other teams in the division getting better, but make no mistake about it. The NFC East is our division. And we are taking it back in 08.

This nightmare never should have happened!! The FO should have offered Dawkins a decent deal before he even hit FA and we wouldn't have had to match any offer. Period. Of all players, Brian Dawkins should have played his career out with the Eagles, and retired as only an Eagle. Denver fans - you can borrow "our Dawk", but he will always belong to us...
we rarely run the ball anyway... even though ravens also have a good pass defense, i think they might fall asleep on the run and brian westbrook and buckhalter are no pushovers... either way it would be a great game
say what you want about brian dawkins, but as far as like passion and heart and all that, i'm not sure if there was EVER a player like him, once he gets on that field, everything he says, does, how he acts, is real, hes not doing it for show like a lot of guys, its not fake, its truely how he is, theres something to be said for that. i'm not even sure what the word i'm looking for, but there will never be another, EVER like brian dawkins.

We need another stud defensive end (Julius Peppers, perhaps) to accompany Trent Cole. We also need to get another stud linebacker- even though I know Stewart Bradley will be back.
