A Place to Go for Brian…
Calling all members of mankind who understand that, as a man or woman, we precede the labels put upon us by others. This video is of a friend of mine, Brian Donovan. Brian is homeless and has had many other labels applied to him, which are used to discard, dehumanize and ignore him.
But, one of the things I learned from my experience at the bottom after having it all( millions of dollars, which in this world seems like having it all, except that it’s not) is that we all need help at one time or another.
I did.
And, we have all been discriminated against at one time or another.
I have been.
As a matter of fact, I am still discriminated against many times a week because of my time in a Federal Prison Camp.
Like Brian, I have been given a label by someone or some-thing, like a government agency. After successfully applying a label to a man or woman, other members of mankind just too easily accept the label that a dead entity has applied to a living being.
In Brian’s case, he is called homeless, an addict, a felon and many other labels.
When we allow others to convince us that our fellow brothers and sisters are less than us, we are negating the fact they are creations of the creator.
In this time of great polarization, it is important we drop the belief in labels and recognize the divine spark in each of our fellow members of mankind. If you watch this video, you will see Brian’s divine spark.
Please listen very carefully to the message Brian has for society. This man, who has nothing, and would love to just have a $2,500 car to live in so he has a roof over his head, has much to teach us.
In spite of his situation, he cares about other people, as you will see.
This will be the most compelling video you will watch today. Make the time to watch the whole thing because it just keeps getting better and better.
Susan Miner and I are working with Brian to get him disability, medical care, health insurance, a roof over his head, additional income and the support he needs to get back to life, to his family and his dignity.
If you have something to donate to our friend, Brian, please reach out to Susan Miner or me. Our ultimate goal is to get Brian a home then do the same for other men and women like him who I have met from taking him to the homeless resource centers. Anything is appreciated but we are not waiting on donations to help him. We will get his taken care of, no matter what.
It has been an eye opening experience! Many of the homeless men and women I have met do not appear to be homeless. You just never know.
Like Brian says, it could happen to anyone.
