The Rolling Stones: Brian Jones and The Stones
Brian Jones, the founding member and original leader of The Rolling Stones, had several romantic relationships throughout his life. Brian age 16 worked “The Door” at Filby’s Jazz Club and met his first known girlfriend was a woman named “Valerie Corbett”. Brian and Valerie both age 16, they were together during his teenage years, before Jones became famous with The Rolling Stones. Jones had a complex personal life and was involved in various relationships, but Valerie Corbett is often mentioned as one of his early girlfriends.
Jones's early romantic encounters were often fleeting and marked by his growing fame and burgeoning lifestyle. In 1960, he met Pat Andrews, a young woman from Cheltenham, England. Their relationship was intense and passionate, resulting in the birth of their son Julian in October 1961. However, Jones's increasing involvement with the Rolling Stones and his penchant for partying took a toll on their relationship, and they eventually parted ways.

The new documentary "The Stones and Brian Jones" features several of the women in Brian's life. They speak well of him, despite his troubles.

In recent years, Pat Andrews said she wishes Brian had gotten a chance to live and mature. They were young, young people don't always make the right decisions.

@TheaterPup Absolutely. The poor guy died before he ever matured emotionally and got his life together. Unfortunately, since he was never afforded that opportunity, he is forever judged by his actions as a young, drug addled, confused, selfish, emotionally immature young man with health issues. RIP Brian. We’ll never know how, or if, you would have grown emotionally.

@@mtp4430 I mean that’s the fault of ignorant people who never accomplished anything themselves. Brian accomplished a great deal in the time he had.

@@TheaterPup He sure did. Let’s not forget he died at 27. He was a very young dude who still had a lot of music to contribute. He just had to work out his demons before they got him. But unfortunately, they got him before he came to that realization. He accomplished far more in his 27 short years than the average human being does in an entire lifetime 👍

@@tommywomack9530 Don’t give up your day job. 😂 And don’t be too sure about your own spot in eternity with your disturbing judgement of others. It’s interesting, Brian never spoke badly of his bandmates in public, unlike them. He also helped bring African American artists to prominence, quite risky at the time. There are quite a lot of stories of Brian’s empathy toward his friends, such as PP Arnold. What have you done besides gossip on RU-vid? Worry about yourself, dude.

@@tommywomack9530 I didn’t know the man personally. I loved the stones, but I didn’t study the history as intensely as you have. I say he was “young” when he passed because some people mature at a slower speed than others. I am a much wiser person now that I was at 27. I know he fathered children irresponsibly, and many people say he wasn’t very nice. However, I am not inside the man and don’t know how he felt and why he acted as he did. I don’t know exactly what his demons were, I’m not a psychiatrist. What I do know is that you can’t truly judge someone (nor should you) unless you’ve experienced what they’ve experienced. In other words, don’t judge anyone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes. I’m not a religious man. However, that just makes sense on a human level. I was raised Catholic and I laughed and scoffed at so many of those fictitious stories in the Bible. However, the things that make sense are gems. If you ignore the ridiculous tales and cut straight to proverbs, there is pure gold there. So I give the man the benefit of the doubt. He could have gone on to straighten out his life. He could have eventually matured emotionally. Even Charlie Watts said that he had mellowed and was nicer toward the end of his life. But I didn’t study the man’s pathology as you did. It’s just my opinion. But like I always say, Opinions are like butt holes. Everybody’s got one and they all stink. Including mine. Some men don’t fully emotionally mature until their 40s. Maybe he would have, maybe he never would have. I’m just happy for the contribution he made to Music. It was Brian, not Mick or Keith, who caught my attention when I saw the Stones for the first time.

I will judge him for the misery he purposely caused his own innocent children. Jones was a mile long scumbag and an asshole to deny and abandon the children he fathered and the women he used and abused. It ain't YOUR job to excuse such amoral behavior. Yee are a jerk to tell others what they should feel about such a deadbeat abuser and worthless human dungheap..

This is what Brian said on the subject during the last year of his life, according to his girlfriend Anna Wohlin: "'My most fervent wish is to be reunited with my sons, Julian and Mark. I sometimes feel really guilty and I hope I'll be able to make it up to them soon. I know I've not been a great father and I hope they'll give me a chance to get to know them better'."--from The Wild and Wicked World of Brian Jones

It seems really strange to me that they can always come up with very old footage of famous people from when they we’re young, especially when it’s from as far back as the 40s and 50s, just seems that they just happened to have video cameras 🧐 strange ?

Brian self-medicated with alcohol & substances. Probably coping with manic depressive illness. Which was difficult to treat in the 1960s. Despite his recklessness, Brian didn't get the support he truly deserved.
