Outstanding video! Brian is a distant relative of mine; him and his father have made outstanding stories within the family. Thanks a lot for the upload, it was great to see!
Brian was one tough, strong British boxer from out of the "old school" boxing academy! I always admired this boxer, Brian London, he fought some of the boxing greats, was the Heavyweight Champ for a while, and ducked nobody! If anything, they ducked him. In his long career as a fighter, Brian fought the likes of Ali, Floyd Patterson, Henry Cooper, Zora Folley, Jerry Quarry, Nino Valdez, Dick Richardson, and other British top heavyweights of the time! There were quite a few other good fighters that Brian met and won, too many for the limited space here to list. Brian was never a dull fighter, just ask Dick Richardson. He head-butted Brian several times, opening a bad cut over his right eye, that stopped the fight. I don't know why that ref didn't disqualify Richardson for the "serious" violation of the rules but he did not do his job, and this led to the brawl at the stopping of the fight in Richardson's favor. I always enjoyed Brian's fights, even the ones he lost. He represented Britain very well!
It's fair to say that Brian London had a see saw career. This fight saw Brian climb back into the top ten contenders but his next against top contender Eddie Machen saw him outclassed.
