If anything he’s a narcissist who loves himself too damn much. I already am not a big fan of making kids a jr., but when you keep naming kids after you and deviations of your name, you have a fuckin problem. And he named his newborn son after him to spite the first son named after him. But if I was Brian Jr., that asshole could have his entire name back and I would be at that courthouse asap changing my damn name!

@@LorenCognitaThat's not true Mike Epps calls his kids with his ex wife "old ugly kids". And says his lighter younger kids have "good hair" and the "older ugly kids" are jealous. And Mike adores himself smh. I think Brian dislikes the mother's and take it out on his children. He owed $350,000 in back child support in 2010, Brian didn't wanna pay but he had to and put that anger onto the children. Around that same time he claimed he was going through financial ruin, he also was forced to pay over a million to the IRS plus and extra $500,000 in penalties. Brain didn't have it to give but in his crazy head he thought his children(ex wife too) was to blame bc they needed child support.

My reason for this I bc he only comes for his darker skinned daughter (she is gorgeous) and her momma. He loves the hell out of his younger children from his current marriage. My Father did the same thing. He adopted boys because he had 3 daughters. He replaced us, treated us like we weren't smart or pretty, told them I love you, but ignored us. And now he is gone. I have more painful memories than ones filled with love. My Husband did the same, we had our daughter, and he left me to raise her. At this point, Black Men have a stigma some refuse to shake. I have to be strong despite not being hugged, despite not being loved, I now hug my kids, and tell them they are beautiful everyday. I won't repeat the sins of my Father. I am a Black Queen.

I couldn’t marry a man like that either. His wife doesn’t care that his relationship with his kids is broken; she prefers it that way. She’s probably threatened by his past relationships and what those children represent, even if he never loved those women. She’s worse than he is because a good woman would encourage the relationship and with the way he posts her and her kids and the fact that he is madly in love with her, she most certainly has the power to make sure he has a relationship with his kids, but again, she’s happy with the way it is. My father was married to a woman like that, so I know the signs. She is a trifling woman.

What I never liked/understood about the situation with his daughter is this: his daughter was still under aged, the cousin was an adult; if they slept together, why you slut shaming your teenage daughter instead of beating down the dude who groomed and abused her? That alone shows he is a failure of a parent. And his absence, her looking for love, attention and acceptance from the men in her life, is probably what made her vulnerable in the first place.

Listen this situation with Brian McKnight isnt new. In 2019, his biological daughter and son came out on IG and expressed their feelings about feeling abandoned. Brian came out and slammed those accusations saying his relationship with his children was rocky before he divorced their mother. Then he brought his step daughter a BMW in December of 2022 for her bday. He captioned the pic with "Happy bday to the best daughter ever"(mind you he hasnt told his biological daughter happy birthday in years. Fans slammed him immediately after pointing out that she isnt his daughter! Then his son Brian Jr reached out to him on Christmas and Brian Sr ignored him and posted about his Rolls Royce he received for Christmas last year. Then his old petty ass posted a pic on New Years and captioned that with "Family, 5 of us " smh. And lets not talk about him naming his new son Brian McKnight Jr when he already has a son named Brian Jr. If he was my dad I wouldnt even try anymore bc he doesn't care, and thats the sad part about it.

He said he called the police and never heard back from the police or her mom. Smh What father would put out a story about their daughter that he's estranged from messing with her own cousin. This story is triggering. My dad did a similar thing. He left my mom, married another woman and created other children while kicking my brothers and I to the curb. My dad is dead now. He’s been dead since 2011. I attended the funeral. So many people in attendance had no clue he had other children. It felt weird being there. I went to counseling after his death I went to counseling. Counseling was helpful. I don’t understand how a man can be estranged from a part of himself. I don’t understand how another will be okay with how he treats his kids. It’s just so wrong. I pray for his kids, especially his daughter. As girls out fathers are the first idea of man we have. Black men need ti do better. There’s too many of us broken black women out her. Hugs 🤗 for all my sisters and brothers who’s fathers failed at their role.

There seems to be a theme of passivity in Brian McKnight's narratives... "I felt forced to get married", "She only had a baby with me for money", "I'm estranged from my children because they are spoiled"... All of these sound like he has no authorship and no agency over his own life. You had to say "I do" in order to get married. You had to lay down with a woman in order for her to have your baby. You had to shower your children with gifts in order for them to be spoiled. Yet the story and narrative sounds like these things happened to him without his control and active contribution. And then there's resentment and punishing others for actions he had a major part in, but won't claim. I pray he gets therapy.

@J B what I mean is that if he is comfortable discarding his older bio kids with you, he will do it to you at some point. The quote I took is typically used for cheating (i.e. if you come into a relationship with someone who had an affair on their spouse with you, they have the capability to do it and can do the same thing to you with someone else). IMO if he is comfortable not having a relationship with his older kids and even insulting them publicly, he can absolutely do it to your kids (his stepkids) and the son they have together.

I think the word narcissist is overused but it definitely fits Brian McKinght perfectly. Fun fact: He has a Huntsville connection. He went to Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL. He got expelled for sneaking his college sweetheart (first wife) into his room. She got expelled with him. I'm sure she regrets getting involved with him and marrying him as much as he says he regrets it too. Thankfully, his children have their mothers because they don't have a father in their sperm donor and provider of child support. It takes more than that to raise children. Karma can be something else!

This story is so upsetting cause this currently happening to my dad with his father. After he got married to his current wife and they had their son. He basically push my dad away and treated him like crap. Like sleeping on the living floor while everyone else had a bedroom crap. Fast forward year's later the son he has with his current wife can't produce children while my dad has three kids, and we don't have a relationship with the man. My dad says he can not imagine treating me and my brothers the same way, whenever I talked to him about it, it still hurts him to this day.

I remember him doing a video a few years back talking about this. At the time even I believed him as he was talking about how his children are grown men in their 30s and still relying on him and all he wants them to do is to find a job and take care of themselves. But now that more is coming out, it’s clear that he is the problem. The things he says seem like he’s intentionally trying to hurt them. He didn’t have to say that the new baby is his “true heir”. He also didn’t have to mention in his bio that he’s the father of… (and then proceeds to name only his step children and new son). He knew they would see it. This is so messed up.

It's one thing for Brian McKnight to emotionally and physically abandon his children. I also heard that he financially abandoned them too and his eldest son had to step up and parent his own siblings. But it's next level trash behaviour to constantly intentionally post, say and do things to directly hurt his own children. Like what kind of person does that? His reasons don't make sense. Him weaponizing something his daughter may have gone through is garbage and says a lot about his character. His new wife must be slow or she thinks she will be an exception because her choosing to have a child with him despite what he is doing is telling of her actual character. My heart breaks for his biological children 💔. I hope they find the healing and peace they need to move on.

My father did the same thing. He married my (deaf) mother and had 4 kids with her. Left her with us and raised 4 kids that didn't belong to him. I have zero tolerance for sorry parent's. I think for me it’s as though I would be willing to at least hear Brian out in his ‘excuses’ - but no matter what, even if his kids were breaking into his house and other things, it’s still dishonest and immaturely spiteful to still treat your older kids as though they never existed. Even if Brian has reasons to be annoyed with his kids, there were better and more mature ways to not throw such shade at them while celebrating a newborn. I could never respect m, let a lone be in love with a man that treated his children this way. I was a huge fan of Brian! I saw Brian in June 2018 at City Winery in ATL and he brought his sons out to sing with him. I thought it was soooo cute. I saw him again in ATL July 2022 and he was very sentimental of the child he and his wife had lost. I had no idea that he had disowned his other children by then. I was done with him by Dec 2022. I used to love Brian McKnight and I've met him twice but sadly, I believe most of this. Now, he did try to help his sons get a job because apparently all they wanted to do was smoke weed all day while he paid their way. I don't think it's BM's job to pay his grown sons way forever. However, he have that little girl with someone else while married to his first wife which is not the little girl's fault. If he doesn't like the mothers he should still have a relationship with his kids. If he has regrets, it also has nothing to do with his kids, he needs to do better.
