I never knew mine and as a young woman in my earlier 20s I had a close friend who had all these horrible things to say about her dad and how much she betrayed her and I remember thinking maybe it’s a good thing I don’t know mine because there’s not that level of disappointment I grew up not even thinking about missing a dad because I had my grandparents sent a super loving mother That just made me not even think I was missing anything even though I always thought I’d get married grow up and have me my husband and kids. I always just kind of pictured my grandparents marriage with the literal white picket fence so I’m glad I didn’t have a dad be in my life and be toxic or be in my life and loving and then disown me because they get a new wife and family it’s really disgusting and Hass to be extremely damaging and traumatizing.💔 I hope his children what are your heart can just realize that you tell me he’s confused and not a reflection of them or any of their fault

I stopped listening to Brian McKnight after learning how abusive he was (not physically) to his first wife who was his high school sweetheart. I used to love his music especially after he blew up in the early 2000s bc his first project didn't do that well and so when he finally got his big break, I was ecstatic. I was engaged when Back at One was one of the world's favorite songs and my fiancé took me to a Brian McKnight concert in which Eric Benet was the opening act. It was sooo good. But once I read about what his wife suffered and how he treated their kids, I could not stomach him. He needs much prayer and that narcissism is causing him not to age well.😮 I will add him and anyone connected to him to my prayer list.😬

There was a time when I loved Brian’s work and viewed him as a music powerhouse. This thing with his family, and the crazy stuff that has done and keeps doing, to his children finished me off. They way he has treated his children is a mess. Every time I hear any of this work, I will turn it off or delete it. Babies grow up and eventually develop character. Brian is crazy if he things that this new child will be heartless enough to hate and destroy family the way he is doing. He could start by really understanding the real meaning of legacy. Brian McKnight’s behavior is so disappointing! It literally brings tears to my eyes. I am a parent. I could NEVER disown my child. I stopped buying, streaming, or even listening to any of his older music because of HIS past statements. Not anything I heard in media, but his statements and actions. It’s one thing to find new love. Nothing is wrong with that. However, you can’t forget or erase your older children. I wish him the best with his future endeavors, but I won’t be going near this project.

Brian will be 80 years old one day. He’s going to regret hurting those kids. I listened to both sides of the story. The original namesake did make some mistakes out of hurt and jealousy. Jealousy of loosing the love of a father that was once there for him. It was revealed to me that Brian is doing tough love but going overboard with it. The goal is supposed to be to reconcile the family with boundaries and respect - not completely cut them off.

One thing is true… babies grow up to be toddlers, to be teens, to be young adults, etc., and they may not always be “cute-as-a-button.” I feel kinda bad for his new & extended family b/c they are being setup to never disappoint their stepdad. In real life, these things happen, but it shouldn’t measure ones love.
