Coach Brian Orser talks about his two students who both set new personal bests for themselves at the Grand Prix Final 2015. It was quite a ride! For more on this and other great stories visit cbcsports.ca
It's so sad that in my country (Spain) we don't show the interest that this sport deserves. I only found about Javi because I stayed awake at 4:00 am and I was doing zapping... And oh! surprise, we have a world gold skater who nobody know because they only speak about football in TV. I'm glad that he has this amazing coach but I'm sad about the other spanish athletes, they have to go away if they want to success and it's our fault. I'll be rooting for Javier and Yuzuru for now on. I've fallen in love with this sport, it's really beautiful and all the athletes are really amazing and polite.
Javier is also a popular figure in Japan. We'll also wish for strenuous efforts of Javier and Hanyu from now on. I wish that much wonderful figure skater is born from Spain.
Spain only pays attention to football. like, for real. Maybe a bit of basketball, but thats pretty much all... They only pay a bit of attention to other sports if its the Olympics and they win medals. Idk with badminton (Carolina was from badminton or am I mistaken?), but I also follow figure skating a lot (I am heare, duh), and when Javi won his 6th Eurpoean gold in a row, he had half a page dedicated at the end of the sports pages, because it was more impressive whatever were the football teams going to do (there hadnt even been a match the day before!!!)... (but I guess its even worse with badminton, since I think it has even less followers than figure skating)
In a documentary, Yuzuru rewatched his performance and explain his thought process as he was skating to surpass his previous record. His ankle did not feel well but he did not tell anyone. He said he doesn't want to say it. He said he felt fear for the first time, and he controls his breath and every step to surpass it. It was so deep! His mind is crazy intelligent!
Lovely interview! I love that he talks about Yuzu and Javi with the same kind of passion. I'm so happy the boys are such good friends, and they must be happy they were the first ever to break the 200-point barrier for FS!
That "little Shoma uno, he's a little hot shot, someone to always keep an eye on" comment was so adorable 😄 BOrser as always, so lovely and supportive of Yuzu, Javi and his skaters and deserves the best as well❤
Say what coach? I didn't know Yuzu come out 😂😝. Anyways, we will definitely support him and Javi.. So proud of them both. 😁😆 Sorry, my mind was somewhere else. 😜
