@@mattjones3361that might be the issue. Ford seems to me have much more a fighters mentality. I worry that once Shaw gets cracked he might fall apart so hopefully, as Shaun mentioned, his training involves taking some real shots. He needs to know what it feels like to get hit pretty hard as he’s said he’s never been in a fist fight before
@@Romanus- I agree, I've watched strongman for 40 years and Brian has to be one of my favorites. Really don't want to see him getting hurt. But I also have a feeling Ford might be a bit soft , strikes me as the sort of guy who needed size as a defense, rather than grit, bit of a fast track bully! If Brian lands maybe Ford will crumble.🤷
3:14 he actually said he was 415 not 450. The only time Brian was ever 450 lbs was peak strongman power belly, he's never been heavier than that I believe.
the problem is that he will face big guys, maybe not as strong as him but for sure faster. if he gets hit by a big guy in the face no matter who you are but you go down. my opinion Brian would demolish anyone on the ground.
@@yannickcolot2319yeah, his opponent looks tremendously athletic for his size, whereas brian obviously does not. wouldn't presume that bodes very well for him in mma.
People don’t really understand how strong these guys are and how overwhelming the power is . I was quite muscular and a been a good Greco Roman wrestler in my youth but still had no chance against my brother who was 194cm and 150kg strongman (against my 175/92kg). When we wheee wrestling and I got him down he just beer hugged me until I tapped . And was not weak at all and he was not close to Brian’s strength either
exactly, I think 50 kg is kinda threshold, when you need a lucky shot, nothing can help after that.. my experiences too, I am like you, but my friend was a litteral bear, they just bears off you😂
This might sound stupid , how can Mike Mussolini beat a 200kg guy when he was 65kg in Jujitsu? But you struggled against your brothers size difference? I've zero wrestling Jujitsu background , genuinely interest 🏴🏴✌️
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it'll all depend on how Shaw handles getting punched in the face, or with some serious body shots. If he comes in ready to handle that, and if he can take Ford to the ground, he has a good chance of winning. Personally, I'm going with Ford because I don't think Shaw has that killer instinct you need when you're in the ring/cage. He's just too damn nice.
He did take a medicine ball to the face from eddie hall. I do agree that I'm no sure about the killer instinct though. I'm worried he's just naturally going to hold back. He did rip off a car door when he was rescuing someone so maybe he can tap into that
@@Wonderkid44 I think the fact that Brian lives at high elevation will help. I've been following him for years and was surprised at how good his cardio looked while watching him doing ju-jitsu and the recent MMA training videos.
Brians such a nice guy it's hard for me to picture him in Hulk mode. But I'm guessing once Ford cracks him in the face...we're gonna see the Hulk appear.
Slow? Who cares. The inertia of it would send you flying over the fence. If this guy gets ahold of some poor fellas arm or neck... you're just never ever getting out. He could Probably get regular people to tap out just by laying on top of them 😂
Shaun, I was wondering if you could clear something up for me. I have been going boxing, somewhat consistently since about July. Boxing where I go consists of a warm up, hitting the bags and sparring. I haven't had any proper training so to speak, just what I've practiced myself from what I've seen online. There's 4 coaches there, one of which I get along really well with. Now, there's another coach who has only picked my sparring partner 2 times but both times I have been absolutely annihilated. You can tell from the jump these lads are leagues above my experience. When other coaches pick my partners, it's reasonably even and I feel like I actually have a chance to hold my own. So, my question is, is it likely this coach just doesn't like me for whatever reason and is tryna see me fail or is he just trying to bring the best of me out by putting me up against people a lot better? I suppose it doesn't matter either way as the only way I will get better is if I keep showing up, I just wanna know if I'm feeling a little sorry for myself or if this is standard across boxing gyms. Thanks, Shaun! Great content btw!
One thing I found interesting about the strongmen freaks, especially Hafthor(that Kazmaier has snitched about), was that the guys got scanned, and their proposed dry skeleton weights were from 10 to 14 lbs, Z at some 12, Brian 14 or so, while Hafthor was said to be over 19 lbs at the same size. Sure, bone composition varies, and people have different organic matter and water levels, even perhaps different matrix as far as ligaments, but the difference was big. While I do not have a heavy, or exceedingly mineralized skeleton myself, I have never broken a long bone either, and do have atleast one variant due to "disease related risks/variations"that says I should have more organic bone contents. Some people´s bones are very spongy a flexy, and they can bend to degrees you would not believe when stressed, and stay in one piece. i remember about a ski jumper who fell really hard, and his forearm looked like a bow, and straightened some 90+ minutes or so later.
Brian Shaw is clearly not a technical fighter in ANY way. HOWEVER…. If for whatever reason Brian Shaw was to take the fight personal and has bad intentions behind his punches, I believe that he legitimately has the strength required to forever end someone with a single punch. Brian Shaw seems like a very calm, gentle giant sort of a guy. He’s the type who probably makes sure to be gentle when shaking another man’s hand so he doesn’t inadvertently hurt them. But he is still a massive, unbelievably strong man who could do tremendous damage to someone if provoked. If Brian Shaw does have a mean streak in him and he is able to tap into that when needed, he would be a serious force for anyone; regardless of their skill level. I used to believe that Brock Lesnar in his prime was the scariest man on the planet. I’m now starting to think that Brian Shaw might be that guy.
Nah, he’s 6-7 absolute max. Hafthor is an inch taller consistently and Eric Kanevski measured him 6’8” in shoes. Brain Shaw wouldn’t step up to the tape because he’s 6-7 max. Also armwrestler Derek Smith is a weak 6-8 himself and said he edged out Shaw. Shaw has never been anywhere near 6-9
@@6foot8jesuspilledpureblood82 That’s very scientific. Why is Brian Shaw shorter than Hafthor Bjornsson who has been measured on camera @ 6’8” IN shoes
Hey Sean. As a fan and sub I appreciate what you’re doing. Real talk business is lacking in social media. Truth has taken a back seat to extreme-ties and we’ve basically bullshitted the public into thinking more is better, bigger is better, size is crucial. Being in shape is the only sign of living a real life. Lots of phony bologny going on with selling booty and extremes to kids and uneducated adults. Once in awhile we run into guys like you.” ☺️💯 work smarter not harder. And muscles just bring you down faster in fighting. 😉👍☕️
Bro you clearly aren’t familiar with either of them. I can forgive you for saying that about Brian, but Eddie? You know nothing about Eddie hall, he could be the doomslayer
ford is on another level above the other three. he also seems insane, which i hope is an act. i think with good promos this type of titan-weight event will catch on.
U hav me more syked than I am for ufc 300....I'm totally invested, Shaun ....u need to go to this strong man, mma, match as a SPECIAL guest, for promoting u are doing an amazing job and hilarious 😂....lulu nyc
When your that big and that strong you're well aware of what you're capable of so you set up mental blocks that make you wanna grab instead of lightning fast jabs , hooks and haymakers . He needs to forget what his oppenent may look like if he goes all out and just do it !
His punches look much better now. He looks like he has a decent enough hands to knock someone out. Looks like he is more focused on the grappling than the striking which in a way is smart because his opponents ground game is not to good.
Brian is a very hard man. He does the nice guy thing but he has less than zero quit. Ford has a history of quits. Shaw over ford mitch over eddie mitch over shaw.
So with Brian saying if it doesn’t happen it’s not my fault it’s the promotion… he seems like he has doubts that it’s going forward because if he didn’t then why even say that??
ok so we know the fight is real, and we know the fight WILL happen, eddie and brian have pulled each others pants down far to many times for it to not happen, if the promo guys cant make it happen we know for sure 100% eddie will. just for that chance to pull down brians pants again.
With it taking so long to train someone to avoid getting punched via foot work and head movement, Brian will catch a few shots trying to get to his opponent. No mater how big you are, some can take a shot while others have an easy OFF Button. Anxious to see Brian training some striking with a sparing partner who is actually swinging.
What worries me more than anything is brian and Martin seem have very different mindsets... Brian's a tamed beast, Martin seems like he's got the dog in him. But it all changes in a real fight so who knows
How would anyone not wanna watch these absolute giants fight , only thing I worry with Brian is if someone like Eddie hall just overwhelms him with punches and backs him up , how would he defend against that especially with Eddie also being just as strong as Brian , anyone fighting Brian would be best of using their hands and keeping distance (obviously that’s a lot of endurance) but any of these big guys could knock each other out , I think you could burn Brian out with a lot of pressure with punches backing Brian up … difficult to aim for takedowns when punches are raining in on your face lol
I don't know if Brian will do well in MMA. Yes, he is huge, and he could easily over power almost anyone. But he just started training at 41. Also, the main reason is that he is too nice. I think he is too nice to hurt someone.
Honestly, any of these Strongmen are greatly underestimated with anything non Strongman related. All of these guys have proved many times over, they have an extreme ability to adapt to things outside their comfort zone and succeed in the very short time they have to train. There's only so much you can learn and do in a few months of training, when most ufc fighters have trained for years and years. Long story short, be prepared to be surprised. These guys are on another level.
Bro! It might not matter, but just imagine if someone got him some CRISPY technique! He could be the baddest man in the world for sure, especially if he added weapons training.. the trick is, it might literally not be possible to teach him how to snap and how to whip. It is possible that he either does not have that contractile potential for some reason and that he is highly specialized to strength as opposed to more agile and coordinated speedy movement like a good striker. Think how bodybuilders get muscle bound and less mobile. Adesanya to me is a great example of the unnecessary nature of muscle. Even pereira has that POP and some gym bro would think he is skinny. I’d love to see someone like the tren twins act up around pereira , I feel like he would just look through their souls and they would understand lol
Brian is never cutting to 300 pounds impossible, maybe on his deathbed lol he’s been pretty much the biggest strong man for quite a while now, it typically weighs more than Thor did by a little bit, 6-8 455lbs
Brain Shaw is essentially a less skilled, more timid, but stronger version of Bob Sapp… I think the fight will play out similarly to Bob’s as well. He’ll fight until he gets hurt once or gasses, then he’ll tap. Ford is much more aggressive and experienced. That said, he’s so damn strong that he could pull off something crazy like a standing Americana or side choke.
Let's be honest No ones interested in these fights kid, Ed has more experience, he used to work the Doors and owned a company in Stoke in his late teens, early 20s etc but I can just see injuries frankly. No idea why the current WSM is fighting as it will only be detrimental to his strongman career
Met Brian shaw at an expo proper nice fella. I always thought he was juiced up until I saw a few interview with other strongmen saying he was a freak who wasn’t on the gear. Doesn’t matter what he does anyways but this 4 man tournament is interesting.
Bruh he’s 100% on. Brian wouldn’t even tell you otherwise. Maybe they meant he wasn’t taking high dosages or maybe it was an older interview, or maybe it was a white lie to promote the sport. Doubt you’d hear that from Brian’s mouth though
All professional strongman are on juice, Shaw and Tom Stoltman are genetic freaks, but to be at the top and withstand such training, you have to be geared up.
