@@uNIVERSEmAN76 I think given brian already has the size and general lifting strength with the addition of access to Devon Larratt supervision, he can become good in 5 years.
He needs training, your delusional if you think somebody can beat levan without any training, brain has potential to be one of if not the " Strongest " armwresler ever, let the man cook
Give the man some time to learn it by feel. Non of us were text book from day 1. There are a few ways to take on this journey, brian knows how to approach a journey, his strong man journey had a high level outcome. Devon will help him properly, i seen him train lots of new people. Every person has their own strengths to apply to certain moves that suit their body. Deven will help brian pin point where he should focus.
I think the biggest hurdle for strongman /powerlifter type of guy is not knowing where they need to improve. They are so predisposed to believe they already have a decent amount of strength to rival arm wrestlers, and good if not better knowledge of how to increase strength in a given area. They think what they need more is skill but this is wrong. What they really need to understand is what really produces and defines meaningful/high-priority strength output in arm-wrestling and train accordingly. This sometimes is even harder for them because they have to drastically switch to some wacky small stuffy(with modest weight to begin with) and ditch what they have long been taught to believe in and had huge success with. Their inner pride will keep persuading them that a better skill to put what you already have together is what you need, not remodeling yourself with some subtle forearm tweaking thingy.
I think Devon just ended up confusing Larry, giving him too many advanced things, and out of order, before he was ready. Hope he can do better with Brian Shaw.
Definitely have Devon train him but like to see another colab w them too for different pov. Of course w Devon hell have Brian c training w different people bc he knows to arm wrestling being at the table with different people feeling different strength and form is way hell do.
To be honest, Eddie was always stronger than Brain in basic lifts. He can bench, Deadlift and Squat more than Brian. Brain is just taller and longer than Eddie, that's his advantage...
I think Devon often overcomplicates armwrestling teaching for noobies. What he coaches maybe second to none for those people who already understand armwrestling. His 3 rules of armwrestling does teach everything required in terms of principles to be a good technical armwrestler. And maybe it's perfect advise for a beginner who isnt already strong. Or maybe it's perfect if he is going to be coaching you over multiple (10+)sessions, where you are pulling against other people and he's instructing you on what to do against that opponent. But when you have someone who is already incredibly strong with ridiculous hands, but you disengage their power with your leverage and pronation and make them fight you without their wrist while saying don't take what's being given to you, it's not realistic to what they are going to face early in their armwrestling career. I feel like someone like Alex Kudecha just teaching him an offensive toproll is going to be much more productive in the short term for making lots of progress. Then when he's really invested he can learn the nuances from someone like Larratt.
Brian Shaw isn't an arm wrestler, he's not really interested in becoming one, and he's not going to commit to the sport. Absolutely ridiculous to suggest he might make an impact in the sport.
He just has to realize that armwrestling is like a trust fall, and I bet it's hard for him, a 400+ pound man to trust that he can be held up by his arm if he just falls over on purpose. haha
Derek Smith is toying with him and people think he'll ever beat Levan ? Lol ! Why, cause he is taller ? By that logic Derek Smith would also beat Levan, he is the same height as show, almost same frame and is a pro arm wrestler all his life unlike Shaw, but Levan won't even feel him on the table. Revaz obliterated him. Americans are SOOOO delusional ! Shaw will never beat Revaz, let alone Levan.
Ohh.. if Brian Shaw lears that explosive start at the GO .... and with some basics and techniques .. RIP anybody I guess cause his power is already on next level
He won't be beated by a strongman without any arm wrestling experience anytime soon. In fact, I doubt Shaw would even be able to give Levan a tough fight.
@@assman7218 but imagine he does... All levan fans agreed when he beat Devon that strength trumps everything. No way is levan stronger than. The strongest man in the WORLD 🌎🌎🌎
@@Czarkazmx Sure, Brian can beat Levan in a strongman competition since that's a sport he dominated for years. However, we are talking about arm wrestling. Shaw has never trained the skills and techniques necessary to become a good arm wrestler, while Levan has dedicated almost 20 years of his life to arm wrestling. So no, I'm not imagining a scenario where Brian Shaw beats Levan because that's impossible. Had he started training for AW in his 20's then I could have imagined something like that.
@@assman7218 By that logic Devon should've beat Levan because Devon has been arm wrestling way longer than Levan and is a GOAT in the sport. If Brian can do one thing better than Levan and be 2x as strong, he will beat Levan. For some reason I can't leave a response.
@@Czarkazmx He has been longer in the sport, but he's also much weaker and older, with lots of injuries that have make Devon change his style over the years (that and his own liking to experiment). Levan is also considered a prodigy, attaining a strength level no other arm wrestler has ever been able to achieve. Despite that, both have been competing in arm wrestling for decades... how much time has Brian Shaw dedicated to AW? Even Devon was able to defeat Hafthor, who by your own logic should have won since he's way stronger than Devon, yet Larratt won without any problem at all, and that being while he was slender. Brian Shaw is strong, but not strong in the areas needed for arm wrestling and he won't be defeating Devon in a real arm wrestling match, much less Levan. You can create any fake scenario and believe Shaw would win against any other arm wrestler if you want. In fact, I really doubt Shaw would stick in the AW world. He isn't the first strongman/powerlifter who has been hyped and surely won't be the last.
