I find the bridge unnecessary, very repetitive, and make the set more expensive If the set didn't have it, I would have bought it instantly

Idk. I would rather sacrifice the bridge and instead add two more unique coaches/cars/carriages/wagons. As it is now, the train itself does not appear to me appealing enough and the bridge comes across as a mild waste of parts.

I wish it was just the train. Would have been cheaper too if they eliminated the bridge.

This would be an insta buy for me without the bridge. The bridge looks very nice, but I’d want to make a setup with this, and the bridge wouldn’t work with it. I’ll just have to source the bricks later to just have the engine and cars. It looks awesome.

They should have released them as 2 separate sets!

Great build, but the bridge is just too big for me, I don't have enough space for it. I am looking forward Harbormaster's Office, kind of opportunity to buy something like fisherman's house.

It’s really disappointing that the unnecessary trestle pushed the price out of my range. If it didn’t have the bridge I’d buy it right away.

... Is it a bad idea for me to buy 8 or so to make a full track? 😂

The engine looks fantastic, but I'm not a fan of the repetitive trestle build as it inreases the overall cost and takes parts that could've otherwise been spent adding more detail/cars to the locomotive. I think if the trestle was simply halved in height it would've been the best of both worlds, elseway it seems I'll unfortunately have to miss out on another awesome railway themed BDP set since this is nearly the same price as the Orient Express with less parts overall and far more parts put into the display than ultimately necessary.

Unfortunately the stubbornness to keep the part intensive and repetitive trestle "bridge" instead of focusing more on the train, will lead many people including myself to not buy this set. A pity, as we rarely see official LEGO trains that can be motorized especially with magnetic couplings nowadays.

Seeing it motorized and in the train engine shed from series 1 would be cool

How easy would it be to build the bridge without the bend? Considering this one but that curve would be REALLY hard to find track for, but REALLY easy if it wasnt a curve and it was nice and straight. Also far simpler to fit on a shelf without that strange bend. This set is so annoying, why build a bridge that does not use lego curved track? Why even have the bridge in the first place when you could have used those parts to build a huge train with about eight wagons? Just think, For 2700 pieces we could have had an EMERALD NIGHT WITH FIVE CARRIAGES...but we get a tiny train with a huge waste of bricks bridge that isnt even strong enough to be used as a bridge?????...And the designer claims to be a train specialist?????

In my opinion it's just sad that people prefer the set that includes mainly wood and small locomotive just because it's a train instead of some other ideas that lost for example Italian Villa :(

More special limited exclusive collectible Lego for rich adults! If we go logging, "thunder in the woods", this shouldn't be a mere 0-4-0 saddle tank engine. Go for the real deal, which is either a Heisler or a Shay.

Fact, railways never goes up, they are always flat, because earth is flat. A train never goes up.
