Maybe. But a beach wedding dress probably shouldn't have a tulle train. Can you imagine how dirty her dress would've been by the end of it?

So much drama.... whichever dress you get married in ... and great if it,s your mum,s for sentimental reasons... it will have no bearing on the life that,s ahead of you with your husband. It,s one day ,one dress ... enjoy it .... but look to the future ahead of you more.

Could be that she places more value on pleasing her mother than choosing a new dress. It's only a dress, for heaven's sake. Twelve hours on, then banished to the attic. If she can do that little bit for her mother, God bless her.

I mean I would understand this sentiment more if the mother was actually being mean, I think in this case she was trying to support her daughter but had such strong feelings about her own dress as well, and she didn't want them to get in the way of her daughter's decision. The daughter I think chose the borrowed dress because A.) it did look like the dress she wanted and B.) she wanted to make her mother happy and to show her love and appreciation for how well her parents have raised her. There are times on these shows when the mother is definitely forcing the daughter or gaslighting her into making a decision. I think in this instance the daughter did something sweet, because her family is so meaningful to her and she wanted to express that. Plus this dress actually came-out quite pretty, unlike some others on this show.

@@skitty449 The Mother didn't hear her Daughter, undoubtedly. Moms dress was " her and mom", The new dress was " her and her husband". That ought to have settled it. It's still Moms Glory Days, still Moms Dress! FOR land sake, she liked her dress so good she needed to hang it on a dummy in her bedroom and look at it.

Sadly many of the mind just can't let go of their daughters. As important as a dress is... Many forget it's the marriage that's important. The time and effort needs to go into the relationship. Not a dress

Please, rewatch and listen carefully. The Daughter loved her new Dress. She felt it represented " her and her love " and moms dress represented "her and mom". That ought to have settled it.

I genuinely think it is the old dress remade because it's so poorly made. A bought dress would not have wonky straps like that. Thing is whoever sews the remade dresses on this show always does such a poor job, feel sorry for the brides wearing them tbh

Diana F I agree she was attached to the dress but maybe it held sentiment for her. I think she chose that dress because of mom's reaction. Her mom did say that she had not cried since titanic 😂 Of course you want to see her to happily cry😜 But I don't think she would regret it as she said her parents were a happy couple that's not rare but hard to find. I think it's beautiful as my parents divorced when I was a kid. The dress is good luck 😄 Also the mom's lace dress was pretty and similar to the new. Only difference is sparkle💖

I don't think that she could regret this decision. Both gowns looked good on her and were pretty similar in style. The mom told her daughter to pick the dress that would make the daughter happy. It is an emotional situation but sweet because no matter what she chooses the daughter tries her best to satisfy her mothers dreams of seeing her daughter in the passed down wedding dress. If my mother had a gown to pass down to me from a marriage that was beautiful and successful I would proudly were it especially if it were updated in this fashion. My fiancé isn't marrying my dress he is marrying me. He will see me in many dresses but this one should be grounded in sentiment and tradition and surrounded in love and happiness.

The beading on the illusion straps of the new dress looked really messy. Like it wasn't even made by a professional. I wouldn't have chosen it either.

I think she could walk down the aisle in one and wear the other at the reception.

Tastes differ, I always prefer lace over beading and crystals so I don't like the new dress much, for me it's very standard and its decoration, i.e. beading is neither sophisticated, nor glamorous, or stylish, the only good thing in the dress is that the form-fiting hip line complements the bride's body better as the silhouettes of the top parts are the same. But the bride said she loved the skirt of the borrowed dress which even surprised me.

I personally prefer the borrowed 🤷🏼‍♀️

It's so much pressure for the daughter. The mother got to choose her own dress, why not let your daughter do the same. If the mother spent years of dreaming and praying for her daughter to walk down the aisle in her wedding dress, she needs bigger and better dreams.

No respect? The mother was still supporting her daughter regardless. Is it too much for a mom you just ask her daughter to try the wedding dress and consider it to just fulfill her dream? The mother mentioned several times she was fine either way and arguably seemed genuine about it.

This mom didn't really pressure her though. She said no matter what she chooses she'd still be happy. Other mothers on the show are either aggressive about it or use guilt to make their daughters choose the borrowed dress.

I saw that, too. A truly loving mom wants her child to be happy. I think it's completely selfish to guilt your daughter into wearing your wedding dress on the most important day of her life.
