@@manveenkaur219 Yes. I have been to a few and they have been elegant with extraordinarily stunning dresses, gorgeous decorations; this production won't even come close in elegance. From start to finish it is vulgar. Yes, Indian weddings are normally extremely expensive, but they need to look elegant. At the weddings I attended the brides were breathtaking and this one? Chunky jewellery, cheap gowns...not good.

Anyone thinking the mother “worked so hard” is missing what’s truly going on. The mother’s control issues are abhorrent! She planned every detail while her daughter took exams & left NOTHING for her daughter. Hell, she couldn’t even fully give her daughter the satisfaction of how stunning she looked in her dress....I have ZERO doubt the only reason was that the daughter picked it herself going against mommy dearest. The wedding planner eluded to the mom being a nightmare, albeit in a nice way, since she was on camera. Make NO mistake that how the daughter acted at the end is NOTHING compared to how this mother acts when she doesn’t get to have control. Bottom line is the mother is 100% responsible for spoiling her daughter incessantly & thus, she now has to deal with the problems she’s created. $15K+ on invitations people throw away? What a ridiculously frivolous, utter waste of money & a vapid display of wealth 🤮.

This is the ONLY instance, I've ever seen, where a bride just let her mom have complete control of the entire thing! She even let her mom pick out her wedding dress (one of them, anyways)! She could've used a wedding planner, still let someone else do the hard work, & keep way more control that way, but she gave her mom full control of the wedding plans. And saving $ on hiring a wedding planner doesn't matter to people with an unlimited budget.

Adjusted for inflation, her invitations alone cost almost double what my whole wedding cost. I wonder what the florist's bill will look like?

If the daughter freaks out like that if something doesn't go the way she wants it, it makes sense that the mom is picky and over the top with the planning, but mom made her that way too.

I don't really feel that bad for the bride. If she was interested in doing something for the wedding she would have spoken up before it was all finished. I think she's perfectly happy with having her mom do it all. It's a good thing they fit together well.

What a spoiled brat! "Sheesh Mom! I know you have spent huge amounts of time and $$ on me without me contributing at all... but waaaaaaaa!" Sell her diamonds and give the $ to a charity. The Justice of the Peace and blue jeans are perfect for her.

From what I understood, the gown is to be worn after the wedding, at the reception. It's not a wedding dress, it doesn't have to be white, no Indian bride wears white to their wedding anyways. A simple looking lehenga can cost more if the stones are real... I also sense that the Mom wanted to fashion a lot of the wedding details herself, she seems super creative, and I do agree the Lehenga could have been designed better, but it still is beautiful. Everyone who is critical of the daughter, please do note that she praised her mother for the wedding card, the lehenga, and did seem appreciative of her efforts in general. One more thing, often Indians talk much more forcefully than Americans, and that outburst isn't as big of a deal as it's made out to be.... that wasn't a proper saree... so I see how she would feel kind of thrown off. And as for all these comments about having no taste, at least no one found anything bad to say about the decorations her mom had put together... yet I don't see anyone praising the decor specifically. Bit unfair don't you think ??? I do agree about the 15000 Dollar wedding invites though... such a waste!!!

Why do people spend excessive amounts on a wedding instead of using the money for living after a wedding? Have a good ole bbq and have fun while saving a bunch of money.

Indian weddings are usually very lavish. They seem to be quite well off so maybe they don't need to think about living after.

That bratty response at the end was totally uncalled for. Hell if my mom spent even half or a quarter of the price of her money on my wedding day, I would be so thankful and appreciative of everything she did for me. I mean damn... Suck it up sister for a few hours and wear the damn thing. Sheesh

She’s not the only bride to have no input into her invitations or wedding planning. When I got married years ago, my parents picked everything from the invitations to the date, the venue, the food, and even the dress. My folks picked a main dish that neither my husband nor the best man would eat, a vegetable to which I’m allergic, and overruled our choice of wedding cake flavor. Literally the only thing we agreed upon was the open bar!
