Bride Kim is marrying her fiancé in just 4 weeks, but is only just buying a wedding dress after realising her family are fully accepting of her relationship. Catch Say Yes to the Dress on TLC - Sky 133, Virgin 162, BT TV 323
I love how she said that she was happy before, but is happier in this relationship. That’s what a solid relationship should be. It doesn’t take you from miserable to happy, but enhances the happiness you already have.
This woman has perfect skin, beautiful hair, a great figure, and she can't look in a mirror. It broke my heart... then lifted it when she saw herself! I love this show so much!
"You forget you're fat in here. I feel privileged to have this opportunity, may all fat girls have it". I thought this was incredibly poignant. Society is so obsessed with size that it doesn't allow the bigger girl to feel beautiful. Imagine all of those gorgeous, stunning "fat girls" who are robbed of that basic opportunity. Blows my mind. Here's to a more body positive future.
Yeah, and it's worse here in America. I tried ONE bridal shop to find a dress and was pretty much shamed out of the store. I was so heartbroken I left in tears. But, what they don't tell you is, they don't have dresses for those of us who are significantly overweight. If you're over a size 26, you're out of luck. The world just does not want fat girls to feel beautiful. :(
The way her auntie says, "What do you think?" sounds so genuine, kind, and heartwarming. If I were her daughter, I would grew up to be a happy woman with high confident.
@@shanniileah Her mother is probably in South Africa; it's an awfully long way to travel from the UK to SA even for an important dress appointment, so I would guess her mum is waiting until closer to the wedding to travel.
Yes the first dress seemed like the one, and I really thought she'd try on another only to go back to the first one. She was about to cry with the first dress. But ultimately it's what she feels right in. Good on her she seems like a beautiful person.
I think the first was also very flattering, but when a bride is looking into that mirror they aren’t seeing what you’re seeing, they’re having a completely different experience. I’m so glad she felt beautiful in both dresses
as a plus size lesbian i can’t even begin to explain how happy this kind of representation is to me! watching this is just amazing and makes me feel capable of being loved- it’s such a little thing but this is why representation of ‘unconventional body types’ in the LGBTQ+ community is important. thank you
Just a reminder in case you need it, but you are way more than just "capable of being loved." You are WORTHY and deserving of love just as you are, not for how you're perceived nor for what you can do for others. You are worthy because you are you and you are so wonderfully and skillfully made
The voice of the auntie of the bride..... I felt like melting in comfort everytime i heard her!! Sooooooo soooooooooooo tremendously soothing to the ears and soul!!❤️❤️❤️
This shows its not just about the body shape, it is a dress that reflects u, ur attitude and ur journey... The 2nd dress did just that. Family should have little input...
This is the comment I came here for. Her soul just lit up my whole morning. That laugh is one that makes you wanna laugh with her. I'd be her friend for sure, her energy is amazing and that is the most beautiful compliment there is for a person in my honest opinion.
She looks wonderful and I'm so happy for her story. Not to mention that her mom is an absolute sweetheart. Just to correct one thing - South Africa was, along with Holland and Canada, one of the first countries in the world to legalise gay marriage. This happened years before the UK, Australia, US etc did the same. So while it IS a largely Christian country with undoubted pockets of awful bigotry, it is also very progressive when it comes to gay rights.
I agree. Was a bit confused when the asked her how accepting SA is to same sex relationships and she didn't feel as though SA was very accepting. I have to disagree. Having a gay uncle myself, and growing up in SA and he has travelled alot, he mentions how its one of the safest places in the world for gays.
Her laugh is everything!! She is simply gorgeous. AND she looked fabulous in both dresses. These two ladies truly know how to enhance the best of you. I would hop a plane in a heartbeat just to look this beautiful.
Can I please adopt her aunt as mine, too? She seems so genuine and I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to have such accepting and loving family! 😊💛
These two ladies are magicians. I'm constantly amazed at how the right wedding dress in the right shape, fit and cut and, I suppose, fabric can work miracles with the bride's appearance and her resulting self confidence.
What a lovely woman. And it just goes to show you that even women who appear to be confident may be harboring some insecurities. I'm glad she overcame that to find her radiant bride within.
The beginning of the video...that shows that love really has no gender! It is all about energy and just being there for eachother...I so love it! Hopefuklly they will be able to laugh and shine throughout their life
What a lovely, nice, sweet, eloquent, polite and also really beautifull woman. Wish her all the best in life. PS. Her familly has to be fantastic, because of the woman their raised and the woman they set free to the world to live her life in love.
She's so incredibly beautiful!!!! I have to say I far preferred the first one but I'm so glad she found HER dress!! Wishing them every happiness!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I'm so glad I watched this this morning being a biggie girl myself and getting married next year I dont feel beautiful in any dress ive tried. But your right dont give up I'll find it and cry also. Love you all
She has such a gorgeous face, eyes. bone structure. It pains me to see women not accepting their body. It's one thing if you feel ill, but if your body is who you are, honey, confidence IS beauty. It's not the size, the color, the scars. It's your boldness, joy de vivre and confidence that crushes everything else
I just loved that the first words out of her aunt's mouth were 'What do you think?!' with this beautiful hopeful glisten in her eye! She just wanted her to love it, you can tell; she understood that it was all about the bride in that moment and it was so wonderful to see.
I've watched too many say yes to the dress in US and UK. These 2 consultants are the best not just 8n choosing dressed but also in building confidence of every woman. May you be bless
I’m literally crying right now! This bride and her family are amazing! And these consultants just kill me daily with their authenticity and genuine caring! I love this bride!
How can Kim not see how stunningly beautiful she is. And her auntie has so much kindness in her voice and in each of her words. And she is very beautiful too.
I never get emotional watching these videos but man this one got me! The bride was so lovely. As a bigger woman myself I totally related to her when she said she didn't know a bigger woman could look dainty. She is beautiful all around.
This bride in this dress is the first time for me watching these shows over the last few years... that her smile when she saw herself, I got goose bumps. Such love and acceptance! Amazing!
Ive always been tall & thin but watching these makes me cry . The ladies are so lovely to their clients . Their empathy & skill at making women look & feel their best elevates these encounters much higher than an average bridal experience . More please !
Same. When she said how accepting her mom was with the news and when the mom expressed how she just wants her daughter to be happy... Couldn't stop the water works. I love hearing about parents who are genuinely supportive of their lgbtq+ kids. ❤
I am so glad my daughter didn't have to worry about telling us she was gay but her great grandmother... Different story she died last year at 93 and swore till the end.. They are just friends...I felt the same as long as she is happy I'm happy I'm also extremely proud of her
She looks lovely, the relationship sounds like it's fantastic, and she doesn't seem to have gone full on bag of neuroses like so many people do. Good luck to them in their marriage.
I just love these ladies. It’s therapy, and love, and support. They are so amazing and kind to their clients who come in with such raw wounds. And the client leaves feeling beautiful and healed. There’s probably much more going on that we don’t see. I love what is shown. Keep up the good work, gals!
That's what makes me love this show so much more than the generic thin girl SYTTD episodes where the girl's always looked thin, always expected to wear her dream wedding dress, finds her dream wedding dress. THESE women deliver magic and warmth and love.
You two are amazing. You bring women out of the darkest places they have been hiding and pull them into the light of their beauty . I don't know if you realize how valuable you are in this cynical world, but you are.
