All reality shows have an element of being scripted. Lori was always going to mark down the dress from the moment the woman said she wanted it. It's what these shows do to give the audience a "feel good" moment. I wouldn't be surprised if these was a plan with the producers for the friends to push for a more expensive dress so that they could do their part to chip in.

Absolutely not. I have seen this show, and dresses worth 5k were breathtakingly beautiful. This one? No.

Exactly, and the expensive dress had the same wrinkling around the stomach-hip area as the first dress (which would have disappeared when the dress was to be tailored to her body shape). She didn't see the wrinkling on the expensive dress because it was 5000 dollars, and because it had more sparkle, but mainly because it was 5000 dollars, hence the psychological effect of believing that it must be better if it is more expensive.

They have to buy their dresses yet!! She never should have tried this on! That's a lot to ask of her friends! 😢

The girls with the cheaper budgets often want something more simple and no to little beading. This bride wanted something glamorous with lots of beading and emphasizes her butt and her curves…that’s not cheap.

Depends when this was filed- earlier seasons they stocked cheaper designers and things were just cheaper. Later seasons as they got famous they stocked more high end designers. Plus 2k is fine if you don't want bling

I don't think it's a complete illusion. That dress DID look better on her than any of the others. The fit was better, it had more detail, more crystals ECT... And a lot of those details have to be applied by hand. It is legitimately a better dress than the less expensive ones. She was just in the wrong store. Quality does go up with price, but she's also paying for whatever designers name is on the dress. If she went somewhere else, she could probably find something by a lesser known designer, or even have a seamstress custumize a dress for her for less money, and still get the detail she wants.

@@matxalenc8410 The dress she went with wasn't just sexy. It was beaded. It had a dramatic bottom/skirt. Also it's designer. The material seems to be of great quality. All that can be very expensive. She should've managed her expectations by actually researching on type of dress she wanted and how to fit that into her budget. It depends on what you want in a dress and where you buy it. If you want a designer wedding gown you have to make sure you can actually afford it. So I'd say you determine your budget by your preferences and of course your affordability. You have to make sure your taste matches your budget. I cannot say the exact amount you need for a wedding gown what I am saying is that do your research and manage your expectations.

I think they’re saying that based on the stores prices. It’s extremely biased. I think she should have went to a discount bridal store that offered more choices within her budget but some women have a set store in mind that they “have” to get their dress from.

she said that that store specifically doesnt really have anything in that budget, thats a higher end boutique. the consultant 99% of the time prioritize budget, the dresses that they try on that are over budget are almost always because the bride or the entourage picked them out

@@dees3179 stores like Lori have prices in the $1500 or less range. It usually means intro, low cost designers or hitting the sale rack. The problem is always champagne taste on a beer budget or not willing to hit up the sales.

Lori never puts a bride in a dress that's so over her budget. The only reason they did it was because the entourage insisted on it. If the bride had been willing/able to come up with another thousand or so she could have found a beautiful dress without breaking the bank.

This bridal boutique carries designer wedding dresses. It's a high-end bridal shop. It makes sense that they were honest with her. It's definitely annoying that they pushed her over budget but for what she wanted it wasn't going to be easy to find something in her budget at that particular store. It's the same with Kleinfeld. The more you want on the dress, the more it's going to cost. Especially dresses with that much beading. If she was going for a much simpler look she would've been able to find something in her price range. This is why it's important to check the price range of products in that shop before you go there. It's not easy to ball on a budget in such shops.

I think they were caught up in the moment. As a bride I would never put my friends in that awkward moment and take $ from them knowing they will have expenses of their own. And some may have tighter budgets than this bride.

The venue is usually the most expensive, if she can’t afford a dress, what about the photographer, food, flowers, video. I would be embarrassed to ask for a handout from all my friends.

You have to keep in mind the conversion rate, £1500 = $2000 USD, but having said that, the quality and general price point seems to be _much_ better in the Lancashire shop. $1500 isn't insignificant, I think they could have done much better in that budget.

It's the kind of stores they pick. In the US they feature high end bridal stores. In the other ones the stores are more mid-range to high end
