They had to discount dresses in order for that to happen in this case. One of the dresses was knocked down from £800 to £500. Just for her. And they were sample dresses, too, which are always cheaper anyway. Stores cannot afford to do this for everyone, or they won't ever make any money. They are running a business. To expect them to do that for brides who just want extravagant dresses for cheap is ridiculous.

@@catladyfromky4142 i think the person might’ve been talking about how in the other syttd shows like ny, they constantly show the bride a dress over budget that they can’t have but love. yes this case is different because they discounted a dress for her, but in general, Lancashire syttd people ALWAYS respect their budget, unless it’s slightly over and even then they still ask.

I went to David’s bridal and I didn’t have a budget at the time and my dress has a long train it’s fitted thru the waist with sparkle and chiffon and I literally paid $500 for mine. I’m getting married in October and I’ve seen some dresses on here in the thousands that aren’t as beautiful as the one I said yes to

The budget wasn’t respected. The shop knocked off 300 because she was disabled. The next person with that budget and no disability isn’t going to get that discount. They felt sorry for her.

@@mircat28 how can you say that? You have no basis for that argument at all. Just because she happened to be disabled and they gave her a dress for cheap doesn’t mean they did it because she was disabled. You have no way of knowing that they wouldn’t do that for another bride.

Other stores in this series sell more high-end designer gowns. That is why they are more expensive. And ALL of the Lancashire episodes are newer while some of the other stores' eps may be older. And, as bridal fashions change very quickly, they may seem outdated or more blasé. And, BTW, each store's episodes have a certain storyline to follow. In Lancashire, almost everyone has a emotional, medical, or physical problem who needs Gok to make better. That is one of the reasons why virtually all these commenters on RU-vid connect with Gok and this store the most. It is the catharsis or gratitude of Gok coming in to the rescue that makes the Lancashire eps. It is NOT an accident, and the producers do this on purpose. I just can't believe that, in this day and age, lots of people do not understand how reality TV is made.

You're right on so many levels. But, personally, i love gok because he is not focused on selling the most expensive dress to his brides but what fits them. And his undeniable talent at picking the perfect dress for each bride is mind boggling. No matter the budget, the crowd or how difficult the bride might be,they all leave with the right dress for them. He is impressive. Nothing is staged i give you that

@@catladyfromky4142 Very true. he is also selling for country weddings so there are more fairytale dresses for garden and manor style weddings, as opposed to a store based in a big city. The designers are also mid-range designers so they're all about the fashion right here right now, where some of the higher end designers will go for more timeless or their own new ideas. In a way I don't like the Gok episodes because there is just too much Oprah-style stuff going in everytime.

I try to avoid Emanuel's episodes. Plus he has an awful assistant, sometimes. Her voice is like chalk on a blackboard and she has said some very insensitive things. I wish the episodes were identified by the headline salesperson. I love Gok and the Curvy bride's women.

Important to consider though that on camera, with post edit, the colour difference may be more vibrant here. In person it may be less noticeable

We really need to praise the store's purchaser for carrying these gowns in the store. If not for this person, Gok would not be able to find the perfect dresses for these clients. And then we also need to praise the manager for discounting the dresses in the sample section. She REALLY made the dress affordable. Gok found dresses that were more expensive initially, so the manager made it all possible.

The store's manager made these dresses affordable. Only she can decide to discount these sample dresses to fit that budget. But kudos to Gok for going the extra mile so that the manager could do this for her.

This dress was not within budget. The manager (owner?) discounted the dress specifically for her. That particular dress - "as is" sample" - was originally £800. And, if I do the math that commenters usually do for the London shop, the price was 60% over budget. So Paula discounted the dress to make it within budget. But someone else would have had to pay the £800.

Gok didn't discount the dress for her, the owner did. And the dress when Gok pulled it was £800, so even he would not be able to perform miracles.

The dress was only within budget after they personally discounted it for her. So, when Gok pulled that sample, "as is" dress, the tag read £800. Only because of the owner was the dress affordable. So, no, Gok cannot alone do miracles.
