Cool video, but for accuracy, You might want to watch a video of actual suspension bridge construction, because a suspension bridge cannot simply be built from one-side to the-other after the towers and main suspension cables are built..., they have to keep the weight of the roadway and bridge girders balanced as they are equally built-out from the main suspension towers at the same time on both sides, so NO- a suspension bridge cannot be built aimply from one-side to the-other. Sorry. For further building documentary, can I suggest watching the building of The Golden-gate bridge here on RU-vid???👍🏽😉
E: Thank you for your contribution. Of course you are right. The video shows averaged (possibly wrong) approach how a suspension bridge is created correctly. (Especially a big one) I'm sorry. e.g. yes, the main cables can not be created in one piece. These suspension cables are manufactured by air spinning. For this purpose, the individual wires of the suspension cables are pulled from one side to the other, bundled into strands, compacted by cable presses into cables and then sheathed But I still hope that you have the Viedeo a little favor.
if the towers and cables are strong enough you can actually go on from one side, this helps adjust the slack in the deck on the far side. The problem with building from both sides is that at times there’s an uneven slack in the decking due to difference in tensile strength of the suspenders, so when you reach the middle there’s a height difference between the two decks.
nothing is easy. This is a very simplistic presentation of how a suspension bridge is created. In reality, this is much more complex, as various factors such as the length of the bridge, load, wind, soil condition, etc., etc. must be taken into account!
Yes that's true. I'm not a bridge engineer - jsut a draftsman. :-) The video is only an overview of how a Hanging bridge how it could be created. Of course, here is a lot of details who are missing. All that would be to much for just a short video. Anyway i hope you like the video.
