part 2 was so much better! altho the gender swapped michael really made me upset. weirdly enough the closing moments of the season made me feel the whole series was over😅 everyone was leaving the bridgerton house and even julie andrews said goodbye to us as lady whistledown.

You should've noticed how Eloise while talking to Benedict at the end mentions she'll be returning for the 'Masquerade Ball' next season. *Spoiler Alert* It's the ball where Benedict meets his partner Sophie in the books. So Season 4 is much likely going to have Benedict as the protagonist:))
A bit disappointed how they have written a very passive Colin for the second part of the show, as opposed to his book version. The "you might say my wife has two maiden names" line from the book was put to utter waste. Even when Cressida blackmailed Pen, Colin's lines in the book would have been the perfect response, his "I love you with my past, and I love you for my future" lines were sorely missed. All along, the narrative I got from Polin (book version) was "she fell first, but he fell harder". Sadly, episodes 7 and 8 missed that mark. The protective Colin in the book was replaced by an angsty one, his anger misdirected to Pen.
They focused more on the Lady Whistledown drama than Pen's romance with Colin. They basically sacrificed Colin's romantic nature for Penelope's girl boss moment.
I realy love the Polin book. It was the first one from the books i read, because i fell in love with Polin after the first Brigerton seaosn. What i kind of like was the kiss and that Penelops mom know she Lady Wiseldown. But what i kind of hate is, that they let Penelople be Lady w. in the end. The bigst thing Peneolpe has step away from specially for Colin. Its klind of she did nothing for Colin. I can live with the thing that Eloise was ther at the end. And i think we will see her Seaosn as the 5.
I feel Luke was good but not great in some of his pivotal scenes, especially playing opposite stronger actors. I also look at how Regé and Jonathan were able to create chemistry with their ladies while also playing out their own storylines with such conviction. I just felt there was a spark missing in Luke - like he got so close to it but not all the way. It was too much angst and nothing more complex. Mind you that could fully be the writing too. Also please don’t cancel me for this take 😅🙏 Note - I have not read the books
He was allowed to be hurt and hurt often displayes as anger in people. for me who haven't read the books I found it was a realistic portrayal, but I do not doubt that there is disappointment comparing a book to a film. I've been there many times alright, so I feel you!
But this is canon lol, there was a very similar scene and (maybe even verbatim) speech in the books. His anger was also canon as he was NOT on board right away
The way JK Rowling had a clause in her book-movie deal- to not let anyone alter the main story line... I wish this author had done the same. This season was chaotic, messy, and confusing. I really missed Polin scenes. I feel like they forgot about Colin A LOT and cut out a lot of his dialogue. They really cut out all of the Romance! The unnecessary threesome scenes, Francesca being attracted immediately after marriage, etc. Sadly... I don't care that the next season won't come out until 2026 😮💨
I honestly wished Polin didn’t have that big of a rough patch right before and right after their marriage. Their earlier romance scenes were perfect. It felt a little rushed after they patched up when they fast forwarded to them already having a kid. Hopefully we’ll still have some Polin moments next season.
Agreed. I think the problem is Colin was mad about whistledown for too long. There were many scenes that they could have cut out to add more time for them to work things out (Preferably before they got married). I really wanted to see a happy honeymoon for them, but that just didn't happen. It left me wanting more happy scenes between them.
Justice for Michael Stirling. Why are they changing the books so much? Now the entire story line will be twisted, her coming back into the marriage mart was because she truly wanted to have a baby and now what?
Honestly, I'm so sick of Netflix doing this with every show. The switching characters to gay and ethnic characters, switching their genders completely! Has just gone completely crazy and does't even seem genuine, to be honest. It seems forced and fake. Fans of the books are excited for the show because of the source material that was originally written. If they want to change the whole story, why not write a whole different story in general where the characters are bi or whatever or make brand new characters and throw them in somewhere. That's exactly why Cowboy Beebop didn't work there ruining the story. I liked seasons 1 and 2. Yes, some things were different. I didn't mind the Sharma sisters being Indian but I think season 3 has taken things too far, making Benedict a bisexual swinger? John Sterling is a blank Scottish English man, and Michael, the most desirable male, love interest in probably all of the books is now a female? They could have highlighted actual Scottish men for the Sterlings, if they really wanted to be inclusive, but they had to make them black for Netflixes image, so sad to say it Benedicts book is probably my favorite or at least top 2 but I'm really not looking forward to it that much because they've tanted him and changed the story so much to prove Netflixes wokness. 😮💨 And in continuation with my rant Colin's romantic speech telling everyone who Pen was is completely gone, they really did Colin's character dirty and Benedicts.
Probably for femenism (i say that as a girl). But i feel like being a mom or dreaming to become one is so hated or undeevalued.... Also, yea they NEEDED representation, so they went with a choice that would surprise people i guess... Like they could have chosen to keep cressida around, give her a queer story?

There was a new showrunner for S3. She (a gay woman) decided she saw herself in Fran's story and even admitted to doing a little 'self-insertion' into Fran's character. So... this is why my favorite book of the series is going to be completely wrong. I'm SO disappointed.
Polin’s story was very good, I liked it. Benedict was dumbed down, I felt bad for the character, and the actor too. Dumb sex scenes with no context, he’s been doing this for 3 seasons now. And lastly, but not the least, Michaela? Queer rep is great, but not at the cost of completely altering the story of such a well written novel. Better to introduce new characters instead. And it makes no sense especially because Francesca wanted children. Very disappointing. This is how shows get ruined, the producers think the good reviews and attention means they can change everything they want to their will, and ruin the storyline.
Literally Eloise was right there also how THE HECK are they gonna get two women married in a REGENCY ERA ROMANCE??????? which was the whole point of the story. I am all for queer rep when it makes SENSE FOR THE STORY (saying this as a queer person myself)

Bridgerton was great while it lasted, but we all should’ve expected this, it’s Netflix after all. I’ve genuinely read fanfiction that was better written than this season and that’s disappointing. Truthfully though, I can’t blame it all on Netflix, the writers were the ones who wrote this, they really ruined something that was good and fun. Tv is so over saturated with forced agenda’s, the whole Michaela thing just felt so disingenuous, my eyes could not roll back enough, matter of fact, I think they’re still hearing it in China. It came off as a ploy to be different and edgy but you can’t be different and edgy when almost every other thing on tv and in movies are race swaps, gender swaps, sexuality swaps. It’s much of the same. Whilst I’m addressing the diversity thing, are the show runners and casting directors aware there are more races than black and white, the fact that almost all the spouses for the bridgerton women are black is interesting, this would’ve been the perfect time to actually have an Asian/PI, middle eastern etc. lead. Just saying. Benedict’s plot-line was just boring and nothing, just sex for the sake of it. Also, this is Polin season and yet they still didn’t give us enough of them, the writers really shoved too many things in there, it’s crazy because Luke and Nicola have great real life chemistry and the writers let them down, almost like they had no confidence in them to be able to carry a show, o ye of little faith. The fact that they waited until the last 10 minutes, maybe less to reunite Penelope and Colin after he found out about Lady Whistledown just annoyed me. The writers could’ve reunited them properly in the first 10 minutes of the last episode or even the last 10 minutes of episode 7 and faced everything together as a proper couple head on when she revealed herself to the ton, and then had Colin go up to her after her speech and show he would support her, publicly for everyone to see instead he was just kind of there. Also out of all the Bridgeton’s that could’ve been Lesbian or Bi it should’ve been Eloise. I don’t think I’m being dramatic when I say that heads need to roll all the way to the unemployment line.
I skipped benedict's scenes. I didn't want to see that. It was nice to see him at the end with his clothes on just chatting like a normal person. I was disappointed. I wanted to see Polin not all these other couples and a throuple
I’ll say this my favourite part of the second half was Portia’s redemption arc I honestly wasn’t expecting her to admit she screwed up when it came to how she raised Pen and I loved how she saw Pen for who she was and who she should have seen her for all along also I loved how Pen’s sisters even came round in the end and somewhat realised that they too were quite nasty
This season was good in all, but there are two things I didn’t like about it: 1. Not so many Polin sex scenes. Only 1 in episode 5 and a 5 second clip in this episode. Even Benedict had more scenes than them and it’s not even his season. 2. The Michaela reveal. I understand that queer representation is important in these tv shows, especially in a show that is all about love in many different ways. But I am not sure if Francesca’s storyline is really the way to go there. Jess Brownell needs to think how this will look. Michael is many people’s favorite leads in the whole of Bridgerton and to replace him with Michaela like that will make many people riot against this show. And against the actress who plays Michaela. Not to mention, the many changes they will have to make in Frannie’s storyline. The infertility issues and being the only sibling to marry a second time. And I’m pretty sure Julia Quinn already confirmed that each Bridgerton season will have an episode named after each Bridgerton sibling’s book. And Frannie’s book is When HE was Wicked. I just can’t see how the writers can change that pattern and fulfill this. If anything, they should’ve made Eloise gay or bi. Her character would make more sense and her own love story with Sir Phillip in the books sucked to me.

The fact is quite a few fans want the books canon couples. While adding queer relationships provides representation, there are other plot points they need to cover or reverse in order for that relationship to work. I'm curious to see what they do, but I'm not feeling the set up. I could see Francesca being more ace or demisexual tbh, with the way she's been all season. This is just my opinion, though.

i didn´t really care for Francescas Season that much, but i agree, the Queer one should have been Benedict or Eloise. You really can not use anything from Sir Phillip with love, it was terrible. and the Benedict Story was just a pretty lame Cinderella retelling. so, jeah, they should get a boost.

I have never skipped scenes in Bridgton but this season I did and I think that says a lot. So many plot lines and so much of chaos and then the disconnect from part 1 made it mediocre at best.
I skipped through all the Mondrich scenes and the benedict scenes and some of the cressida scenes. Why were they so afraid to let pen and colin have their moment?

Totally with you, loved the build up of part 1 but part 2 was far too angry (again and again). Colin is jealous in the book but he would never have left Pen standing alone, or said he was ‘entrapped’ by her. His part was written so coldly. 😢

That's literally changing Francesca's entire story for no reason when her book was perfect. We deserve to see how Michael fell for Francesca at first sight, how he kept his feelings hidden for the sake of Francesca and John and after years he finally exploded and how Francesca mourns John, loses her baby, and grieves, handles the estate, falls in love with Michael, their amazing love story. WE SHOULD BE GETTING THIS - IT IS AN ADAPTATION FFS!

I had visions of Henry Cavill playing Michael Stirling. Now, to my distress they've turned the character into a woman. There's every possibility that she'll become a trans woman in the tv series. Too disappointed for words. I'm done with watching this nightmare.

If they are now making Benedict and Francesca queer Im checking out. I dont have a problem with changing the race or timelines, but making the main characters no longer heterosexual critically changes what the fans loved about the Bridgerton series.

I will say I loved Colin and Penelope's story. I loved the speech he gave to her at the end. It showed that he fully accepted her, in every part of who she is. HOWEVER, PLEASE, PLEASE don't make Michael, Michaela! Please! Michael and Franesca story is a favorite. It doesn't make sense...how, how will they both keep able to keep the Kiltmartin title? Sure Scotland is different but I'm sure the next MALE aire is still who inheritance the title...I'm good if Michaela is Michael's sister...I'll be good with Francesca having someone she could rely on...if thay doesn't turn out true, I really think, sadly, Francesca's season I will skip. I am excited for Benedict's season! I love his character in the show. He's just so likable and charming.
after watching it 4 hrs straight, i just felt so empty and disappointed with this season. There was so many storylines that it didnt felt polins sesson at all. Part 1 was much better in my opinion since it focus around pen and colin instead the whole family. I did like seeing yhe siblings relationship like moments with Eloise and Benedict or colin with his brothers. I dont like the storyline with benedict this season and im hoping they make his season like the books. For francesca, i absolutely hate it bc i thought she had a rlly cute and wholesome relationship with John but then we have his cousin who is a girl which is not like the books. I hated they changed it. Also Violet and lady Danbury brother was def not a needed storyline for this season. I felt it was so unnecessary and added to the chaos. So disappointed with part 2, i think i rlly enjoyed Eloise comforting pen after her marriage, scenes with the siblings are chating, pens mom being a good mom finally, and the breakfast dance since it played " you belong with me" Sorry for the long paragraph 😅 i just need to get my thoughts out for this season
Agreed. Same thoughts, same feelings. I felt like there wasn’t enough of Polin. The intimate scene was so good but I wished there wasn’t such a rough patch between them right before their wedding and right after they got married. Them not sleeping together in the same room on their wedding night was painful. And yes, I thought Francesca and John had a cute relationship. Wish it could be explored a little bit more. We hardly know enough of them. Them getting married so quickly felt so rushed. But I hated that the writers are planning to put Francesca in a queer relationship. Ugh. How does the screenwriter say the next season is some of her best work yet is beyond me.
Glad I got to see Polin’s arc, but sad af about the setup with Francesca’s story. It’s the best book in the series, & clearly I’m not the only one who thinks so. Guess I’ll stick to the book. I have no interest in watching a show that’s so far removed from the original story it defeats the entire plot of said story. They could’ve made ANY OTHER CHARACTER lgbtq+. Why mess up Fran’s story?! 😢

that was genuinely so bad and overhyped. that grand PR campain, hundreds of interviews with the cast online and for what? definitely not enough intimate scenes between main leads (who felt like side characters and only got like 30mins screen time in total). unnecessary plots - the whole Mondrich storyline is completely and utterly unnecessary, Danbury’s brother, the appearance of MichaelA, weird Benedict’s shenanigans and him not mentioning art in a conversation where he was all about it? am i the only one that feels so sad and devastated for Cressida? her mother is physically abused (the bruised arm moment was so painful), she got ridiculed when Penelope got praised for the same thing? unhappy and restricted in her own life, Debling’s absence in part 2. he would’ve been perfect cause he likely isn’t engaged in gossip at all, and wouldn’t be interested in the whole ‘unmask the lady whistledown’ thing and could genuinely support her. i was hoping she would run out to him. or if anything, Creolise would make more sense as the lgbt plot than whatever the writers have in mind (however i’m not so sure anymore after how they’ve complextly ruined their friendship). so terrible
This season was not it! These characters are not convincing they are in love and twisting the books to make these characters to appease the gay community is disappointing. If it’s going to keep up like this do us a favor and warn us. I won’t be watching. I think we came for the heat that Daphne &Simon had and Anthony & Kate and it wasn’t giving. There were wayyy too many story lines shoved in this season too. I’d much rather have seen Kate & Anthony take over again. (Yes I know Jonathan (Anthony) is gay in his real life) and idc what I do care is as a straight woman if I read a book where the characters are straight then you twist them into something else it’s disappointing to say the least. There was nothing romantic or appealing after reading the book about Benedict in seeing him rolling around in the bed with a man and woman. Even if you come back with him settling down and marrying a woman it won’t be the same.

Benedict and Sophie story is the all time number 1 in the series and they made what? Benedict Bi? For what? Shouldn’t have they introduced Sophie and whatnot? It was my last season watching Bridgerton. Three seasons was nice enough run. From now on it will clearly be garbage😅
I don't think they will bring Michael now. Jess Brownell already stated that she's going to make Fran and Michaela a couple and give them a happy ending.

I hated this season. Not enough love scenes from Pen and Colin. Make up was too modern and distracting. Colin not standing up for Pen. Pen and Colin not shown talking to each other enough. Unnecessary side plots. Michaela. It as done very poorly regardless of gender. Takes away from Fran and John. If a rainbow tick was needed why not just have Cressida run off with a woman?
Looking at this comment section I feel like I am the only person who genuinely enjoyed this season. The only thing I am sad about is that we will not have Julie Andrews narrating Lady Whistledown anymore. And I hope for a good ending for Cressida in the future.
agree with everyone on Michael - Michaela replacement, it is unnecessary. I've always felt Colin is a bit lacking in showing her love for Pen, compared to previous leads (Simon, Anthony & George), but he's always protective of her. Colin redeemed in the ending. I love his line: “I simply cannot believe that a woman of such bravery loves me. How lucky I am to stand by your side and soak up even a little bit of your light. If my only purpose in life is to love a woman as great as you, and I will be a very fulfilled man indeed" 😭😭🥰🥰

I enjoyed the Whistledown story arc - I was not so pleased with Colin sulking all through the second half of the season. 🤷♀️ Also: what the heck was going on with Kate and Anthony? They’re back from honeymoon, oh no, they’re leaving on extended honeymoon, they’re back, they disappear again. In fact Colin seemed shocked when they reappeared though they weren’t supposed to be gone? 🤷♀️ Then they hang around for a day and off they are to India. I understand that it’s hard to continue having a former main couple around and that the actors might not be interested in shooting an entire series, but could they have maybe planned it in a way that we didn’t get whiplash watching?
the sad part is that kanthony were available & excited about filming this season. it’s the writers who butchered their storyline :( also, anthony wanting to travel with his pregnant wife for 5-6 months by sea was such bad writing considering he has trauma from hyacinth’s birth and would never suggest this
@@patrickmcguire7896 I didn’t mind them not being the centre of attention. They had a decent amount of scenes, but how they were woven in was just so strange. As if they needed to constantly find excuses for their absence. If they are available, just let them be there in the background, like George and Hyacinth. If they are not available to shoot more, bring them in for a couple episodes and then send them off to somewhere. It’s cool, they had their storyline, they don’t need to be in every scene. But the constant back and forth just felt really awkward.
@@SC-rn4dr I agree. And the pregnancy wasn’t even a great plot point that needed to exist. They could’ve just written them out after a couple episodes (if they didn’t want/couldn’t have them around for the entire season) and sent them to India with the same explanation and then brought them back in season four plus child. The pregnancy had a very strange timeline too, considering they assumedly weren’t pregnant when they left for their second honeymoon and by the time of Polins wedding Kate was showing already. 🤔 But then Anthony rushes her on a several months boat trip that will give them enough time to plan the birth in India? And while everybody says a long, tearful goodbye to the Scotland party, the India party just disappears without a word or a single handkerchief? It smelled very much of wanting to appease the Kanthony fans but not knowing what to do with them.
@@Seldarius couldn’t agree more! it felt like they failed to ‘wrap up’ everyone’s s3 storyline in those last 10-15 minutes. the birth of the next viscount was a big moment for the bridgertons but that sadly happened off-screen like their wedding.
The only thing I don't like about the Michaela swap is the immediate heart-eyes Francesca had... Let her be amazingly in love with her simpatico hubby, then let tragedy strike, which brings Michaela back to Scotland. Heck they could even have Benedict's story next season with Fran struggling with infertility issues/miscarriage as a subplot that stokes the fire for her second-time love story. The way they introduced Michaela feels disrespectful Francesca and John's connection. 🤷🏾♀️
Did anyone notice colin when eloise said goodbye to penelope he knew saying goodbye to elosie would be sad for penelope so he stopped talking to the family member behind him and went and stood by her side and link arms with her to check she was ok when she waved elosie off he was being a good careing husband bless him❤
Well I did enjoy the show it but I’ll be honest i don’t like the direction they are going with Fran storyline I was excited to see Micheal he’s one of my favorite characters and to think there will be no Michael because we had a Michaela??? Hmmm that’s unfortunate for the Micheal Fans of the books 😢

Ok so apparently the leakers were right, GREAT. Let's hope that Michaela Stirling and Micheal Stirling will be separate characters, and that Micheal Stirling will be Francesca's love interest and future husband. Maybe the showrunner did this on purpose to throw us off because they know how much we love the When He Was Wicked book.
I hope so. But honestly, I think they really want a Michaela x Francesca storyline, they probably was testing the waters for this one, but if the reception is really this bad, they could still do an effective way round on it so that they can introduce Micheal (as like a twin of Michaela or something). But would they actually do that? Especially that they really have been known for changing quite a lot of characteristics about the main characters for their push for inclusivity.

Nah, i read the interview with Jess Brownell, the showrunner, she said that including more queer storylines is her priority and is excited to see how fans will like it the next couple seasons. She wants Fran and Michaela to have a happy ending. I'm also assuming we might get a gender swapped Sophie as well for Benedict. I'm a bit upset about these changes but lets see how it goes.
I was so looking forward to see Michael and Francesca together. This disappointed me in ways I could never imagine... I really, REALLY, hope we'll get Sophie - Sophie from the BOOK - because her's and Benedict's story is my absolute favorite, it's my legend love story.
The next season will probably be Francesca and Benedict’s season, maybe a dab of Eloise too. And you know what, with all my complaints, I’ll just rest my case. They fcked up some great details and dialogue from the book in the past 3 seasons already. They’ll do it again and I won’t be as disappointed anymore. All I can think now is that I hope they never ever get to handle Hyacinth’s story ever if they plan to a change a sht about it. Hyacinth’s actress is like the perfect Hyacinth in my mind already and Hyacinth’s story is my favorite book (after Benedict’s), but ffs, I’m already scared on how I might hate the change that Benedict’s story will undergo, I don’t wanna know any change anymore.
I’m starting to not like Bridgerton for so much unnecessary changes with the characters. Go ahead and put new characters and change genders of minor characters, BUT not the main characters!!!! I hope Sophie is a woman (whatever the race i don’t mind) and not a man like what they did with the character of Michael. I’m furious right now, and definitely not watching Francesca’s story, sorry. And they butchered that story without knowing it. I mean Francesca loved John and in the book, she had no romantic feelings for Michael not after he came back from India.But the way they portrayed in the series, it’s like she just settled with John and secretly love Michaela, while Michaela is oblivious. It suppose to be Michael who falls in love first and Francesca too in love with John. That is why she was struggling so much in accepting second love because she loved John and his death crushed her as well as the lost of their baby. I don’t know how they will portray that now 🤷🏻♀️ Also they gave Mama Violet a lovelife. I guess that talk with Francesca will be altered as well 😒
Haven't read any of the books.. But here's my take... Season 3 was a great finale to a love story that began in Season 1. Penelope's crush on Colin and his admiration for Penn. From a friendship to now a passionate love. Truly enjoyed both parts of the entire season.. Not surprised at Benedict, for he has been running around sexing up the town since Season 1 as well.. Eloise is seeking out her passion but wants to be an independent woman like Penn. Francesca is getting married so she can get away from her family. Mama, Bridgerton is getting her groove back... 😀 Can't wait for Season 4.
Personally, I think all of season 3 could’ve been way better. Daphne & Anthony each got their own season so I had only hoped & assumed the same would happen for Colin (season 3) & Francesca (season 4) rather than having it combined. It made the season feel rushed & less intimate (like I couldn’t connect with just that main character). I also hate the additives of Paul & Michaela. I’m not a book reader but given others comments I wish they had just stuck to the book for Francesca & Benedict this season.
I thought it was absolute rubbish. Then I watched it again for the third time it actually clicked. Now I realize the first part was actually quite beautiful between them. Problem is it shouldn’t have been so hard to find out I should’ve just been able to watch it, i genuinely feel like it was bad writing. And as for part two following from part one, it was an actual letdown.
It have good part and i will see the seoens again with my mom. After that i try to decide if i like her or not. i love polin and spicily the book from them. But part 2 is not as good as part 1 to be fair.
Let netflix lose all their followers. We came here for originality from the book. Not some "oh another show to turn gay for represantation" when we did not come here for that. We came here to watch a live action remake of an amazing book. Theres plenty of queer novels they can turn into live action. Theres your gay representation. Leave masterpieces that didnt have gay represantion to begin with, ALONE!
I want to see more of Colin and Penelope's relationship, romance, 🔥 They did not even have 2 intimate nights on and after their wedding. That alone can take its toll on the marriage. How did they overcome it. More detail would have been appreciated. 😢 Too many threesome scenes. I skipped them all. I needed to see more of the Polin intimacy. 😢

I, Personally, Loved it. It was the only season so far (Besides Queen Charlotte) that has moved me to tears of happiness. I thought the side plots a welcome addition, to be honest. With the first few seasons, while we got a little bit of side plot with Eloise and the bridgerton family, I found it frustrating and annoying. It was the same drama over and over again, Making the world seem so much smaller and confining. With the added characters, there were more challenges, more story. I honestly hope to see more in the next few seasons. I want their world to expand. I want to see what things are like for the families that aren't as lucky as to be a Bridgerton. That is the true test of a series or a writer. To expand the world of your characters and make people want more. I think Netflix and Julia Quinn has done that, Especially with this last season. Why ever do you think why Queen Charlotte did so well?? Because it was more of that world than we had seen previously with cameos of beloved characters. That is what was missing from seasons 1&2.
The only thing I liked about part 2 of season 3 was the character of Cressida, I felt sorry for her, her story is terrible and her behavior is understandable, also Eloise knew her situation and did nothing to help her, and also the mother was the one who wrote wrong about the Bridgertons.
Was so excited for this season. Such a great story but the way they executed this series....... I am really disappointed 😔😔☹️☹️ The other 2 seasons were best. And Season 2 was the best. But this season? .....they really lost the plot.

I was thinking the same thing but that ruins the tragic beauty of Francesca's story. Plus it gave us a heroine that knew our pain. The desperate want to be a mother, the unimaginable pain of miscarriage and the fear that a child may never be in the cards.
I was thinking the same thing, after all who gets the title, its important. But this makes things awkward, depending on whether or not Francesca actually loved John or not because otherwise his death will be meaningless
I feel like it's a bit of an insult against the actors that "there was little to no chemistry between colin and pen in part one". I LOVED part one just as much because the actors (Luke and Nichola) were so great at conveying longing looks and surpressed passion. I do NOT agree that there was no chemistry.
I thought this series was abit cringey , however the ending was absolutely brilliant! I think this season was more about pen , then the whole colin romance. Its about her growth and literally blooming into a butterfly. Strong independant woman and all that. I get why theres more focus on other stories in this series because this is lady whistledowns season,who focuses on others.
I hate where this is going. Nothing against LGBTQ but can we just stick to the books? Had no issue with the actors’ race but come on. I was looking forward to meeting Michael!!! I find gender bending unacceptable in this series. No offense. Make new gay characters if you want but I want a straight romance for fran.
It needed another love scene between Colin and Pen, and not that 10 second clip at the end. It needed to be an "I'm angry and hurt but we still love each other" sex scene, or a makeup sex scene. It felt like it was missing. We had all these scenes of him on the couch, and her in the bedroom alone, which should have been resolved with them expressing their love again romantically, with only truth between them.
I felt bad for Cressida by the end and wanted to know more about how things turned out for her. I’m sad Penelope and Eloise never really acknowledged that she had her back against the wall
Part 2 of Season 3 was one of the best written shows Ive seen in a long time for the main characters. I wouldve given it a standing ovation had it been live. The only thing is why did Cressida get treated so badly- what did she do to deserve that harsh treatment?
I'm so confused by the way they edited the season, the pace was so wierd... The fact that there was very mondane scene in between Benedict steamy scenes, way to many balls without actual dialogue or story, it's a pity 😢.
This is like Game of Thrones. Once a showrunner thinks all their ideas are awesome, they break from the source material and betray the fanbase that got it on top. Shonda is always doing to much for a small portion of the audience. I’m hoping the feedback is heard before next season starts production.
After the press and social media build up around Polin , I'm now sorely disappointed with the end result. I felt I was getting whiplash switching from one story line to another, when I just wanted to see more of what was supposed to be the two main characters' season. I also do feel a bit sorry for the cast, as so much talent was largely wasted with plot twists that were trying too hard to engage the audience; an audience of which I suspect will now be lost in a significant fashion. Very little from the way this season culminated to entice me to watch again and I was a real fan.
I felt like this season was a bit of a let down. Neither Season 2 or 3 had the suspenseful intrigue or physical chemistry between the main couple that Season 1 had and I felt myself getting bored in Part 2 of Season 3. I felt like Penelope always had a anxious kind of look to her and it was hard to see her as the protagonist Daphne was for example. The threesome with Benedict was very forced and I lost all interest during those parts. I was I also found that, other than the introduction of Michaela, there was no real exciting cliffhanger at the end. Everything was just tied up at the end with almost too perfect closure. I did like how Penelope and her mother bonded at the end but other than that, I wasn't really "into it".
@@JennyQ12 correct. And furthermore he seemed incredibly clueless that he hadn’t noticed that Penelope had been in love with him for so long and kind of like a doormat in some ways and very sensitive and not the type of leading man material we saw in the Duke of Hastings or Anthony.
The latter part was definitely better than the first. However, we didn't get enough of Polin or the Bridgertons (the show is about them after all). Too many side characters and their stories were unnecessary. I don't know how it'll work with Penelope being unveiled though. We shall see. Their wedding song, 'Yellow' was a wonderful choice. I'm happy Cressida didn't get a happy ending. Netflix, shows in general, need to stop trying so hard with queer representation. Let it happen organically and let it make sense. The Fran and Michaela moment made me roll my eyes so hard. Eloise could have been interested in her instead. As for Benedict, poor thing. Such silly scenes that didn't lead to anything.
I was more invested in Cressidas story than Francesca and Benedict’s. Francesca story was so boring, her husband barely had any lines, and it was rushed way too fast. Why add two weddings in one series. Colin’s face was just annoying to me, he does the same face expression (mouth open) just Ughfff. I just didn’t like the ending, and wished Cressida had a better ending.
Colin still looks like a little boy and very...bland. Penelope looks like an upscaled chubby toddler (yeah I am not woke or body positive or whatever...lets keep it real) and Francesca is easily the most beautiful Bridgerton, who barely anyone seemed to be in awe of like they were with Daphne... and now they turn her lesbian. I am just laughing at this point.
One could almost feel sorry for Cressida. Almost. Yes, Penelope wrote a gossip column, but she was only putting into print what everyone else was already whispering amongst themselves.
Penelope has been my favorite character from the beginning. I was glad to see her come into her own. The first season was good it was done to capture the audience, second season okay but this season included different characters and hinted to different story lines to be developed. But everyone has their own opinion

Season 3 was not upto mark. I was disappointed. 1. I was expecting to see more on the story of POLIN. But it was rushed between the two. Also couldn’t watch the intimate scenes between them, that heat is not there between them. They are more friends to sweet love relationship. Which was shown a bit in part 2. But still not enough. 2. Now, I was interested in Francesca’s love story. She is different, it would have been refreshing to see the love story and her character more before they rushed her wedding too. Felt bad for the actor too. She didn’t get to do much. 3. Too many characters and their stories. Unnecessary sex scenes for Benedict. He deserves good romantic love too. And Cressida, what is up with her story? Where is it leading? 4. After watching all the three seasons, Penelope is the main character in all. She is Lady Whistledown. Should have kept her identity hidden for bit longer. Her story of revealing should have been more shocking to everyone. Like one episode should be made for Lady Whistledown revealing her identity. Everything in this season was chaotic, distracting, no full storyline, no proper love story. Its like they want to end the season fast. One thing I like about this season was.. Featherington family having some good time. Coz they have been suffering. Lady Featherington and her bond development between her daughter Penelope. She became more grounded.
Michaela sterling... I'm so disappointed. I'm wondering now if writers make more money with gay storylines. I have nothing against it and for Benedict I can understand but Frannie ?? No way. It's so different from the book ! I'm scared now for Eloise... In the next season, she'll probably want to change her gender 😅 Without surgery, what a mission ! Polin was ok but everything happened so fast, and part 2... What went wrong with Colin character ? He was odd. But I really enjoyed all the appearances with Portia 😊 Sadly, I think I'm done with bridgerton
I'm not convinced that being Whistledown is more important to Pen than being with the love of her life. The last 4 episodes were a big disappointment and forced the whole love or "career" narrative. I just didn't buy it.
i’m quite upset when Michaela Stirling is introduced. That’s not good for me as I’m very fan of the books version😭😭. No hate for queer woman relationship. It just ruined what it is publish in the book which this series is based on

I feel the polin scenes were a bit too rushed , lots happening in a particular episode , the romantic essence built in part 1 wasnt well passed onto the second ...but overall it was good but i wish they captured the essence better
Well, now we know why S3 was split into 2 parts... Part 2 coming out in Pride Month ... not so subtle in our face, Benedict ok but Michael Stirling (my favorite book of the series "when 'he' was wicked") changed to Michaela Stirling... well to quote lady whistledown aka Penelope Bridgerton "good bye"
Really good wish there wasnt so much sex and queer scene i think it was unnecessary and i really wish there wasnt a love story in every season but it was great overall
