Bridget Christie on The Change and Jerome Flynn - from RHLSTP 453 

One of the best best RHLSTP episodes ever. I urge anyone to watch The Change. Absolutely phenomenal piece of art from the writing to the performances. The filming is superb. Christie, Flynn, Tarbuck, Djalili and Whitehouse played some of my favourite characters. I hope there’s a second series.

I agree with every word and The Change was a real treat. More 'older' women who aren't just mothers or grannies. Let them go on adventures!

She’s amazing

I searched for Bridget after watching “The Change”. Brilliant. my best years 40’s and 50’s I didn’t feel old until I turned 69 when hit with chronic fatigue. I was super active until cf. swimming, biking around the neighborhood, rollerblading. Now my active life is in my dream world. Thank you to Bridget for your grand humor and creativity. 😊omg Jerome from the duo Robson green and Jerome. Such a fan. The quinky dink of frothy milk and pigs. Too funny. The two singers are fabulous Jerome was a better singer.

I'm not going to lie, I had never even thought about the huge lack of representation of people going through menopause in TV and now that I think about it, it's quite ridiculous considering there are so many shows and films about characters going through puberty and the hormonal changes and the strange symptoms of that. I thought The Change was wonderful, both in it's plot but also in it's cinematography and setting. I had never known how beautiful the forests around Gloucestershire were

All the middle-aged ladies I know have been really inspired by the Change. We watched it and then said right this is what we are doing.

Just finished watching The Change. It's probably the best British show I've seen for ages.

Bridget Christie has been underrated and under exposed for too long.

The Change is brilliant. Not just representing older women, but the magical realism and gentle humour of it is excellent. (Not everyone likes cringe-comedy.) Best British comedy-drama since Detectorists.

But they *did* mention the fridge! The other woman says something like "ah yeah, I know that feeling". It was brief but it was there.

The under representation of menopausal women in media is ridiculous and the main take home message. But I never realised that TVs Jerome Flynn was a Vegan Pig Activist, it just seems that ever since Soldier Soldier and Robson and Jerome he has just got better and better.

"When was the last drama about a man with one testicle?" Other than Hitler, like? I can only think of Cold Feet. Jimmy Nesbitt's character.

Until a woman is well into her 40s I feel it is more a perception if age rather than actual age. Because I find women in their 30s get lots of attention. Margot Robbie 33, star of the barbie movie. Netflix fav Lilly Collins, 34. Emily in Paris. Not to discount anything here of course. And I fawn over Bridget she is brilliant and I pay attention to her whatever she is doing.
