Briggs & Stratton governor adjustment 26 hp V Twin with Auto Choke 

No engine work was done just Carb , Turn the shaft going into the Crankcase clock wise push the arm up to Idle . your throttle cable should move free up and down if its in the correct hole . the flat is up over the governor the hole on the half moon is the hole for the cable at 6 o-clock .

It is a 26 HP with a auto choke it is just how it had to be . When I did what 6 other videos said to do it ran wide open not good wide open ready to blow up , this should run off the cable the cable was held wide open and would not move something to do with the choke linkage did it clockwise on the governor and the idler made sure it was pushed up , then it worked fine .

I was having surging issues. the jets kept falling out. ended up buying a new carb installed it all was good until I made the mistake of adjusting the cable attached to the governor ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3FqxJGq_rQ4.html now the damn thing won't idle down correctly. rabbit takes a while to get to fast idle then halfway to turtle it slows down but turtle it picks back up again by itself. it dies in choke which it never did before. don't know what the hell I did.

@@scottt89 Is it a single cable just like Donyboy has in the video ?

@@scottt89 It could be the carb has got a little dirt in the main jet . will the cable pull back to the low speed Idle or will it get hung up between the rabbit and turtle , you can over tighten the cable , or on the Linkage use the wrong hole you can take a photo and email me at blackfoot8th@yahoo.com the linkage where the cable is hooked up and the torque 24 screw with it on choke will see if i can see anything out of the ordinary

@@JCcanU I appreciate the insight/ help. cable isn't over tightened. the choke rod was hanging up. I bent the arm holding on to it that the guy in the video I posted moved up before adjusting the cable and it runs fine at the moment. no idea how the arm got bent in the first place though.

Get a oil seal Off Ebay . All you need to know is the HP it should be on the engine . they are simple to remove and replace .

Give it a Try . If its wrong the Throttle don't go up or down and it will run wide open . How I found out the other videos are Wrong Taryl fixes all has a good video on his channel but not for the 26 hp

DuckerTT did you remove the governor linkage, and have to do it the same way? Briggs Gov the doll pin turns clock wise and the link turns clock wise on smaller engines from my under standing . this is a 26 hp twin v 2 BBL carb

Jeff is an "real mechanic", he just needed a third hand to tighten the pinch bolt and instead of tightening she loosened. Shit happens...

I have fixed everything the last 45 years , We did 2 videos Take 2 was perfect , but the video did not turn out . My point was you turn the Governor pin clock wise and the governor arm linkage counter clock wise pushing it up it takes 3 hands . But thanks for watching

I don't have all the stuff to edit the videos its live , it is what it is Bloopers happen . We did take 1 It was perfect but the Recorder did not record , take 2 was a blooper lol Kind of hard to hit pause with tools in your hand lol
