Yes, but the Halo+ is slightly brighter lumens (900 vs 800).

@@emilio1316 yes it was software related. I ended up having to go back to the previous firmware and that fix it.

no, game mode doesn't work with the crazy manual keystone adjustment

@@9to5toys Thanks, that's kinda a deal breaker for me, I would not be able to perfectly centre this projector, and playing games on a wonky image is a no-go.

What's strange is that I bought the original halo in January of 2000. Until the final update about a year ago or so, my halo would do all keystone adjustments including zoom and manual corner adjustments while using game mode (which also makes the image brighter than normal). When I contacted xgimi they said that the image is not adjustable in any way while using game mode. But, for 2 years mine would work perfectly in this way whether it was supposed to or not. I wish I would have never done the last update. My halo has worked perfectly fine other than the 10 white dots that look like a star constellation on any and every screen or input. I'm sending it back tomorrow to get either repaired, replaced or money/store credit. I have lots of good things to say about this projector including its silence even when right behind my head. Heat is not and has not been an issue whatsoever and I'm still baffled by that. I almost always keep it running day and night with occasional bulb flicker a couple times a day being the only issue with the bulb (possible loose connection inside?). I keep mine on the darkest normal settings as possible (energy saving and soft) because I just don't need it very bright in my dark room and anything brighter than game mode washes out on my wall. I have used it outside maybe 10 times and it always does its job well. The battery still lasts just shy of 3 hours and lasted closer to 4 hours using my settings when I first got it. The picture is still clear and the 4k upscale is a noticable difference when watching movies or TV. No, I don't work for xgimi and have never received anything for free from them 😆. But the halo has surpassed what I even thought a home/portable projector could ever do even though I'm sure the DMD chip isn't performing correctly hence the white dots on screen. I bought xgimi halo once and if I had to I would buy it all over again but probably would go with the 4k short throw if it wasn't so expensive. I would also consider the Elfie or whatever it was called because of its size and capabilities for the price. I had originally bought a 55" TCL tv that went bad within 2 months. I used the money I got back from the warranty and bought the Halo on Amazon (along with 4 year warranty from Asurion) after extensive research on projectors. I decided that the halo was the one for me and I still stand by my decision.

Picture quality is better on the capsule cause of laser, but xgimi, has better saturation and wayyy brighter

If you want sunny day and no curtains, you're looking at 3000+ lumens.

Just buy a TV instead if you want to watch a projector on a sunny day without curtains. 🤣

Actually, I do think it's already portable enough, considering the lumens, built-in speakers, etc. They really made a good combination of image, sound quality and size in Halo+.

Actually, the first setup needs wi-fi, so im not sure you can start using it without wi-fi connection.

I am indeed grappling with a WiFi connectivity issue with my newly acquired Halo+. Although the Halo+ detects the WiFi, it fails to connect, compelling me to resort to an Ethernet cable to get it functioning. Adding to the annoyance, when I attempt to mirror my laptop view via HDMI, the projector demands an Ethernet connection to enable this feature. This has been quite frustrating, and I am now awaiting a response from the Halo+ customer service to address these concerns.
