Just a short time ago, General Hospital aired the two-part memorial episodes honoring the late Jackie Zeman and the role she played for 45 years, Bobbie Spencer.
As part of the story, the ABC daytime drama series, brought back Brighton Hertford in the role of Angela, a reporter from the AP in Amsterdam, who was key to the story. Later, it was revealed that Angela was actually Bobbie's daughter BJ Jones who paid Port Charles a 'heavenly' visit to honor her mother.
Daytime fans also know that Hertford was part of the iconic BJ Heart Transplant storyline back in 1994, where following a tragic school bus accident, she passed away and her heart was given to Maxie Jones, in life-saving surgery.
Now 29 years later, Hertford returned to the show to honor her former on-screen mom. The Michael Fairman Channel welcomes Brighton for a very special chat on Tuesday January 23rd, beginning at 9PM ET/6PM PT. Be with us live.

Brighton, I was 15 years old watching the BJ's heart story. It's one of those stories that became a part of me. When I realized you were Angela...and then realizing Angela was BJ...the tears! It was beautiful and perfect and I'm grateful that GH reached out and I'm so very glad you were able to say yes!

Am I the only one that noticed that it seems that Jackie Zeman has imprinted on her as a child!? She has that same effervescent ,joyous spirit that Jackie had! She was always my favorite. Brighton is such a sweet happy spirit! God bless her future endeavors! 💜

Awesome interview & the tribute with BJ in her honor was the best!!!! Having seen Jackie speaking on her life with Bradford & Steve, she was AWESOME & lived an AMAZING life! I didn't get it at first & then it was oh, its BJ 😮 & in the middle of the night I wondered if it was the girl who played her & had to Bing it & I teared up even more. It is good to see & hear from Brighton & to know she faired so well!!!! 🌈 Double 🌈 how sweet I just missed any clip with Ruby. Luke or Lucky/Lulu & the final storyline of Bobbie activities in Amsterdam was precious, as well ❤❤❤❤ RIP 🌹 Jackie/Bobbie you were/are much LOVED 🥰

What a great interview. Being a child of the 90s, the only thing I remember about GH from growing up was that really smooth Faces of the Heart theme song from then. I came across the show a few years back, and started watching old clips of storylines, including the Robin/Stone and this BJ/Maxie heart transplant. Absolutely incredible acting. As someone who appreciates TV history and reunions and all that goes with it, the fact that they brought Brighton back after nearly 30 years away to do this storyline as a tribute to Jackie Zeman is incredible. Props to the show for having the foresight and creativity to go with this, knowing the fans would really appreciate it. And to hear how much it meant to her as well as the fans and the cast members who are still there from back when she was on. Such a heartfelt and emotional and meaningful experience.

Michael, you add SO MUCH to the experience of being a fan of General Hospital. Thank you for getting the behind the scenes story and recording these oral histories with so many wonderful performers. This was an emotional roller coaster, to hear Brighton's story from decades ago to her return to GH to pay tribute to her TV mom, the legendary Jackie Zeman. Brighton was wonderful as Angela, and BJ's Heart is a storyline that will never be forgotten. Thank you Brighton and Michael for this amazing conversation.

Great interview, she is a lovely person. Did a great job on the show. I had the episodes about BJ’s death on VHS, big Jack Wagner fan, and I cried my eyes out every time I watched it. It was a great, but terribly sad story line, well done by all the cast. What a wonderful surprise to see her back on the show. Just perfect, and you’re right, Jackie would have approved.

So it was the producers that decided to "kill" BJ off. She (or should I say her parents) didn't want her to leave the show. I used to watch with my mother. I remember her death scene.

I was not watching then, but have seen the heart transplant clips multiple times over the years. Tania was hit by a car and died, I watched her death scene last year. The actress played Eve on GL as well. Eve died on GL as well. Bobbie delivered BJ, since Tania could not make it to the hospital. There was a storm. Therefore the parents named her after Bobbie.
