I'm very impressed with the way Levy beats untitled kids using mind games instead of good chess. If he continues like this he can get more views for his fake road to GM series. Smart guy, funny that a lot of the kids watching this have an infinitely higher chance of becoming a GM 🤣

I remember being in your shoes, then I got hooked on Chess opening theory and puzzles, Guess the Elo episodes, then more Chess commentary, and slowly but surely couldn't resist the competitive play. Though I quit for several months at a time a few times, from frustration with not knowing why my play wasn't working as well as other life priorities. My moral of the story, nothing wrong with having some fun... in moderation. Easy to get too carried away and blinded by our passion though.

The win is nice but missing the draw when you only have 3 pieces that can move when you only need to calculate like 4 moves ahead is pretty bad, especially since it was a check and the rule is to check checks first.

One thing i want to point out is how much Levy has grown in the past few months. Levy used to self-destruct in times like this and get in his head. Now, he can shrug off unpleasant or losing positions and have confidence in his play to keep him afloat. Big time plays.

My 11 year old’s ended up on steroids and ventolin/salbutamol to get over it (France) similarly a colleague in Germany’s still struggling with something similar. (Plus there’s also the Olympics having brought 205 nations together in one place). Italy’s got a great primary healthcare system.
