I love KS man. He really got me going to turn over my wardrobe in my late 20’s following the pandemic. I always liked wearing great clothes and dressing up, but I would only do so in spaces where I felt it was welcomed. Ie church, weddings, and celebrations. Now, i’ll dress up just going out to eat, visiting the grocery story, stopping by the mall, or going out with friends. There’s no more hesitancy in how i move and dress because the outcomes I want. I constantly tell this to myself and my clients as a life coach. Keep going men. You don’t have to make 6 figures for Kevin’s content, you need to have the desire to be your best self. That’s all.
My ex used to laugh because I wore suits on our dates to the movies or wherever. Not every time, but if it's low action, why not? I would say "back in the day, men dressed like this EVERY day, it's not that unusual, or it shouldn't be." Jeans were for ranch workers, construction workers, or field hands; if you didn't work in those industries, you only really had maybe one pair of jeans for housework or whatever else you did around the house. Besides, a tailored suit that's cut and measured properly to fit you, is 1000x more comfortable to wear than ANY jeans. If you like to wear suits, rock out my brotha, all that tells us is that you have taste and style, you never need an occasion for that, it's always welcomed. And if it isn't, so what? someone's gotta raise the bar. Stay blessed brother.

Exactly, if people step outside of their own feelings and perceptions, and actually look at the ACT of what he was doing, it would maybe resonate a lot better with a lot of critics. What he was doing, was a labor of LOVE, he absolutely loved our black women, if he didn't, he wouldnt have sat on his podcast, night after night after night, trying to guide and direct people in what he felt was the right direction, in a society that's led us in so many dead-end outcomes. Being direct and telling those ugly, uncomfortable truths, in my opinion, is the greatest respect you can pay to someone. Love how Kevin kept it real with the 28 yo stay at home mom. To think that she was on the cusp of throwing that all away to act like her friends and travel, etc., is intense. You could hear it in her voice. She was really, really considering the destruction of her own nuclear family to appear, on social media, that she was "free" of the "constraints" of motherhood and living the single-life dream. Before my fitness journey 2 years ago. I had years since I was 10 trying to go on “diet”. My mother’s version of a diet was not eating at all and never mentioned working out and physical activity (she’s anorexic to this day btw). Neither from the people in my family. I had to literally learn on my own what it REALLY meant to be consistent, be disciplined, and show up for myself at the gym, as well as learn how to eat properly, what to eat, what’s gonna give me iron and protein and all the other health benefits . The problem is that a lot of us have toxic mothers miserable with themselves that can’t even help themselves nor feel confident and good about themselves, always talking down on themselves, teaching us the way of thinking, like we haven’t been starring at them our whole childhood on how to navigate this life and to do well. But take that all out of the equation about being brought up. It just comes down to do you want it or not! Do you want to keep walking and dragging your body around when it’s too damn heavy, breathing hard, getting gout, getting ALLL these health problems you KNOW YOU ignore and don’t say anything about. Do you want to end up on prescription pills because of a body organ you damaged by not taking care of yourself properly. Your health comes all down to your physical health, if you feel like shit, you will be like shit emotionally and mentally. Are you going to keep buying things for your hair knowing you need that membership? Are you going to keep making the excuse that your hair will be nasty and sweaty if you worked out? Or you don’t like to sweat? How many excuses ? Ever since watching Kevin for 3 4 months now instead of going to the gym or working out 3 sometimes 2 times a week I made it mandatory for 5 days. No I don’t have a HVM and I don’t want one but I do have a man that cares about me and my health and does love me that will get himself into better positions and we are both young (25). I am patient. The LEAST I can do is make my image better for him and for our future children when the time comes. Being a better mom sometimes means you gotta get on the ball game and think ahead before they are even in the picture.

I’m glad a man is finally saying this. I don’t do the long nails, caterpillar eyelashes and fake hair haven’t had a perm in three years. I do have a college degree but I’m a single mother with one child a daughter. When she was a baby I tried to date but realized the men seemed to see me as a easy conquest for their benefit oh she a single mom so she should just take whatever attention I give her. So I just stopped dating altogether. I don’t know where I fit in the dating world I know I don’t want my daughter to see me with multiple men and I know that I would prefer marriage and someone who loves me and want to be a father figure to my daughter. So I’m not sure who is Kevin target audience is because most men and women 30 and older at least has one child so if your telling single mothers not to date where does that leave men who are active fathers should they not date as well. I mean you give some good advice and not every one is looking to obtain a high value man but character and morals is important to me. They calculate the added expense and the share time in being with another person with children . If a man is paying and sharing time with his children then the women sees a subtraction in resources from her children , and for the men with children they see the other woman's children as more of a subtraction from their income when their income are already strained . Most of the men who haves children that they are already paying for just want a stress free interaction with women that involves a limit amount of financial cost to them . I married a nice pizza delivery guy with same morals after I saw him save up $5k to start a business. He had no debt. I started a business and he helps me run it. We now make $25k per month after taxes. We have no kids because we choose not to procreate. I have 6 nieces and my mother thanked me for not having kids. Lol. Anyways, one person has to lead but do not be respectful to each other. He graduated from a private college but he never used his degree. I never downed him for that. I have a degree as well but I let him know he’s the man of the house. We have been together for 18 years now. I listen to Kevin to help me keep grounded.

I am late to this video but glad I found it! Not to take accountability from the black women because we make our own choices, but you have to look at how we have let media dictate the image of us and we just fell into the trap. When I was growing up we had shows like the Cosby and Different World, hell even Martin and Living Single showed black women of all different shades and sizes being natural, smart, and femine.. and even while putting people in their place there was decorum and respect for self. Now all we see of ourselves is ratchet reality TV and THOT culture all over the airwaves and social media.
